Trivia
On 11/5/03, Mickey and Maggie are in grave danger and Hope dispatches officers and an ambulance to their house. She gives the address as "1313 Mockingbird," the same address as the Munsters. See more...
Continuity: On 11/10/04, Bonnie and Mickey's wedding ceremony began. The justice of the peace called Bonnie "Maureen Bonnie Lockhart." When Bonnie was introduced to the show she talked about how her ex-husband demeaned her by insisting on calling her by her middle name, Maureen, so her name should be Bonnie Maureen Lockhart.
Continuity: On 3/16/04, in John's hypnosis-induced vision, he reacted violently against the idea that Marlena might be the "Salem Slasher." But the serial killer has always been called either the "Salem Stalker" or just the "Salem Serial Killer." The Salem Slasher was actually the name used when Andre DiMera went on a killing spree in 1984.
Continuity: At Roman and Kate's wedding ceremony and thereafter (December, 2003 - January, 2004), Sami made frequent reference to the fact that Marlena and Roman are "still married in the eyes of God," presumably a reference to the fact that the Catholic church does not condone divorce. With no shortage of characters who wanted Sami to just shut up, why did nobody bring up the fact that Marlena married and divorced Don Craig several years before she married Roman, and is therefore married only to him "in the eyes of God" if one insists on using that standard?
Plot hole: When Lucas pretended to be the killer on 12/16/03, he said that he wanted to give Sami a scare after becoming suspicious of her when he followed her to his mother's hotel suite. But if he was following her, then how did he get to the bedroom before Sami to jump out at her? And where did he get the cloak and mask on the spur of the moment?
Factual error: Throughout the serial killer plot in the fall of 2003, Celeste often dealt tarot cards. The Death card turned up very frequently, and it was always treated as though it actually meant death. I can see how a layperson could make this mistake, but Celeste should know that the Death card simply represents transformation and is not an omen of doom.
Factual error: The Salem Police Department is grossly misusing the term "serial killer" in conjunction with the Abe Carver murder. The inaccuracies are too numerous to list, but the most obvious is the fact that the police believe that Abe was murdered by someone with a specific motive. A serial killer selects victims based on a general profile, usually in conjunction with a psychological "need" to commit the crime. The police brand the unidentified murder a serial killer based purely on the fact that they think he or she may strike again. But not every multiple murderer is a serial killer, and the police would certainly know better than to fall prey to this misnomer.
Plot hole: On 4/5/05, Rex surprises Mimi on the roof with a romantic dinner. He also plays Jesse McCartney's "Beautiful Soul," which Mimi identifies as "their song." But Rex and Mimi started to get together as a couple about two full years ago. Why would "their song" be something that was released in the last two months?
Continuity: On 2/27/04, Julie made a phone call and told the person on the other end that Doug believed he knew the serial killer's identity, and only then did she directly address the person as Marlena. On 3/1/04, when Marlena flashed back to the conversation, Julie immediately greeted her by name before explaining Doug's situation.
Plot hole: On 7/7/05, Lucas told Sami that Will had called him from summer camp to say he was having a good time but misses Sami. However, just a few episodes earlier, when it was already the same day, Sami was making an American flag dessert that she said was for Lucas and Will. So why wasn't Sami surprised to hear that Will is away from home?
Plot hole: After Doug was murdered, Belle told Shawn that Marlena could not have done it because she was with her at the time, which is a lie. Shawn believes her, though, thus quelling his suspicions that Marlena could be the killer. But there's one small problem. Shawn was with Belle on the balcony on 3/5/03 when he received his father's emergency page, leading him to call Bo and learn that his grandfather had been murdered. So there's no way Belle could claim to have been with her mother when the murder occurred; Shawn was with Belle himself.
Revealing: On 2/17/06, Kate was looking at a picture of Carrie and Austin on her cell phone. The cell phone wasn't held perfectly still, and whenever it moved there was a jerky movement of the picture. The picture had been added in post-production, rather than actually being displayed on the phone, and it became obvious every time the image moved.
Continuity: On 6/20/05, Bo and Billie talk about how they are going to look for their daughter Georgia via a website for "adopted children who have turned eighteen and are looking for their biological parents." However, Georgia was supposedly still sixteen in the fall of 2004, per Billie's statements, so she couldn't have been more than seventeen at the time this conversation happened.
Continuity: The bathroom in Belle's penthouse underwent a bit of unexplained remodeling. In March of 2004, when Jan tried to electrocute Belle, Belle was taking a bath in a freestanding tub in the middle of the room. Later that year, after Philip had moved in, the bathroom had a regular shower and the room wasn't even large enough to have accomodated the tub we had seen before.
Continuity: At the end of the 3/1/04 episode, Mimi was talking to her mother Bonnie on the phone. Bonnie told Mimi that she needed her to come home to help her right away because her son Patrick was back in town. Mimi asked why her mother needed her help with that. We didn't hear Bonnie's end of that conversation, but whatever she told Mimi alarmed her enough to cut her romantic evening with Rex short. At the beginning of the 3/2/04 episode, Mimi was back at her mother's house, but was still asking to know why it was so important for her to be home, as if Bonnie hadn't told her over the phone.
