Trivia
The character of Haleh was supposed to appear in this episode but was written out, and with good reason. This episode picks up right where the previous season's finale left off, but the actress who plays Haleh had lost over 100 pounds over the summer hiatus. See more...

starring Alex Kingston, Anthony Edwards, George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Parminder Nagra (add more)
Continuity: Abbie is asking Peter and Carter questions about infant developmental stages and they are standing up straight next to the crib. When she says "don't worry, Dr. Benton", the shot shows Peter with one elbow draped over the crib and Carter is leaning over with arms folded. They could not have changed so quickly in real time.
Continuity: Mark is watching Susan get on the helicopter and he hooks his Flight Physician jacket over his finger so it is hanging over his shoulder completely down his back. However, the shot from behind shows the jacket partially draped over his left shoulder - then it goes back to being down his back.
Continuity: Carter is working on a patient who has swallowed a lot of taffy - he is sitting behind his head with both hands working on his mouth. But when Anspaugh walks in he suddenly has one elbow up in the air and the other hand wrapped around the patient's chin. There was no time for the change in position.
Plot hole: When Mark slips and falls in the staff lounge, he puts both hands on the table to catch himself - but we can see him (the actor) quite deliberately lower his head to one hand - this is supposedly where he cuts himself, but he actually hits his hand and not the table. This would not produce the deep cut he ended up with. Also, the head makes contact on the left of his forehead and he ends up with a cut on the right. And when we actually see the cut, it is vertical and logic tells us that it would have been impossible for him to have a vertical cut from the angle he fell.
Revealing: When Mark goes to treat his cut, he leaves the lounge with a couple of tissues held to his head. He gets some supplies and puts a supposedly fresh piece of gauze to his forehead - however the gauze already has some "blood" on it - a feature the camera obviously wasn't supposed to catch. When Jeanie comes over to check it out, he pulls the gauze away from himself and - voila - there's the bloodstain.
Continuity: When Carter and Doyle are running down a corridor to the patient having a heart attack, the camera follows them along the floor and you can see several coloured lines going down the hall. After we see this, they burst through a double door, and if you look behind them you cannot see these lines anymore; they've simply vanished.
Continuity: While Carol is trying to save Mr. Novotny's life, Mrs. Novotny's hair alternates from being loose and hanging over her cheeks to being neatly tucked back into her bun. In fact, a few minutes later when Carol asks for her keys, her hair looks just-brushed shiny and newly coiffed - it's unlikely she would have fussed over her hair at this stressful time.
