Plot hole: Season 5, episode 20 (My Lunch). One of Dr. Cox' patients needs a heart valve transplanted. Heart valves don't have to be transplanted from another person. They can be replaced by a metal valve, or the surgeon can create a new valve from a different part of the patient's body. There was no reason to wait for a donor valve when they had other options available.
Factual error: Season 5 - Episode 18 - My Lunch: The donor recipients all crash dramatically after the doctors discover the donor which all the organs came from had rabies. However rabies has a long incubation period, patients take days to die involving seizures and frothing at the mouth before complete organ failure takes place. The deaths of these 3 patients was not the kind of death caused by rabies.
Plot hole: In the season 5 episode "My fallen Idol", it is a key plot point that Turk has a hard time hugging guys. However in the Season 3 episode "My American Girl" Turk openly gives another surgeon a hug after J.D. makes fun of him. It is not possible for him to have changed because it shows that even before they became doctors, Turk would not hug J.D.
Continuity: Season 5-24, Episode: My Transition (1). The first time we see J.D. and the flyer about his deck, the flyer has a picture of J.D. looking straight ahead smiling and the writing on it reads "Old? Gay? Like Decks?" After J.D. rips the flyer off and shows it to the janitor, the picture of J.D. has changed to him giving a thumbs up and the writing has also changed to "Come and Chill at my big gay deck."
Continuity: When Turk goes into the room with the camcorder on the tripod, the viewer is already open from the front. However when it goes into the back shot of Turk to show Carla, the viewer is shut again. Then it goes to the front view of Turk and the camcorder, it's open again without anyone touching it.
Revealing: Watch the line appear on the wall as Kelso cuts through the wall into the "Luxury Suite." The line is being cut with a round, drywall cutting bit such as would be used with a drill or Dremel tool. You can see it spinning as the cut is made. However, when Kelso has pushed down the wall and points the tool at Cox and the Janitor, he is now holding a standard reciprocating saw with a flat blade which would cut very differently than what was shown.
Continuity: Carla and Turk's song and dance, "For The Last Time I'm Dominican", was filmed a couple of months later than the rest of the episode because actress Judy Reyes, who plays Carla, was recovering from a broken hip at the original time of shooting. Stephanie D'Abruzzo, who played the patient, was brought back in to film the scene; her hair is noticeably longer during the "Dominican" song than during the rest of the episode.
