SpongeBob SquarePants (1999) - 78 mistakes in series 1

Continuity: In "Plankton", when Plankton says tomorrow is his birthday, he is near Spongebob's thumb. When the camera zooms in on Plankton, he is instantly in the middle of Spongebob's hand.

Character mistake: In "Plankton" when Spongebob is in Plankton's lab, he says the ingredients in a Krabby Patty. He doesn't mention the secret sauce.

Continuity: In "Plankton", when Plankton is controlling Spongebob, Spongebob goes to put his pants on, but Plankton has him walk through them. As they're walking towards the pants, the tie is red. As they're walking through the pants, the tie turns black. As they walk away from the pants, the tie is red again.

Audio problem: In "Plankton" in the beginning, when Spongebob is outside with Mr. Krabs, Spongebob laughs. His laugh sounds different that how it does in the rest of the show.

Audio problem: In "Jellyfishing", in the beginning, when Squidward walks out of his house with his bike, Spongebob says "Hey, Squidward" but his mouth is saying something different.

Continuity: In "Bubblestand" after Squidward blows the huge bubble, he tells Spongebob and Patrick that the ability to blow bubbles is in his genes. If you look at the position of the bubblestand sign, the sign is facing the direction Squidward is talking. The sign had always been facing the street, which means that Squidward was actually talking towards the street, when Spongebob and Patrick are actually to his right.

Continuity: In Jellyfishing, when Patrick puts the net in Squidward's hand, at first it is in his left hand, but when he gets the jellyfish on the king jellyfish, it is on his right hand.

Continuity: Spongebob crashes through Squidward's house, and his bedroom is on the bottom floor. But in "Shanghied" after Squidward exits the fly of doom, you can see his bedroom is on the top floor, as it is in other episodes.

Plot hole: When SpongeBob goes to Sandy's house, he blows a chocolate bubble with the shape of a heart. Sandy opens a little door and the heart comes in. But, if the heart enters, don't you think that water would have also entered?

Audio problem: In the scene where Spongebob is falling into Gary's dream, Spongebob is screaming for at least one second after he hits the ground.

Continuity: When Spongebob is talking about Annoy Squidward Day, you see a calendar with 28 days, indicating that it's February, but the empty picture on the wall says January.

Continuity: In episode 1-7, Hall Monitor, Patrick says Spongebob is at the intersection of Conch and Coral, and we then see the street sign. However when we see Spongebob standing on the road, there is only one road, and no intersection.

Continuity: When SpongeBob asks Squidward to play his clarinet better, he is wearing his night shirt which is purple, but in the next shot he is wearing his normal shirt which is brown.

Continuity: When all of Spongebob's friends are formed around him, there's one scene where Pearl's hat disappears and then reappears, so for a few seconds she's completely bald. Her hair isn't even there.

Continuity: When Spongebob first shows the Patrick the technique for bubble-blowing, there are two red corals in the background - one on his right and one on his left. Later, when he shows Squidward the technique the red coral on the left side of the screen disappears.

Continuity: In Plankton, when SpongeBob steps on Plankton, he steps on him with his left foot, except he pulls Plankton off of his right foot.

Continuity: A mistake that's complicated to say but I'll try. We see Spongebob in his long legs walk over to Mr. Krabs' house, then we see the door from inside the house. Through the window we see Spongebob's long legs, yet we hear him spring boing his way over when we see them already there. This MIGHT count as both a continuity mistake and an audio problem, but I've submitted it using Continuity.

Audio problem: In the episode "Rock Bottom" when Spongebob says "Another funtastic day at glove world," near the beginning, if you watch Spongebob's mouth, it only says "Another funtastic." It never says "day at glove world."

Revealing: In "Culture Shock" when Spongebob takes the green fish's order, he has a pencil tucked in his ear, but he doesn't have an ear, so it's just floating in thin air.

Revealing: When Squidward is running to catch Spongebob, the people in the background and the foreground just repeat over and over (like the fish in the pink in the front is seen about three times) almost like it is a loop.
