A Room with an Alan (season 1, episode 1)
Visible crew/equipment: When the house salesman say he loves Alan's show, a camera can be seen on the right side of the screen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan speaks to Michael outside the lift at the start of the episode, the edge of a camera can be seen to Michael's right.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan discovers the table extender, a faint shadow of a boom mic and cameraman are seen on the wall next to him.

Alan Attraction (season 1, episode 2)
Continuity: When Michael tries to take Alan's big plate, Jill holds the menu in both hands. In the next shot she is holding it in just one.
Continuity: In the scene at Radio Norwich where Alan is speaking to the other DJ through the window, the Valentine's cards on the ledge keep changing position from shot to shot.
Continuity: At the start of the episode, Alan says the time and presses the button. In the next shot his arm is lowered.
Revealing: When Alan serenades Jill, near the end of the song, the guitar player removes his hand from his guitar briefly but the guitar part continues to play (it's being synthesised as part of the keyboard's rhythm track).
Continuity: When Alan and Jill are driving, the background shows they are driving in a straight line. In the next shot, the road behind them has a visible bend in it.
Factual error: Alan takes out a member of his staff on a Valentine's Day trip. When he is in the car with her, there are some outside shots of them driving along. The problem is, on or around the 14th of February, there would be no leaves on the trees.
Continuity: When Alan puts music on in the car, both him and Jill are looking down. In the next shot they are both looking forwards.
Continuity: When Alan buys the rose, he reaches into his pocket for money, then in the next shot the waiter hands the rose to Jill and Alan does not give him any money at all.
Watership Alan (season 1, episode 3)
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan lies on the bed at the end of the episode, the shadow of a boom mic can be seen to the left of the screen.
Continuity: After the cow is dropped on Alan's boat, there is a quick scramble of shots. One of the shots shows the farmers who just dropped the cow. However, this camera shot shows them (and the bridge) as being a lot further away than they actually could be having dropped the cow only a few seconds earlier, especially given that the boat is moving slowly and appears to stop when the cow is dropped.
Basic Alan (season 1, episode 4)
Continuity: When Alan looks out of his window and sees Michael, his hands twice change positions between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan is dressed as a zombie and says nothing has been damaged, a boom mic can be seen at the top of the screen.
Continuity: When Ben and Sophie appear from the bushes, Sophie walks in front of Ben. In the next shot they are stood next to each other.
Continuity: When Alan looks out of his bedroom window, the Dictaphone vanishes from his hands between shots.
Continuity: When Alan tests his seat belt, he leans forward in front of Lynn. In the next shot he is sat back and leans forward again.
Continuity: After Alan says he's like to know what it feels like for an airbag to go off in his face, it shows a shot of Lynn. In the next shot, she is looking up and Lynn has her finger in the air.
Revealing: When Alan walks into the petrol station, he immediately has a conversation with a shop worker, however there is a huge queue visible as Alan walks in. He would not have been able to be served that quickly.
Continuity: When Alan is walking down the M11, the first shot shows a blue car driving towards him, yet in the next shot the car does not pass him.
Continuity: When Alan walks back from the petrol station down the M11, a white van drives past him, yet in the next shot the van has vanished.
Continuity: When Alan sees the staff playing charades, he turns to look at them. In the next shot he has moved about three feet closer to them.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan is dictating a message in his room, he walks pasts the TV. If you look closely you can see the reflection of the cameraman.
Continuity: At the end of the pretend gun fight between Michael and Alan, the curtain is in front of Alan's shoulder. In the next shot, the curtain is behind his back.
Continuity: In the car, after Alan asks Lynn is she has lied, he is not wearing his seat belt. In the next shot he is.
Continuity: When Alan says about putting a cone on his head in the bar, he is holding his pint on the table. In the next shot he is drinking from it.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan says he's taken apart his trouser press, a crew member can be seen in the reflection of the picture as the camera moves.
Continuity: When Alan watches Sophie and Ben kiss from his hotel window, the curtain moves between shots.
To Kill a Mocking Alan (season 1, episode 5)
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan shows the two Irish guys around Jed's house, when one of them asks why Alan has a photo of himself on the TV, part of a cameraman wearing black can be seen on the far right of the screen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan arrives at Jed's house, a boom mic is reflected in the bonnet of the car.
Visible crew/equipment: When Lynn arrives at the hotel, a boom mic can be seen in the top right of the screen.
Continuity: After Alan does the impressions of a robot, the grapefruit juice vanishes from the table for moment between shots.

Revealing: When Alan ejects the guest from his room for making a racist remark, the guest walks down the corridor towards a door. Watch as he reaches the door, he tries to open it but as it's a fake he just bangs into it. It's really funny.
Continuity: When Alan tells Lynn that Tony Haires is dead, he is touching the phone with both hands, In the next shot, his left hand is lowered.
Continuity: Just before Alan leaves the fair, there is a wide shot of him at the table. When the angle changes, the extras have moved and the sun has come out.
Visible crew/equipment: When Alan gets the phone call from Sue Cook, the cameraman can be seen in the reflection of the photo on the wall, as Alan stands up.
Continuity: When Alan says about the custard pie throwing contest, the extras stood by his table change positions between shots.

Continuity: After Alan says about the truck sliding on its side, his arm is on the top of the steering wheel. In the next shot it is on his lap.
Plot hole: When Michael tells Alan that the teacher has been told about the chalk penis on his back, he says it before the guy outside says it to the teacher.
Continuity: At the start of the episode when Alan plays the love asylum jingle, he looks down. In the next shot he looks down again.
Continuity: When the teacher tries to get into the petrol station, all of the shots of Alan from outside are completely different from inside.
Continuity: During the scene in the car before Alan crashes, there is one shot of Lyn holding her bag on her lap with the handle on her chest, then in the other camera angle the strap is gone. This happens throughout the scene.
Continuity: In the scene when his old school teacher comes in to pay for petrol, he hands Alan his credit card. The two of them chat and the teacher proceeds to leave, claiming that if the pupils need someone to talk to them about working in a petrol station, he'll be onto Alan. Alan dismisses that he works in a petrol station, and the teacher says "But I've just paid you for petrol and a packet of Minstrels." Actually he didn't, as Alan never swiped the card and the teacher left with free petrol and chocolate.
Continuity: After the air bag goes off, Alan asks why his didn't. As he says this he is holding onto the bottom of the steering wheel, but in the next shot his right arm is out straight on the edge of the window.
The Colour of Alan (season 2, episode 2)
Continuity: When Alan pierces his foot on the spike, in one shot it shows him holding onto two railings, in the next shot he is holding just one.
Continuity: When Alan introduces Lyn to Piet, Michael is looking at Piet. In the next shot he is looking at Lyn.
Continuity: When Alan does his presentation, at one point he holds onto the pedestal. In the next shot his left hand is in a completely different position.
Continuity: When Piet Morant arrives at the train station, Alan is stood with Lyn on the same side of the table. In the next shot, Alan has moved to the other side of the table.
Continuity: When Lyn shows off the torch she is sitting down. In the next shot she is standing.
Continuity: At the book signing, in the first wide shot we see of Alan, he is looking down at the book. In the next shot he is looking forwards.
Brave Alan (season 2, episode 3)
Continuity: After Dan says he has Director's beer coming out of his taps, Alan holds out his hands then lowers them. In the next shot his arms are outstretched again.
Continuity: At Dan's house when Alan watches the video, Dan looks at him with a huge grin. In the next shot, he is looking at the TV.
Continuity: When Alan is introduced to Bob Frazer, Bob's glass jumps from his right hand to his left between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: Just before Lyn sits on the whoopee cushion, a boom mic can be seen in the top left corner.
Continuity: When Dan and Kerry stop Alan from leaving, the way Kerry puts her hands on Alan's shoulders changes between shots.

Continuity: When Alan goes into the petrol station to get his video back, Michael has his hands by his sides. In the next shot he has his hands on his hips.
Continuity: When Alan says to Sonia he doesn't trust her, he puts his hands by his sides. In the next shot they are together in front of him.
Continuity: When Alan is talking to the builder, he puts a cigarette to his mouth. In the next shot it is gone.
Revealing: At the end of the episode when Alan swings on the scaffolding, he bounces against the brick wall which wobbles.
Continuity: When Alan is talking about Lyn's mum after they get back from the graveyard, Alan's arms are by his side. In the next shot his right hand is on his hip.
Continuity: In the petrol station when Michael realises his badge only says 'Michael', he looks down. In the next shot he is looking at Alan.
I Know What Alan Did Last Summer (season 2, episode 5)
Continuity: Just before Alan starts playing air guitar. He starts to tidy up, there are two plates, Alan Cleans one and the other one disappears.
