Arrival

Mistake Factual error: In the opening credits for episode 5-1: "Arrival," Kristin Kreuk's first name was misspelled as "Kristen." The credits sequence, which was new for Season 5, was corrected by the time the second episode of the season aired. Submitted by DavidK93

Mistake Continuity: The blood on Lana's face is different then how it was in the previous episode. While at the crater in Commencement she has two distinct lines of blood on her face. One on her left cheek is thick and the one on the right cheek goes down past her lips. While at the crater in this episode the left line is then while the right line is shorter. These two scenes should be identical since Arrival picks up right after Commencement.

Mistake Factual error: Jor-El tells Clark that he has to return to the Fortress by sundown or face the consequences. Later, Lex tells Chloe that they're in the Yukon, implying that the Fortress of Solitude is in the Arctic. Since the events of this episode take place in the summer, Clark should have had plenty of time to help out in Smallville - the Arctic enjoys permanent daylight during the summer.

Mistake Continuity: When Clark's parent show up at the house Clark hurries up and acts busy. He grabs 4 boards and moves them from one part of the kitchen to the other and leans them up against the wall. When Clark turns around to face his parents there are only 2 boards leaning on the wall.

Mistake Plot hole: Chloe has to use Lex's thumbprint to access the safe inside level 3. She gets his fingerprints by lifting it off of the flashlight he picked up for her earlier in the caves. The problem is when Lex picked up the flashlight and gave it to Chloe he had only touched the back half of the flashlight, but when Chloe lifts Lex's print she gets it from the opposite end. Since Lex did not touch that end there should be no fingerprints for her to lift and use on the security door.

Hidden

Mistake Continuity: When Gabriel shows up to help Chloe the shadow of his bike shows it to be about noon. According to the show it should only be between 6:30 to 7:30am.

Aqua

Mistake Continuity: When Lois and Arthur are sitting at the end of the dock, (before Arthur begins to hear the piercing ringing sound) the position of the bikini lace hanging down Lois' back keeps changing between shots.

Mistake Continuity: The water level in the glass that Lex taunts Aquaman with changes levels throughout the scene.

Exposed

Mistake Continuity: When Clark first enters the club, the stripper on stage is taking her top off, then in the next shots of her, she still has her top on.

Splinter

Mistake Continuity: When Clark's truck stops rolling over the hood is stuck open. As Clark pops up from the front seat the hood is down for the camera to get a shot of Clark.

Mistake Continuity: Clark is poisoned by a silver kryptonite splinter. When Clark is stabbed, the splinter is in his left index finger. Then, in the scene with Fine after class, (less than twenty minutes later,) Clark is seen rubbing his right index finger.

Mistake Revealing: After Lana is warned by Chloe that Clark has gone all 'Captain Paranoid', she examines the silver 'meteor rock' more closely. We see a shot of her hand holding the 'meteor rock' but the hand that is shown is obviously not Kristin Kreuk's hand.

Solitude

Mistake Continuity: Chloe is sneaking around inside the warehouse that Lex is using to hide the space ship. After she is found by a security guard she turns back around to look in where the ship is. When she does a shot from her POV shows the fan blades spinning faster then they were in the shot before and after when we are looking at Chloe through the fan.

Mistake Continuity: At the Daily Planet, after the opening credits, Clark tells Chloe that he found his mom unconscious in a field. He did not find her in a field, he found her in the driveway in front of the house. Later, at the hospital, Clark tells his father that he found her in the driveway.

Lexmas

Mistake Continuity: As Chloe is trying to get Clark to help her deliver presents Clark says "Chloe, you didn't have to go there." Right before he says this the two of them start rounding the corner to go down the next hallway. As he is saying the line they are back in the first hallway and start rounding the corner again.

Mistake Revealing: During the scene with Lana hemorrhaging after giving birth, and Lex being escorted out, we see him pounding on the door and disturbing the blinds, yet in all other shots of hospital rooms in Smallville, the blinds are on the insides of the rooms, not the outside of them.

Mistake Plot hole: Clark is delivering presents for Chloe. In the overhead shots looking down on Metropolis he super speeds from building to building and he only spends like one second in each building before going to the next one. This doesn't match what is shown while we see him leave presents by the various trees inside the apartments. In those interior shots he spends 5-10 seconds in each room. The overhead shots are not sped up. Not only do these times not match up but he would also be slowed down to open the doors or he would constantly be breaking them down.

Mistake Factual error: In the 5th season episode "Lexmas," Chloe says she needs Clark to deliver the Daily Planet's Toys For Tots contribution because of a Teamsters' Strike. However, the Toys For Tots program is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and collection and distribution is handled by Marines and Reserves. The Teamsters have nothing to do with it. Fanatic

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the episode an announcer calls Jonathan's name and he appears almost immediately. Later on we see what happens backstage and when we hear the announcer call Jonathan's name. The second time through he has time to say a few last words with Lois, go to the edge of the curtain and take a breath before he steps out on stage. The timing of the two scenes don't match.

Mistake Plot hole: At the start of the episode Samantha is shown putting the sniper rifle together during the start of the speech. The second time we see this scene, after getting the backstory during the rest of the show, the scene plays out that Samantha is backstage kidnapping Lois at the start of the speech. This would mean that Samantha would have to be in two places at once and she doesn't have any powers at all.
