Mistake Other: Season 12, Episode "Blame it on the Rain": At the beginning of the episode, Abby is almost run over by a man driving an SUV. They exchange words and then Abby throws a supposedly full cup of coffee at him. The cup of coffee bounces off the seat of the man's car and it is obvious that the cup is empty.

Mistake Plot hole: There are always family members right in the room while the doctors are literally cutting into the patients. The family is always creating a fuss or whatever, until someone asks for them to escorted out. A real hospital would never let family members into the room while they are cracking open their loved one's chest.

Mistake Plot hole: During Season 5, the search for an ER Chief takes nearly a year and two nationwide searches, but is ultimately unsuccessful. At the beginning of Season 6, Romano is chosen as Chief of *Staff* in the blink of an eye, and Kerry is appointed as ER Chief just as quickly. Then, in Season 9, Kerry and Romano's positions are switched as though such things happen everyday. There's no way decisions of this magnitude would be made in such a brief amount of time.

Mistake Continuity: For Season 12, Episode "Two Ships": While Pratt and Ray are giving chest compressions, the victim points to a "pain" chart and leaves a smudge of blood. But in the next shot, the blood is gone.

Mistake Factual error: Episode Title: The Show Must Go On Season Number: 11 Episode Number 245 (22 of that season) When the woman is giving birth, they show the baby just after they finally got her out. The baby is clean, no blood and other signs of a recent birth are visible. This is especially unlikely since the doctors had to "cut her open" to liberate the baby from the birth channel.

Mistake Continuity: In "Graduation Day", towards the end when Abby and her mother are in the apartment talking about her leaving, Abby is holding the baby and when the camera is facing her the baby is up on her shoulder. But when the camera is to her back facing her mother the baby is down. It continues like that through the whole scene.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": The show regularly shows characters by the Chicago River and either on or near Michigan Avenue, when they are getting lunch or walking to work. Both U of C hospital (where the hospital exteriors are filmed) and Cook Country hospital (where the characters are supposed to work) are about 5 miles from this point. This would be an extremely long distance for them to walk on a routine basis. I'm sure this is done just because Michigan Ave and the river are two of the most scenic parts of Chicago.

Mistake Factual error: Featured characters in the show always seem to be wearing brand new winter clothing - their jackets, hats, gloves, etc. always look pristine, sparkling clean, and just-purchased. Anyone who lives in a winter climate knows that winter clothes age very quickly - the pristine look last about an hour. Extras in the show, probably providing their own clothes, wear much more lived-in normal outdoor clothing.

Mistake Factual error: This is in the Episode titled "Forgive and Forget" Also called the Tank episode. When the psychotic vet steals an M-60 series tank and drives through Chicago to the hospital, there are several problems with the tank actions. If the vet had combat locked the hatches, the police would not have been able to open the loaders hatch to shoot him, but if it had not been locked, all the bouncing around as he rolled over cars would have bounced it open to lock in the open posistion. If it had been open and not locked open, it would have been visibly open(8-10 inches) but it was not during all the views on the way to the hospital. During the trip to the hospital, the main gun is in the travel lock over the rear deck, the travel lock cannot be released from inside the vehicle, and if he had ever stopped and gotten out to release it, the police would have shot him, and yet when he gets to the hospital, he can traverse the turret. And while we are talking about the turret traversing, that cannot be done from the drivers compartment, it must be done from either the commander's position or the gunner's position. When the police open the loaders hatch, they shoot straight down into the driver's compartment in the hull, but the vet would have had to be in the right side of the turret, in either the TC or Gunner seat to be traversing the turret.

Mistake Continuity: Season 11: Episode 5: An interns guide to the galaxy: Near the end, when Ray asks if he can go home, we see Sam writing her number of discharged patients on the board in a close up. The camera then cuts back to the whole group and the size and style of Sam's writing changes. Most noticeable that the circle now stretches over the line between Ray and Abby's count whereas before it was in the middle of Abby's column.

24 Hours (1) (a.k.a. The Longest Day (1)) (season 1, episode 1)

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the last scene there are three doctors standing in the corridor (I think it's Ross, Carter and Benton). You can see their tape marks for where they need to stand. When the camera pans out it pans too far and you can see where the corridor floor ends and the studio floor starts.

Chicago Heat (season 1, episode 7)

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Dr. Benton talks to the police detective and then goes to see the grocery store owner, as Dr. Benton swings open the doors, the camera crew can be seen in the reflection of the glass of the door.

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Carol is on the phone in the ER - we can see her name tag pinned over the right side of her stethoscope. In the next shot, as she turns to talk to Mark, the tag is pinned over the left side of the stethoscope.

Mistake Continuity: As Doug Ross sits with the little girl Kaneisha who is sleeping, her bedcovers change position noticeably in one shot, and then back to the way they were in the next. In the same shots, Doug's ID also changes from being completely noticeable to almost completely obscured, and then back again.

Long Day's Journey (a.k.a. Missing Persons) (season 1, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: Doug Ross puts a piece of gauze over the young girl Mandy's wrist - the shot changes to over his shoulder and there is suddenly no gauze. Within a few seconds he then manages to bandage up her hand, as he talks. In real time, it couldn't have been done that quickly.

Make of Two Hearts (season 1, episode 17)

Mistake Continuity: Doug and Peter are running to meet the ambulance transporting the boy with the crushed leg. From the back we see Doug with his arms out as he runs, but the shot changes to the front and he has his hands in his pockets, with no time to change naturally.

Mistake Continuity: Carol and Carter are in the room with the patient Tatiana and the dog; Tatiana has a yellow marker in her hand. In some shots she appears to be hugging the dog and in others drawing something with the marker, with no time to change positions.

Mistake Continuity: Carol goes to visit Tatiana while she is sleeping. As the camera shows a shot from above, the blanket over the girl has changed position noticeably.

Mistake Continuity: At the very end of the show, Carol is sitting on a gurney with Tatiana - the little girl is holding her doll by its waist. The shot changes and suddenly she is holding it around its neck.

Love's Labor Lost (season 1, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: As Mark futilely pounds on Jodi O'Brien's chest, Carol can be seen in the background, removing her protective glasses with one hand. However, after the time of death has been called and they're showing the reactions of everyone present in the room (Susan, Carol, Carter, Lydia, Chen), Carol is seen taking the glasses off again, this time with both hands.

Mistake Continuity: Peter goes into the operating room, demanding to help with his mother's surgery. When he goes in, his cap is pulled down over his hair, but when he is talking to the surgeon in charge, about an inch of his hair shows for a couple of shots. The surgeon orders him out, and he leaves, and his hair is completely covered again. At no time did he adjust the cap.

Mistake Other: When Jodi O'Brien is having seizures during the birth, Dr. Greene decides to take the baby out prematurely. Complications result and the woman dies, they show a shot of a clock in the background and it says 7:00, but when they say the time of death they say 6:02.

House of Cards (season 1, episode 22)

Mistake Continuity: When Malik finds Carter's family noted amongst the richest in Chicago, he says that Carter's father is named 'Roland'. However, in later episodes, Carter's father's name is given as John Truman Carter, Jr.

Mistake Continuity: During the opening credits, when they are working on an unconscious patient, his belt is undone and his fly is down. A couple of shots later, the fly is up and the belt buckled, even no one touched them in between.

Mistake Continuity: Susan comes home carrying bags of groceries. When she first sees Chloe sitting at the door, a box of Kix cereal is on the side of the bag next to her body, but as she says "Chloe", the box is on the other side of the bag, away from her.

Men Plan, God Laughs (season 1, episode 23)

Mistake Other: When the patient Isadore is brought in, early in the show, he is transferred from the stretcher onto a table, and we can see him deliberately move his right hand out of the way of the other actors moving him. He is supposed to be unconscious and very seriously injured so would not have done this is real life.

Mistake Continuity: Susan and nurse Connie are talking to the fraudulent doctor - Susan has her clipboard at waist level and is lifting one page up with her right hand. The next shot shows her holding the clipboard down at hip level and both hands are on it. There was not enough time for the change.

Mistake Continuity: Carter, referring to the patient Isadore, announces that he can't find a pulse in his leg - as he says this, his stethoscope is around his neck. Doug orders him to find a surgeon and suddenly the stethoscope is in Carter's ears, but there was no time for the switch.

Mistake Continuity: Doug introduces his girlfriend's son Jake to old girlfriend Linda who is holding her coat over her arm with her hands clasped together. As she says hello to Jake she puts her hand up to her hair, but from his angle we still see her hands together. This continues for the next couple of shots as they chat.

Motherhood (season 1, episode 25)

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Susan rushes into the ER with Chloe who is in labour. Carter is sitting behind the desk and he tips back, falls over, and takes his coffee down with him. Then he is suddenly standing there with a wheelchair for Chloe and he also hands Susan a mug of coffee from the counter, which somehow just appeared there. All this took place in 6 seconds, which couldn't have happened in real time.

Do One, Teach One, Kill One (season 2, episode 3)

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning of the show, Susan is talking to Kerry while holding baby Susie and a stuffed Sylvester the cat; the toy is in a different position in each shot and in the last shot it has disappeared altogether. As Susan walks away, the toy is in the diaper bag, although we never saw her put it there.

Mistake Continuity: As Susan walks along the fence, shouting at Chloe, baby Susie is completely wrapped up in a blanket, although in the shot before one arm was free and Susan never tucked it in.

Mistake Continuity: Near the end of the show, Susan is holding baby Susie and talking to Chloe through the chain-link fence. In one shot we see the back of Susan and Susie's head, but as the shot switches to Susan's face, we see the back of the baby's head again, without her ever turning her head.

Mistake Continuity: As Chloe moves backward away from the fence while talking to Susan, we can see her friend Ruth in the convertible, sitting up on the back of the seat. In one shot Ruth completely disappears but reappears again, all in the course of a few seconds.

And Baby Makes Two (season 2, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: In this episode Susan is thinking about giving little Susie up for adoption, throughout the episode the baby playing little Susie switches from a brown eyed baby to a blue eyed baby.

Days Like This (season 2, episode 6)

Mistake Continuity: The head of pediatrics is talking about Doug to Mark and Dr. Morgenstern and is holding his glasses in one hand. From one shot to another they flip right over in his hand, with no time for him to change them.

Mistake Continuity: Carol's notary asks her for some water and she takes the cup in one hand and the jug in the other and pours. The next shot shows one hand still pouring and the other up on her papers. She had no time to put the cup down and move her hand.

Mistake Continuity: Carol is signing papers for the notary and he is complaining about his job - he has one hand up on his large book and the other in his lap. The shot changes and his arm and hand are under the book, with no time to shift naturally.

Mistake Continuity: Harper is talking to Mark about her night with Doug and her stethoscope is hidden in her collar and lapel on her right. As the shot changes and she turns, it is suddenly fully visible and the left side has moved much further up towards her neck.

Hell and High Water (season 2, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: Molly's mother walks away from her daughter's bed and towards her ex-husband and has moved about a foot from the bed; the next shot goes back to Molly's face and we can see her mother's hand still on her shoulder, even though this would be physically impossible.

Mistake Continuity: When the little boy pounds on Doug's car window, the light outside goes from twilight to dark to twilight again, all in a few seconds.

Mistake Continuity: Peter is standing next to the bed of a the little girl who was hit by a car, talking to her parents. Suddenly there is a paper in his hand which hadn't been there in the shots before.

The Secret Sharer (season 2, episode 8)

Mistake Continuity: Early in the show, Mark is going into an office to meet with Morgenstern and another doctor. As he opens the door in the hall, his bag is slung over his right shoulder, but when the shot changes and he's entering the office, it's over his left shoulder. He had no time to change it.

True Lies (season 2, episode 12)

Mistake Continuity: When Mark is having breakfast with Rachel and they are talking about skating, her table napkin, which was under her left elbow, falls to the floor. However, the next shot shows it back on the table, with her knife on top of it.

It's Not Easy Being Greene (season 2, episode 13)

Mistake Continuity: Carter goes into the faculty dining room to talk to Peter and Dr. Vuselich - he has a brown strap around his neck (with his stethoscope) which changes position several times during the scene, even though he never touches it.

Mistake Continuity: Harper and Carter are in bed and his hand is bunched under the bedspread several inches from her hand. The next shot shows his hand is up by hers, touching her bottle of water, with no time for natural movement.

The Right Thing (season 2, episode 14)

Mistake Continuity: When Carter first starts to confront the drunk patients Angel and Nathan, the door to their room is open behind him. Angel falls to the floor and the shot shows the door is now closed. The shot goes back to Angel laughing and the door is ajar again. Then it's closed again, and then open when Susan comes into the room. All this happens within a few seconds.

Mistake Continuity: Carter makes an upward motion and grabs Angel's paper cup of booze from her - but in the next shot there is no sign of the cup and he is holding a clipboard. There was no time for him to get rid of it.

Mistake Continuity: When Doug is outside with his father, and the shot is on Ray, we can see a lot of snow in the air, but when the camera goes to Doug, there is no snow at all. The snow distribution on his father's coat change from shot to shot as well, too much to happen in only a split second.

Mistake Continuity: When Vuselich is lecturing Peter about his medical study, and we see Peter's face, his cap is pulled down over the top of his ears. When the shot is on Vuselich's face, we can now see the tops of Peter's ears. It continues like this for the whole scene.

Mistake Continuity: Susan is at home, making drinks for Mark and her - she pours them drinks from the blender and leaves a little bit of liquid in the blender. They head for the living room and the blender suddenly has about 3 inches of liquid in it.

Baby Shower (season 2, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the show, Peter is scraping the ice off his windshield, but the scraped pattern we see from inside the car is different from the pattern outside. When the car won't start, he gets out, and more of the windshield has been scraped in the meantime.

Mistake Factual error: The majority of the babies that come out are far far too clean. This is particularly noticeable with the 2 twins, where the second one has nothing cleaned off it when it's presented to his mother.

The Healers (season 2, episode 16)

Mistake Plot hole: When Benton and Carter are having to do the surgery on Raoul in the ER after he was burned they are not wearing masks.Dr Greene had just said that the real cause of death in burn victims is infection and not the burns themselves.

Fire in the Belly (season 2, episode 19)

Mistake Continuity: As Chloe is leaving the kitchen, there is a bowl to the right of the sink, but when the shot goes back to Susan, the bowl has mysteriously disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: When Susan and Chloe are doing the dishes, there is a dish towel in a bowl to the left of Susan. As Chloe takes baby Susie away, the towel disappears.

Mistake Continuity: When Susan knocks on Chloe's door, we see her holding the baby's toy but when the shot goes to Chloe's face, baby Susie is now holding the toy, but it returns to Susan's hand in the next shot. There was no time for any transfer.

Mistake Continuity: Susan goes to see the patient Mrs. Garvey - we can see the sticky tape on her right shoulder, but as the scene progresses, her gown is pulled up, covering it - even though no one adjusted it during the scene.

John Carter, M.D. (season 2, episode 22)

Mistake Continuity: Jerry is eating a hot dog while he talks to Carter. He is holding it with one hand. The shot changes and suddenly he has two hands on it but then the next shot goes back to the first position.

Dr. Carter, I Presume (season 3, episode 1)

Mistake Continuity: When Peter and Jeanie are outside talking about their test results, there is an extra in a green sweater behind them who covers more ground than humanly possible from one shot to the next.

Mistake Continuity: When Peter goes to his sister's picnic, he puts a pink box on the table and then sits in front of it. When his attention is diverted by a woman, suddenly the box is in front of him.

Let the Games Begin (season 3, episode 2)

Mistake Continuity: Carol is at her house with her mother, who makes 2 cups of coffee. She brings them to the table and Carol takes one but in the next shot, both mugs are still sitting on the table in the original position.

Mistake Continuity: When Jeanie is meeting with her doctor, the doc fills a mug with coffee and puts in on her desk. The mug does a 180-degree turn so that the handle is facing the opposite direction. Another shot - and it's back to the first position.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell (season 3, episode 3)

Mistake Continuity: Carters throws his white towel on top of the lockers and it falls to the floor and the locker door closes - but the next shot shows the towel on top of the lockers again and the locker is half-open.

Last Call (season 3, episode 4)

Mistake Continuity: During the scene where Carol and Mark are arguing with Doug about him examining the girl, the door behind her is closed. At the end of the scene, as Doug walks away, the door is open, even though no one went near it.

Ghosts (season 3, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: Abbie is asking Peter and Carter questions about infant developmental stages and they are standing up straight next to the crib. When she says "don't worry, Dr. Benton", the shot shows Peter with one elbow draped over the crib and Carter is leaning over with arms folded. They could not have changed so quickly in real time.

Fear of Flying (season 3, episode 6)

Mistake Continuity: Mark is watching Susan get on the helicopter and he hooks his Flight Physician jacket over his finger so it is hanging over his shoulder completely down his back. However, the shot from behind shows the jacket partially draped over his left shoulder - then it goes back to being down his back.

No Brain, No Gain (season 3, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: Carter is working on a patient who has swallowed a lot of taffy - he is sitting behind his head with both hands working on his mouth. But when Anspaugh walks in he suddenly has one elbow up in the air and the other hand wrapped around the patient's chin. There was no time for the change in position.

Homeless for the Holidays (season 3, episode 10)

Mistake Plot hole: When Mark slips and falls in the staff lounge, he puts both hands on the table to catch himself - but we can see him (the actor) quite deliberately lower his head to one hand - this is supposedly where he cuts himself, but he actually hits his hand and not the table. This would not produce the deep cut he ended up with. Also, the head makes contact on the left of his forehead and he ends up with a cut on the right. And when we actually see the cut, it is vertical and logic tells us that it would have been impossible for him to have a vertical cut from the angle he fell.

Mistake Continuity: Nick the dog is standing in the sink and Mark and Doug have got him just about completely covered in soap. The dog jumps out and runs out of the room - by the time he reaches the hall, only a couple of seconds later, the soap has almost completely disappeared.

Mistake Revealing: When Mark goes to treat his cut, he leaves the lounge with a couple of tissues held to his head. He gets some supplies and puts a supposedly fresh piece of gauze to his forehead - however the gauze already has some "blood" on it - a feature the camera obviously wasn't supposed to catch. When Jeanie comes over to check it out, he pulls the gauze away from himself and - voila - there's the bloodstain.

Night Shift (season 3, episode 11)

Mistake Continuity: When Carter and Doyle are running down a corridor to the patient having a heart attack, the camera follows them along the floor and you can see several coloured lines going down the hall. After we see this, they burst through a double door, and if you look behind them you cannot see these lines anymore; they've simply vanished.

Post Mortem (season 3, episode 12)

Mistake Continuity: When he's scuffling with the homeless man in the trauma room, Carter's stethoscope slips off his shoulders and drops to the floor. By the time Mark finds him standing outside, it's back around his neck, with no moment when he could have picked it up.

Fortune's Fools (season 3, episode 13)

Mistake Continuity: Benton is talking to Carla about her preganancy test and they go through the double doors to the snowy outdoors. Carla has nothing in her hand when she pushes the doors open, but once outside she is holding a hat - she wouldn't have even had time to pull it out of her pocket.

Mistake Continuity: Dr. Hicks is standing in front of the surgery white board talking to Carter and she says "Care to join me?" He replies "Love to" and the shot goes right back to her - she has moved 8 or 10 inches to the left, without enough time to have done this in real life.

Mistake Continuity: Carter is watching the clock, waiting for Peter to show up for a presentation. The clock jumps from 3:03 to 3:04 in a split second (we literally see the minute hand jump)but the second hand doesn't change posiiton.

Whose Appy Now? (season 3, episode 14)

Mistake Continuity: When Peter signs the consent form for his surgery, his head is raised off his pillow a few inches. The shot changes and he continues to sign - but now his head is lying on the pillow even though he didn't have time to move.

The Long Way Around (season 3, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: While Carol is trying to save Mr. Novotny's life, Mrs. Novotny's hair alternates from being loose and hanging over her cheeks to being neatly tucked back into her bun. In fact, a few minutes later when Carol asks for her keys, her hair looks just-brushed shiny and newly coiffed - it's unlikely she would have fussed over her hair at this stressful time.

Mistake Continuity: When Mrs. Novotny offers to get aspirin, Angie helps her up by Mrs. N.'s left hand - there's no blood on it, but the next shot shows her hand quite covered in dried blood. Mrs. N. has no blood on her clothes, despite being right next to her husband while he bled to death and Carol administered CPR.

Mistake Continuity: Kerry follows Carol outside and as Carol is holding her gloved hands up in front of her Kerry asks her if she needs anything, and as she replies, "No thanks, I'm fine," her hands are suddenly in her pockets.

Mistake Continuity: Carol is working on James' injury and Duncan goes to answer the phone. James has his arm wrapped around the phone but the shot changes to focus on Robert - we can still see James but his arm is now at his waist, even though he had no time to change positions.

Mistake Plot hole: Carol and Duncan escape out the back of the shop - but there are no police waiting for them, which makes no sense at all. In reality, with such a situation, the police would have been waiting at the back door. There seems to be no one around at all, as they were able to dash through an apartment. When they finally do run into a cop, he automatically assumes that Carol is an innocent bystander, and not one of the robbers. He couldn't have known this, and in reality, a policeman wouldn't assume it.

Mistake Continuity: Carol is putting little bandages on Duncan's face and we see her put 2 on his forehead and 3 on his cheek. The shot changes and now there are 3 on his forehead and those on his cheek have shifted position slightly.

Mistake Continuity: When Carol is talking to Angie in the hospital, there is quite a large bloodstain on Carol's sweater, just below her left shoulder. She leaves the room, meets Doug, and without explanation, the bloodstain has disappeared.

Faith (season 3, episode 16)

Mistake Continuity: When Mark is examining Louise, her Barbie changes position several times from shot to shot.

Mistake Continuity: Carol sits down at the breakfast table in a normal sitting position, however the next shot shows her with her knee up on the chair, almost up to her chin.

Mistake Continuity: Mark is talking to Maggie about getting Louise on the transplant list - he has his arms clasped in front of him with his hands wrapped around his elbows. The shot changes and his right arm is outstretched with his hand on the wall - with no time for the change.

Random Acts (season 3, episode 20)

Mistake Revealing: When Dr. Greene is being attacked in the toilet, he is thrown into a supposedly brick wall. It bends and wobbles like a set wall would.

Mistake Continuity: Chris Daw confronts Mark in the parking garage with the bill from the hospital for his brother's care. Mark folds up the bill, but as Chris says, "They don't understand", the bill is suddenly open in his hand again.

Mistake Continuity: After Mark is beaten up, he topples out into the hall when Doug opens the bathroom door. The shot from the hall shows his body from the armpits up is in the hall, but from the shot from inside the bathroom, he is lying in the hall from the hip up. Nobody moved him in the meantime.

Make a Wish (season 3, episode 21)

Mistake Continuity: When Peter goes into Carla's room to talk to her, we see him let go of the door, but in the shot showing him entering the room, he is still holding the door.

One More for the Road (season 3, episode 22)

Mistake Continuity: In this episode you see Carol and Doug discussing Charlie over phoning and chart-reviewing. Carol is standing beside Doug. Suddenly somebody calls from behind the desk. It's Tommy, a "friend" of Charlie. When he's in the picture, you see Carol sitting in a chair, instead of standing. If she had moved to the chair, she must have done that SO fast, it's impossible.

All of series 4 (season 4)

Mistake Continuity: In Episode 17 (A Bloody Mess) Lizzie sees Dr. Morgenstern for the first time in the ER and she asks Kerry, "Who the hell was that?", and Kerry answers, "Our Chief of Emergency Medicine." Yet when he resigns in Episode 19, he tells Peter he's resigning as Chief of Surgery. Unless he held both positions, Kerry's answer could not be considered a character mistake, as she would have known what his position was.

Ambush (season 4, episode 1)

Mistake Continuity: Mark is intubating the man who is paralyzed from the neck down. We can see his hands working - we know it is him by the splint on his wrist and he is talking as he works. However, Malik comes in and calls him away, and he rushes off, but the hands working on the patient don't change.

Something New (season 4, episode 2)

Mistake Continuity: When Jeanie and Al are in the diner, when she spears a piece of fruit on her fork, Al has his hand on his hip. However, when the shot changes and she says, "How about your grandmother?", his hand is up on her shoulder.

Mistake Continuity: When Anna leaves the little boy Skyler's room, she has his chart under her right arm - but when she gets through the door and joins Doug in the hall, the chart has transferred to under her left arm, with no time for the change.

Mistake Continuity: Oliver, the brain tumour patient, is talking to Anna, Henry, and Carter. He has his right arm up on the bed railing - but as he says "cook", his arm is suddenly down in his lap.

When the Bough Breaks (season 4, episode 4)

Mistake Continuity: When Kerry is talking to Doug about his fellowship proposal, his stethoscope moves a couple of inches higher on his neck, even though he never touches it.

Mistake Other: When Doug and the nurses are watching the TV about a motorcycle accident, Kerry comes along and calls him Mark. This could be a character error, but as Doug responds 'yeah', and they talk, it indeed becomes a production error. In real life, the person would have corrected her.

Good Touch, Bad Touch (season 4, episode 5)

Mistake Revealing: When Greene and Benton are at the coffee stall, Greene calls Benton "Eriq," which of course is the actors real name.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter is examining the patient Tom Angevine who drove into a tree, we can see two very noticeable parallel cuts from his eye to his chin - but as it goes to close up they miraculously disappear.

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Peter is holding baby Reese upright when he opens the door to Carla's room, but as the shot changes to show him coming through the door, suddenly the baby is lying horizontally in his arms.

Ground Zero (season 4, episode 6)

Mistake Continuity: Carter is talking to Carol about his grandmother. The shot is mainly on her but we can see him put his pen away and pick up a chart - then the shot goes to him and we see him do the same thing again.

Mistake Audio problem: When Greene is outside by the river explaining what happened to him, there are a couple of really bad sound edits in the background noise. These are really obvious as the sound suddenly changes, and for some reason the background noise in this scene is very loud, almost as loud as the dialogue; very strange.

Fathers and Sons (season 4, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: In season 2, Doug mentioned that he hadn't seen or spoken to his father in 22 years, since he was twelve. But when he's going through his father's things at the motel, he finds pictures of himself from high school. Plus, he mentions his father teaching him how to drive when he was about 13 or 14.

Freak Show (season 4, episode 8)

Mistake Continuity: Peter, Elizabeth, and Romano are with the little boy who has organ reversal and as Romano says "genetic breakthroughs are in the wings", Peter puts on one glove. As Lizzie asks him if something is wrong, he is putting on the glove again. As they continue to talk, he begins to examine Rodney, but when the shot changes, he is still putting on his gloves.

Mistake Continuity: When Peter comes in to talk to Rodney's father Isaac, the clock on the wall says 11:40 - which it had also read a few scenes earlier when Rodney came out of surgery. After Peter checks the chart and starts to talk to Isaac, the clock has somehow changed to 3:30.

Obstruction of Justice (season 4, episode 9)

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Carter gets a can of soft drink from the machine and just then his cousin Chase shows up in the ER - they hug and somehow the can, which should be in Carter's hand, has disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: When Carol goes to get Doug to see the sickle-cell patient, the clock reads 3:50. The next few scenes include Rachel arriving at the hospital and being taken to the dentist and for a dual makeovers by Cynthia. When Mark is walking by the same clock with Herb the lawyer, it reads 2:30. He then says goodbye to Herb and his ex-wife arrives to pick up Rachel, who is now back in the ER with Cynthia. The clock times do not reflect the sequence of scenes.

Mistake Continuity: When Doug and Carol are making out in the exam room, their hands are around each other's waists. When Cynthia interrupts, suddenly his hands are around her face.

Mistake Continuity: Just before Carter is let out of his jail cell, he is examining his cellmate's carbuncle - his patient had a cigarette behind his ear throughout the scene but as the shot goes to show the cop arriving, the cigarette has gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Jeanie is in the office with Kerry, Anspaugh, and the union rep discussing her firing, her stethoscope changes position over her name tag several times within a few seconds.

Do You See What I See? (season 4, episode 10)

Mistake Continuity: After Dr. West leaves Anspaugh's office, the next shot shows both Kerry's hand and stethoscope have changed position. Also, the throw which had been fully visible behind her, is now only visible on the right side.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter enters the hospital with the patient Lenny, he suddenly has latex gloves on, when just a second before, when the scene was outside, he had no gloves on. There just wouldn't have been time for him to get them on.

Mistake Continuity: Within the space of what would appear to be more than 5 minutes in the ER, considering the continuous flow of action (starting with Kerry offering to get Pablo a taxi and ending with Dr. West examining the patient Lenny) the clock goes from 10:30 to 6:20. Shortly after that Dr. West pronounces Lenny dead, saying 13:38 (or 1:38).

Mistake Continuity: Even though Carter and Henry were outside in the snow when the patient Lenny arrived, and they had quite a bit of snow in their hair, when the shot goes to them entering the building, we don't see any snow on Carter and Henry - but there is still lots on the patient and the paramedics.

Mistake Continuity: The paramedics bring Lenny by ambulance and are taking him out of the back of it - Carter picks up the chart from the gurney as the paramedic describes the patient - but suddenly the chart is back on the gurney - we should have seen Carter do this but we don't.

Think Warm Thoughts (season 4, episode 11)

Mistake Continuity: When Anna is holding the "virtual pet" after realising it has died, in the shots from the front she is holding it in both hands, but from the back it's only in her right hand. It's tricky to see because there is a pile of papers in the way, but her left hand is folded in front of her in the shots from behind.

Carter's Choice (season 4, episode 13)

Mistake Continuity: Lizzie puts two cans of soft drink on the table in front of Peter - but a short time later they have moved noticeably, even though neither of them touched them.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter comes into the ER with breakfast for everyone, he slips on the muddy floor and the food goes flying. A cardboard tray flies straight up from his left hand but ends up a few feet to his right, which defies the laws of physics.

Mistake Continuity: Dr. Wesr is talking to Kerry outside while it is snowing. He has quite a lot of snow on his shoulders, but within a few seconds, most of it has disappeared, which in real life wouldn't happen.

Exodus (season 4, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: Carter rushes over to a Coke dispenser where there are four plastic jugs filled with ice and we see him dump all four of them into a plastic tub. The camera goes to Anna, who says "Carter, Carter" and then we see him dump the last two jugs again. When Carter reaches the patient, there is considerably more ice in the tub than he had to begin with.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter is doing the eye test on the old woman, between shots he is holding the glass in front of a different eye instantly.

My Brother's Keeper (season 4, episode 16)

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the show, Doug is working on the computer while Mark is talking to him. At first there is a document sitting on top of a thick black book but that disappears after a couple of shots - and neither of them touched it.

A Bloody Mess (season 4, episode 17)

Mistake Continuity: Romano is standing outside an ER room watching through the glass. To his left, down the hall, we can see a woman pushing someone in a wheelchair. But when the shot goes to him entering the room, there's an extra behind him on the left pushing a large cart of supplies - there was nowhere for him to come from.

Mistake Continuity: Mark comes into the cafeteria with a sytrofoam bowl of something, and when he sits down he starts to take the lid off. The next shot shows him already eating it with a spoon - there was no time to accomplish this so quickly.

Mistake Continuity: When the "accident" victims are brought in near near the start of the show, a woman wearing overalls is covered in masses of glistening blood in the closeup - but the wider shot shows less blood and it is much more dried on her clothing.

Mistake Revealing: Just before the bowl of pablum falls onto Peter's head, look carefully to see a white adult hand (looks female) holding baby Reese's spoon, and push the bowl so it flips over onto the actor's head.

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning of the show, Peter is feeding Reese in the hospital cafeteria. Reese has a bowl of pablum that is in the middle of his high chair tray. The next shot shows the bowl way over to the left, even though there was no time for the change in position.

Mistake Continuity: When Doug is sitting at the cafeteria with Mark, Peter and baby Reese, his arm is stretched out on the table as Peter says, "fifteen minutes of quality time". The shot changes and suddenly there is no sign of his arm.

Mistake Continuity: Just before Peter bends over beside Reese, an extra is starting to walk behind them. The next shot shows the cereal on Peter's head and we should be able to still see the extra, but there's no sign of him.

Gut Reaction (season 4, episode 18)

Mistake Continuity: In the OR, Peter is trying to save Dr. Swanson's life. Lizzie is standing in the corner watching. She has her right hand up to her chin, resting the elbow on her left hand, which is at her waist. Subsequent shots show the opposite - her left hand on her right.

Shades of Gray (season 4, episode 19)

Mistake Continuity: The patient Zoe is in the ER with her boyfriend while Doug, Carol and Lydia work around her. At one point she puts her hand up to her throat, but in the next shot it's down by her hip, without enough time for the change.

Mistake Continuity: Doug goes into the ER room to respond to the boy, who's saying "go away." His mother has her arm around his head and is telling the drunk with his teeth out to go away. Then the shot changes and we see the boy's head, but no mother. A quick shot change and there she is again, cradling his head.

Of Past Regret and Future Fear (season 4, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: After Anna tells Tina Marie she might have kidney problems, Tina grabs her husband Emmett's hand and then puts her other hand over it; the next shot shows her hand is still on the tray and then she moves it to cover Emmett's again.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter is trying to get his cousin Chase to draw a picture, sometimes there is a glass of juice on the tray and sometimes there isn't.

Mistake Continuity: As Carter's grandmother is asking him if he'll be at his grandfather's dinner, we see him pick up a mug by its handle - but the next shot, from behind his shoulder, shows him holding the mug by the side.

A Hole in the Heart (season 4, episode 22)

Mistake Continuity: When Doug and Carol are talking in the Pedes ICU, from one angle his head is against the back of the rocking chair, but from the other angle, his head is leaning forward. This continues for the scene, from shot to shot.

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning of the show, Doug is examining baby Josh and puts his stethoscope in his ears. Kerry says, "Your actions are totally irresponsible", and the shot goes to Doug. There is no sign of the stethoscope anywhere. The next shot, from behind him, shows it's around his neck. He then takes it off and the next shot should show it in his hands - but it's disappeared again.

Mistake Continuity: When Anna and Max are talking in the lounge, a piece of her hair is hanging over her ear when the shot is from behind her shoulder, but from the front angle, it's tucked smoothly behind her ear.

Day for Knight (season 5, episode 1)

Mistake Other: After resusitation attempts fail, Lucy is left alone with a dead patient whose phone starts ringing. At that point we can see the "dead" patient's chest rising up and down as he breathes (and he's not on a respirator).

Mistake Continuity: Carter and Lucy are standing in the middle of the admitting, where they are talking about a case. Lucy asks, "Does it resemble a Christmas tree?" and Carter's stethoscope goes from being visible over his lapel to being tucked under it.

Mistake Continuity: Mark is showing Lucy around the hospital and they go from an examination room to a trauma room - as they go through the doors, Mark is in front and pushes open the right door and we see it stays open. Lucy never touches it. But the shot showing them coming into the room has Mark letting go of the door and it swinging shut.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Lucy is shown getting a coat from under the desk. Yosh comes up to her and says something, then opens the door and walks out of the shot. When he opens the door, there is a reflection of a man wearing headphones and holding a boom mic.

They Treat Horses, Don't They? (season 5, episode 3)

Mistake Continuity: When Peter and Elizabeth are in the locker room having a serious talk, Peter's tying his tie - but when the shot is from behind his shoulder, his tie is completely undone. When the shot is on Elizabeth, it's partly tied. This continues for a few shots.

Mistake Continuity: Doug, Mark and Carol are in the lounge having pizza and Doug has just told them he's the new Pedes ER Attending. Carol asks Mark, "Aren't you thrilled?" Mark is holding a paper cup. A split second later, his cup's gone and his hands are apart in front of him. Doug says, "He's got his doubts," and now there's a cup in Mark's left hand.

Masquerade (season 5, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: When the med students throw the burning armchair over the balcony it tumbles down the steps, crosses the landing and continues to roll down the second set of steps to within a foot or so of Carter and Bernie. The next shot shows it on the landing again, and then tumbling down the last few steps again.

Mistake Continuity: The patient Coco is sitting up in her bed talking to Mark about the drug he gave her. From one camera angle her hands are in front of her, but from another her hands are behind her.

Mistake Continuity: Carter suggests Lucy find the drunken patient a detox bed and the pile of books, files and fake arm she is carrying shift position from one shot to the next.

Stuck on You (season 5, episode 6)

Mistake Continuity: The patient, Mr. Levy, is talking to Carol and her assistant, and as he says, "I have sugar diabetes, hello!" his left arm goes down to his side. But in the next quick shot, both his arms are folded over his chest under his overcoat.

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Lucy goes into Carter's room, putting her backpack on the bed and disturbing his girlfriend. She then turns and rushes out of the room, and her backpack is on her back, even though she didn't have time to put it there.

Hazed and Confused (season 5, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: Mark asks the fireman if he can crash there for the night. His hat and the magazines on the table change position from shot to shot.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter and Kerry are in her kitchen and she is making something in the blender, the level of liquid drops a few inches even though she doesn't pour anything out of it.

The Good Fight (a.k.a. A Perfect Match) (season 5, episode 8)

Mistake Factual error: At the beginning of the show, Doug states that even though it's November, it's never too late to golf. A lot of this episode's scenes are outside as Lucy and Carter run around looking for a patient's father - the flowers are still blooming and the trees are full of green leaves, with only the slightest of autumn foliage, and few dead leaves on the ground. Considering the locale of Chicago, it looks like mid-September, certainly nothing like November.

Good Luck, Ruth Johnson (season 5, episode 9)

Mistake Continuity: A policeman is in the ER talking about the little boy who was shot. He gives Carol a schoolbook with the boy's name in it. She looks at it and asks, "What about Wilson's family?" and then closes it - then as the cop answers, "Workin' on it", we see her closing it again.

Mistake Continuity: Carol is in Wilson's room writing on the center of his chart. When the shot shows her turn to answer Wilson, her pen is writing near the edge of the chart. She didn't have time to change the pen's position so quickly.

Mistake Continuity: Carol is talking to Wilson in his room and she says, "I'm sad about what happened to Andy". As she says this, her arm is stretched out and her hand is on the bed railing. The next quick shot shows both her hands are holding his chart.

Mistake Continuity: A detective goes into Wilson's room to talk to him, and Carol joins them, sitting near the end of the bed by Wilson's feet. A couple of shots later, as the detective talks to him, Carol is suddenly sitting by his knees, even though she never changes positions.

The Miracle Worker (season 5, episode 10)

Mistake Continuity: Peter and Dr. Romano are in the operating room arguing about Romano's lack of sobriety. Over the course of less than a minute, the clock on the wall goes from 8:15 to 5:15.

Nobody Doesn't Like Amanda Lee (season 5, episode 11)

Mistake Continuity: When the policeman tells Aaron's parents that he died in a car accident, his mother grabs her husband by the front of his shirt but in the next shot her hand is on his lapel, with no time for the change.

Mistake Continuity: When Chuni gives Peter, Gwen's chart, there is a narrow strip of paper over the other sheets. But when he goes into the girl's room, that strip of paper disappears.

Choosing Joi (season 5, episode 13)

Mistake Continuity: When Alice opens the back of her van and Carol sees all the dogs, a large spotted dog starts to come towards them - but when the shot changes to from inside the van, that dog is no longer there.

Mistake Continuity: When Alice is siting in her hospital bed, she has Sparky the dog under one arm and scruffy little brown dog under the other. When the shot changes, the latter has moved over, and she is stroking a black and tan dog. The next shot returns to the first scenario.

The Storm (2) (season 5, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: When Kerry and Doug get to the peds unit he starts listening to the kids heart/lungs with a stethoscope. The camera cuts to Kerry and then back to Doug and he is just taking the stethoscope from around his neck. The camera cuts to Kerry and then back to Doug and its around his neck again. The camera cuts to Kerry.Doug's listening with the stethoscope again.

Sticks and Stones (season 5, episode 17)

Mistake Continuity: When Mr. Leonelli is being loaded into the ambulance, someone throws a large bottle of dark liquid that lands on the right side of the back window - however, when the shot changes, the liquid is running down the left side of the window.

Rites of Spring (season 5, episode 19)

Mistake Continuity: Yoshi and Mark are in the room with ballroom-dancing patient. Yoshi is writing on the chart - when the shot changes the paper on the chart is tented up, with no time for it to change position. When the shot changes again, he has the chart down on the instrument tray, again with no time for the change.

Power (season 5, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning of the show, Lucy and Roxanne are in the restaurant, and as Roxanne says "so much for that theory", we can see Lucy is holding up her book/magazine in the corner of the screen, but in the next shot it is lying flat on the table.

Responsible Parties (season 5, episode 21)

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the show, when Mark and Elizabeth are playing racquetball outside, an extra wearing a top with red sleeves walks behind Mark and disappears to the left. Just then, as Mark says "Romano, he keeps stalling", we see the same extra behind Mark again, heading to the left.

Leave It to Weaver (season 6, episode 1)

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Finch is talking to Jeanie about the AIDS patient, Jeanie's stethoscope goes from being fully visible over both lapels to being only visible on the right side - without her touching it.

Last Rites (season 6, episode 2)

Mistake Continuity: Carol puts a chart on the counter and says, "I need 2 mgs of morphine for Mrs. Bragha", and Doctor Dave signs, with both arms on the counter when the camera is on Carol. But when the camera is on him, he has has one hand on the counter and one arm down by his side. This happens for a few shots.

Greene with Envy (a.k.a. Lawrence of Northwestern) (season 6, episode 3)

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Lawrence is working on the ER with Mark, he gets frustrated because the tag Kerry's issued to everyone gets in his way. He asks someone to get it out of his way, and as he moves around to the other side of the table, we can see it has been pulled up around the back of his neck. As he reaches the other side, it is suddenly hanging straight down again. A short time later it is tucked up around his neck again. At no time did he adjust it.

Mistake Continuity: When the shooter in the ER drops his gun, it falls in front of his foot. Just as the shot changes, however, the gun is to the right of his foot (without him moving) and his foot pushes it aside as he runs away.

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Lawrence is tending to the patient with the stabbed wrist, the blood splatter on his lapel goes from bright red to brownish and back to red within a few shots.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the show, Randi is talking to Dr. Lawrence and is holding her neck tag on its lanyard in front of her, but as she says "Malik" and the camera shot changes, suddenly her left hand is on her waist.

Sins of the Fathers (season 6, episode 4)

Mistake Continuity: Mark and Dave are talking about the parachutist who had just died. As Dave says, "He died before I had a chance", an extra walks by them on the right. The shot shifts to Mark, who replies, but it is 4 seconds before the extra appears again beside Mark - this should have happened in a split second, not 4.

Truth & Consequences (season 6, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: Near the start of the show, Dr. Dave asks the patient Jesse how he's feeling and Jesse answers, "Not so well", and then begins throwing up. By the next shot, though, there is more vomit on his shirt than could have possibly got there in such a short time.

Mistake Continuity: After saving Mr. Perez, Carter says "That's a nice save" to Mark, and takes his stethoscope out of his ears and wraps it around his neck. The next shot, however, from behind him, shows the stethoscope is still in his ears.

Mistake Continuity: When Mr. Perez pushes Carter into the window, Carter's stethoscope is around his neck with the earpieces on the right. At one point during the fight the stethoscope is around his neck with the earpieces on the left - and then returns to the other position.

The Peace of Wild Things (season 6, episode 6)

Mistake Continuity: Peter is at his sister's house, in the kitchen, and they are talking about Carla. Jackie takes the dish towel off her shoulder and drapes it over a chair back and heads for the fridge. When the shot changes to her standing at the fridge, the towel is over her shoulder again. In the next shot, it's gone again.

Mistake Continuity: An elderly patient is grabbing at Dr. Lawrence's hands and crying, "Help me." He pulls his hand out of her grasp, but in the next shot we see him pull it away from her again.

Mistake Continuity: When Peter is doing the DNA test on Reese, the little boy's hands alternate from being behind him to being in front of him throughout the scene with no time for natural change.

Humpty Dumpty (season 6, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: During the opening credits, Carol is doing desk dury and says, "Hey, you're back" to Luca and her hand with a pen in it is up in the air. But when the shot changes, her hand is lying on her stomach. These alternate positions continue for a couple of shots.

How the Finch Stole Christmas (season 6, episode 9)

Mistake Continuity: When Romano is operating on the heart patient Valerie, Lucy has an instrument inside the patient. The shot then changes so that we can see her face and as she says, "Dr. Romano," there is no longer anything in her hand and she is holding it up waiting for a nurse to pass her an instrument, which she takes, but then the shot goes behind her - she now has a different instrument in her hand, which is in a different position.

The Domino Heart (season 6, episode 11)

Mistake Continuity: When Louise is talking about her mother's Parkinson's, the camera shot from behind her shows her left arm folded up in front of her with something red over it - but the shot from the other side shows the red item draped over her right arm.

Mistake Continuity: Dr. Romano hands Lucy a pen so that Valerie's mother can sign a consent form. Lucy puts her hand on the pen and then the shot changes and we see her put it on the pen again.

Abby Road (season 6, episode 12)

Mistake Continuity: Near the end, when Elizabeth and her mother are having wine, in one shot her mother has put the glass down on the table, but in the next shot, from behind her, she has the glass in her hand again. There was no time for the change.

Be Still My Heart (season 6, episode 13)

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the son of the accident victims is being led through the trauma rooms to see his parents' bodies, you can see Laura Innes crouching under a table in the background directing the scene. Innes was the director of this episode and it was established that this episode took place on her character's day off. Therefore, she should not have appeared in front of the camera at all.

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning of the show, when Elizabeth and her mother are having tea before they both go off to work, for a couple of shots from in front of her, Elizabeth is holding the mug with both hands, but the shots from behind her show her holding it with one hand only.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter enters Mrs. Connelly's room, we should still be able to see Lucy who was just talking to him outside the door. But when the shot shows him entering the room, there is no sign of Lucy.

Mistake Continuity: When Carol and Carter are discussing the overdose patient with nurse Dory, Carter's crutches change position and then return to their original position, even though no one adjusted them.

Mistake Continuity: When Mark and Elizabeth are coming round the corner to enter the hospital, Mark says, "Remind me again why you invited her to stay with you", and he has one arm around her and in the other hand he's holding a newspaper. As the shot changes when they go round the corner, his arm is no longer around her and both hands are on the newspaper. There was no time for the switch.

Mistake Continuity: When Mark gets up from the snowbank and chases Elizabeth into the ER, his red bag is over his right arm. When the shot changes to show him entering the hospital, his bag is over his left arm - he wouldn't have had time to change it.

Be Patient (season 6, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: When Luka is accusing the man who hit the little girl, he places his hand on the guy's chest and says "and you just drove off - hit and run?"; the shot changes and his hand is off to the side, no where near the man's chest.

Mistake Continuity: Near the end of the show, Mark is talking to his father, who is putting his bathrobe on; he has one arm in the sleeve but as Mark says, "I need to talk to you", his father turns towards him and the bathrobe is nowhere to be seen - a couple of seconds later he starts to put it on again.

Under Control (season 6, episode 16)

Mistake Revealing: Near the beginning of the show, Mark's father puts a bulb into an old slide projector. Then there is a small explosion with smoke and flames - watched carefully, we can see are actually coming from the other side of the projector - the flames can be seen shooting parallel and close to the floor, which wouldn't have happened if the explosion actually came from the projector.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter picks up his crutches from the floor of the lounge, his hand is near the crossbars. When he hoists himself up, the shot shows his hand near the top of the crutches.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter leans his crutches against the lockers in the lounge, we can see two pictures taped to his locker. However, after he picks his stuff up off the floor, the pictures have mysteriously disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: When Carter goes into the lounge, he leans his crutches against the lockers and then moves his bag off his shoulder. One crutch falls to the floor, then the bag, then the other crutch. When the shot changes to show these items on the floor, the bag is lying neatly on top of the crutches - an impossibility due to the way they all fell.

Viable Options (season 6, episode 17)

Mistake Continuity: Luka is in talking to the first possible kidney transplant patient - he puts his pen into his pocket and is holding the chart in his other hand, also up by his chest. As he says "Minneapolis", the shot changes and we see him put his pen in his pocket again and his chart is down by his waist - there was no time for the shift.

Mistake Continuity: As Luka talks to the kidney patient, he is holding his chart to his chest. But several times during the scene, when the shot is on the patient, his hands are at his waist, but at other times they are folded in front of him.

The Fastest Year (season 6, episode 19)

Mistake Continuity: When Carol and Luka are sitting in Wrigley Field she has a Diet Coke can in her hand. But when she goes to stand up, she leans down and picks up the can of Coke from the floor - even though at no time did she put it down there.

Such Sweet Sorrow (season 6, episode 21)

Mistake Continuity: After Carter pulls the IV out of the patient who was allergic to sulfa, Malik asks, "Where's all the blood coming from?" and we see the patient's arm outstretched, bleeding from where the IV was. Carter says, "She must have pulled the IV out", and we see her arm folded up over her stomach - there was no time for the change in position.

Sand and Water (a.k.a. Way Too Soon) (season 7, episode 2)

Mistake Continuity: When Mark is standing in his kitchen talking to Elizabeth, the position of his hand on his cereal bowl changes from shot to shot.

Rescue Me (season 7, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: When the man who was hit by a driver while on his bike, was being taken to the trauma room he is bumped by someone and blood starts spurting everywhere, including on Maggie, who is wearing Abby's coat. In the very next frame, the coat is clean with no blood on it at all, with no time for Maggie to have changed the coat.

Mistake Continuity: in the scene where Dr. Benton is getting Reese ready for day care in the staff lounge and is talking to Dr. Finch, the shot shows Reese with his left hearing aid out of his ear, hanging down then when the angle changes it shows his hearing aid back in his ear without Dr. Benton putting it back in or touching it at all.

Survival of the Fittest (season 7, episode 17)

Mistake Continuity: When Carter is talking to the boy who has asthma, at one point he says something like "I'm trying to help," notice the tube is not in the boy's mouth. The angle then changes, and he is holding the tube in his mouth instantly.

Sailing Away (season 7, episode 19)

Mistake Continuity: When Carter and Abby drive up to the motel that Maggie is holed up in in Oklahoma, the rental car they are driving has no front license plate. When they pull up to Abby's apartment the next evening, in the same rental car, there is a front plate on the car and the plate is from Illinois.

Blood Sugar Sex Magic (season 8, episode 3)

Mistake Continuity: The Doctor treating the woman in a corset getting a breathing treatment removes her stethoscope from around her neck twice as the other doctor walks away.

Mistake Revealing: As Carter walks into the baby's hospital room to see why it is "crashing." In the long shots the baby is obviously a doll, and its mouth is closed even though it is crying.

Never Say Never (season 8, episode 4)

Mistake Character mistake: In the season 8 episode 'Never Say Never,' In the opening scene before the credits, Dr. Susan Lewis returns to the ER to meet with Mark Greene for lunch. She is standing at the admit. desk and asks Frank, then Luca where she can find Dr. Green. The shot then pans out to a view of her back, exposing the curtain areas. In that shot, Dr. Green walks right past her, no more than 10 feet away. Due to their angles, there is no possible way neither of them would have not seen each other at that moment, yet he walks past, and she continues her hunt for him.

A River in Egypt (season 8, episode 12)

Mistake Continuity: Abby's neighbours' are named Joyce and Brian, but in one scene Joyce calls him Brett.

It's All in Your Head (season 8, episode 15)

Mistake Other: In the opening sequence, there is an aerial shot where the camera pans over Central Park in New York City. The trees are full of leaves and some are changing color. The problem is that it is February when this episode is taking place, and the trees would have no leaves left on them.

Secrets and Lies (season 8, episode 16)

Mistake Factual error: When the man is brought into the ER after an encounter gone wrong with a dominatrix,Susan checks one eye and announces 'Pupils are equal and reactive' then proceeds to check the other eye.After checking one eye there is no way she would know that the patients pupillary reaction was equal.

Bygones (season 8, episode 17)

Mistake Revealing: Gallant is watching over some duck eggs that are about to hatch. At the end of the episode, two of the ducklings have hatched and Gallant is showing them to Carter and Susan. An unhatched egg falls out of Gallant's bundle and smashes on the street.The smashed egg has a large yellow yolk and clear fluid, like an egg in a grocery store. But an egg that close to hatching would have almost no yolk remaining and an almost fully developed duckling inside.

The Letter (season 8, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: When Carter and Abby are kind of fighting outside, when Carter is carrying Abby back to the car,from the front shot he threw her over his left shoulder, but a second later, from the rear view when he drops her she is on his right shoulder.

Lockdown (season 8, episode 22)

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When the two lawyers were wheeled in by ambulance riding on the same gurney entered the ER the male had a bandage on his foot because they had been walking on hot coals. The hospital staff smelled smoke coming from the bandage on the male lawyers foot. It burst into flames and Abby used a Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher. Something other than powder came out because the dry chemical powder would have made a large cloud of actor choking dust all over the set. The use of a C02 would have been a better choice. You would still get the fire fighting effect with out the mess.

Tell Me Where It Hurts (season 9, episode 7)

Mistake Continuity: In this episode Kovac has a patient who needs eye surgery. While at County General, Kovac says that the patient is 16 years old. Later, when Kovac goes to the golf course to get the doctor who does the surgery, he says the patient is 14.

Now What? (season 10, episode 1)

Mistake Continuity: The first scene shows a family climbing into a gold Volvo 240 estate car, woman driving and children in the back. The following crash scene involving the same family where the car flips and is impaled by a truck is a gold Volvo 740 estate car.

Out of Africa (season 10, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: Coop (new resident) has to have a dressing put on his face while a burn victim is being treated. In a later scene, he's assisting treating another patient and the dressing is gone. But a few minutes later, the patient dies and Coop's dressing is back.

Missing (a.k.a. Mistaken Identity, a.k.a. Identity Crisis) (season 10, episode 9)

Mistake Factual error: The kid from the car accident has had an orthopedic device called a halo put onto his head in order to immobilize his head and injured spine. This item is screwed directly into the skull and is very secure. However, when the doctors are giving the boy CPR, the halo stays stationary but the child's head moves back and forth inside of it. The halo should have kept his head still, or his head would have moved only if the halo moved.

An Intern's Guide to the Galaxy (season 11, episode 5)

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Dubenko is explaining a chemical reaction to the other doctors he starts to write on the wall. In the first shot he writes the following: 2H+ + H then the camera focuses on his audience and we hear continuing writing, then the camera cuts back to Dubenko when on the wall the following is written: 2H+ -> A.

You Are Here (season 11, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: Early in this episode when Dr. Kovac is shaving in the bathroom, the shaving foam on his skin is changing during shots, most noticeably in the region of his ear.

Status Quo (season 14, episode 11)

Mistake Continuity: Sam's hand instantly changes position after a camera cut, from her chest to on her hip. This is at the start when she says, "Shower sleep - that's more my style."

Mistake Plot hole: Jeannie is debating if her son needs an MRI or a CAT scan, She didn't want the CAT scan because of the iodine, they decided to give him the CAT scan and he immediately goes into the machine. He never got the Iodine and it would take about 10 minutes after the iodine before the test starts.

Owner of a Broken Heart (season 14, episode 14)

Mistake Continuity: When Morris is on the bed following his shock there are three point of view (POV) shots. Morris on the bed, Morris's POV of the medical staff hovering over him and a shot from behind the staff looking down on Morris. The placement of characters is misaligned between views, most notably when the shot is from behind the staff looking down: there is a sizable gap between the two on the left and right, where as from Morris's POV they are clustered close together with no gaps between the staff members.

Shifting Equilibrium (season 15, episode 20)

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Rasgotra puts her name up on the wall of plaques, her arm is up. Camera cuts and it is back down instantly.
