Although the show takes place in Miami, very little of it is actually filmed here, most in done in California. This is most evident when they have a beach scene. The large waves that you see on the beach are from the Pacific ocean. The waves in Miami are very small and nowhere near as large. [Actully I have been near Miami beach where alot of surfers like to ride these kinda waves, the further you go out the bigger they can get, and on some days like days with alot of wind they can reach "California" scale waves.]

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

In the episode with the airplane murder there are two big mistakes. One, they claim that oil is heavier than water, which isn't true under any circumstances. Second, they claim that keying the airplane is sending a big message to the owner. Personally, as a pilot, I have never heard of someone keying an airplane. It's a pointless gesture that not many are even going to notice, unless they're obsessive. [Oil is heavier than water. It is the density of the oil that makes it float on the top of the water. Also, these people are obsessive of their planes, that is why keying it was so personal to them.]
In episode Broken Home, the drinking glasses collected from the party home after the caterer picked them up still have alcohol in the bottom. The liquid would have dried overnight if it wasn't spilled out by the caterer collecting the glasses. No one would transport glassess full of liquid. [The liquid in the glasses is the sterile water used in the lab. Residue would still be on the glasses and Boa Vista would have used sterile water to be able to test for drugs etc.]
In Episode "Broken Home," Natalie and Ryan ask Dave Montavo if they can have a DNA sample. They would have already had his DNA from when they did the blood alcohol level test to check why they passed out in the car. [By law, they still would have to get his permission to use his blood for DNA since the blood was taken for a blood alcohol level.]
Body Count (series 1)
In this episode, a traffic surveillance camera is used to identify the person responsible for a car jacking. The camera was facing the oncoming lane, presumably to capture the front license plate of the red light violator. But FL doesn't have license plates on the front. The camera should have only seen the back of the vehicle, not the front. [The key word is PRESUMABLY. it could be possible that they are trying to capture the driver of the car which is why the camera, in this case, took TWO pictures, one when the car ENTERED the intersection and one when it was half way through.]
Spring Break (series 1)
The mould taken off of the girl's bitten leg was indented, but on the skin a bite would be indented, so the mould should be reversed [The presumption must be that they moulded and cast it again, getting back to the original shape. This would be useful for when they came across the original teeth later, so they could settle them into the bite shape for comparison.]
Kill Zone (series 1)
Slaughterhouse (series 1)
It's stated late in the show that the toddler has blood on her "from all the family members" - but the eldest brother grabbed her up and ran with her after she was standing in her mother's blood and while the father was killing brother 2 (computer and headset). She seems to wander back into the living room and acquire blood from the eldest brother, the infant (who is under brother 1 - this is weird too) and Dad, but I don't recall a scene where she goes into the room of brother 2. Can we assume that she wandered into brother 2's room at some point before leaving by the front door and there just wasn't time to write in a line and a shot to this effect, or did she in fact not carry blood from brother 2 away on her excursion and is the statement "all the family members" incorrect. [Brother 2 was shot in the back at very close range by his father, using a shotgun. The father would have been covered with the son's blood, as well as his own. When the toddler wandered back into the house from the back yard, where brother 1 took her for safety, she would have had ample opportunity to come in contact with the blood. As has been established repeatedly on the show, the lab needs only a tiny sample of blood to identify who it came from via its DNA. Therefore, the statement that she had blood on her "from all the family members" should be taken at face value.]
Urban Hellraisers (series 4)
Wolfe was shot in the eye with a nail gun in the previous episode. Yet he has no wound or scars anywhere near his eye, not even in the extreme close up we get of his eyes. That's some fast healing, eh? [Not all episodes take place as soon as the previous one has finished. Sometimes there are little clues in the episodes as to how long the case has been taking, for example in the CSI episode about the Strip Strangler Sara tells Grissom that they've been after the killer for about a month.]
All of series 6 (series 6)
In Episode 6-6 "Sunblock": When the solar eclipse is happening you see everyone looking up at it. Everyone knows you can't look at the sun during a total eclipse. [There are lots of thing we are not suppose to do, that we do, even though we know they are bad for us. Also I am sure there are some people who do not know it is dangerous to do that.]
