At the end of the episode, when Uptown Girl has finished playing, you can hear Homer mutter under the song, 'I buried Flanders'. This is a Beatles reference as in one song John Lennon sang Cranberry Sauce and many fans misconstrued it as 'I buried Paul', as there was a rumour at the time that Paul McCartney was dead and had been replaced by a look-a-like. Other: As Kang and Kodos fly away from Earth in their spaceship, you can see that the Earth has been coloured wrong. The continents are blue, and the sea is green.

Revealing: When Jimbo and Kearney take Homer's candy, it is obviously night time. However if you watch the outside as Homer closes the door before he says "Lousy punks" it shows a daytime sky.

Continuity: When Bart gets on the bus, we see one of the twins sitting near the front of the bus. In the next shot, we see both twins sitting at the back. The shot after that, we see the twin near the front again, running to the back.

Continuity: When Homer gets turned into a jack-in-the-box, we don't hear the chair he was just holding crash onto the floor. Bart doesn't make it vanish, as we see it on the floor when Homer is turned into a jack-in-the-box.

Other: As Mr. Burns' fireplace rotates, the items on the top should have fallen off, but they didn't. They also disappear/reappear between frames.

Continuity: In Dr. Marvin Monroe's office, in the first shot, we can see a garbage can beside his desk. It disappears for the rest of the scene. The desk also moves forward.

Lisa's Pony (season 3, episode 8)

Audio problem: When Lisa rides past on her Pony, Ralph is sitting on the fence with another boy who says, 'She really tamed that horse', Ralph says, 'Yes but who can tame her?'. However he speaks with a deeper voice as opposed to his higher squeaky voice, and sounds exactly like Nelson Muntz.
