Revealing mistake: After Homer brings Santa's Little Helper home, Homer and Marge hug, and if you look behind them, the background is upside down. There is a picture hanging upside down, and there is a lamp which seems to be hanging from the ceiling. Then in the next shot, the background is normal.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode where Homer is on the field talking to Buck the baseball player, the stadium is crowded. When Homer and Marge are leaving in their baseball golf car one second later, the stadium is empty.

Continuity mistake: In the episode "Bonfire of the Manatees" the scene where Marge is in the car upset at Homer, the door to their house changes from open to closed then open again between shots.

Homer's Barbershop Quartet - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: When you see a shot of the church from outside in the scene where the bee sharps sing there, look closely at the sign. You can see that it says 'Also: The Bee Sharps', only they don't name themselves that until later on in that episode.

Continuity mistake: When Maggie goes through the checkout at the beginning, Marge's trolley is grey and has a red handle. But in the next shot, when Maggie pops out of the bag, the trolley has no red handle, and is a turquoise colour.

Continuity mistake: When Homer walks out Circus of Values with his purchases, he bumps into Flanders, and all the presents scatter everywhere. Watch out for a red present with a green bow that goes flying near the left hand side of the screen. As soon as it hits the ground it turns into a pink box with a white bow wrapped around it, with no shot changes.

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Audio problem: When Lisa rides past on her Pony, Ralph is sitting on the fence with another boy who says, 'She really tamed that horse', Ralph says, 'Yes but who can tame her?'. However he speaks with a deeper voice as opposed to his higher squeaky voice, and sounds exactly like Nelson Muntz.

The Bonfire Of The Manatees - S17-E1

Factual error: (Episode 17-1) Alec Baldwin, as an expert on manatees, says that they are also called dugongs. Manatees are found in Atlantic coastal waters and in the Amazon and tributaries. The dugong is a distinct species found in the coastal waters of the Indian and southwest Pacific oceans.

Continuity mistake: Bart yanks Homer's beard off in the mall, Homer then takes Bart into Santa's workshop. When they are inside Santa's workshop, Homer's beard is back on, despite the fact that he didn't put it back on, he let it fall to the ground when Bart pulled it off.

E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt) - S11-E5

Plot hole: When the Simpsons run away from the duel, they go to Homer's childhood farmhouse. But Homer and Grandpa burned the farmhouse down in the episode "Grandpa vs. Sexual Inadequacy".

Continuity mistake: In the bit where they sit on the sofa at the start of each episode, there is one rather long one where it starts off with the Simpsons dancing in a line, then gradually evolves into a circus with elephants and men dancing around fire. Look closely in between Homer's right leg and the dancing woman on his right. There is a pile of books on the little shelf underneath the lamp and telephone, and just as the camera starts zooming out from the line of dancing, the orange book on the left noticeably changes to purple.

Moaning Lisa - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: Marge drops Lisa off at school for band practice, and she walks up to the entrance steps, and then converses with two boys. Then her teacher comes up, and Marge gets annoyed. When she comes to grab Lisa back into the car, Lisa is right by the roadside, along with the two boys and the music teacher.

Continuity mistake: In the introduction for all episodes, initially Maggie's seat is light purple. However, in the wider shot of her and Marge, the seat changes to a burgundy colour.

Continuity mistake: The notepad Homer draws the blueprint on changes from having content on it to being blank so he can draw on it.

Burns' Heir - S5-E18

Continuity mistake: When Smithers finds Burns drowning in the bathtub, he throws the rag. When the rag hits the floor, it magically disappears.

Factual error: After Bart's prank call with Moe, you can see Bart and Lisa laughing. However the telephone's wire does not connect to the receiver.

Continuity mistake: Just before Homer tries biting off the boot, he is wearing a watch. But from then on it disappears off his arm until he is trying to figure out how many hours it is from 9-5.

There's Something About Marrying - S16-E10

Audio problem: In the episode where Homer is hosting gay marriages, at one point Homer is strangling Bart and tells Lisa to hold his spot. You can hear Lisa say, "Why you little," and you can hear Bart choking, but neither of their mouths is moving.
