The Simpsons (1989) - 17 easter eggs

Directed by Matt Groening, starring Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Julie Kavner, Kelsey Grammer, Nancy Cartwright, Phil Hartman, Yeardley Smith

Easter eggs are hidden bits on DVDs which aren't advertised on the cover, but if you know where to look can provide all sorts of fun extras.

All of series 1 (series 1)

Entry "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season." Go to the special features on disc 3. Go into 'Art of the Simpsons' on the second page. On that menu, highlight 'Extra Features' and press left to highlight Bart's comic book. If you press enter on your remote, you get to view a gallery of old magazine covers.
Entry "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season." On disc 3, go to the special features menu. Click "next" to go to the second page. Highlight "Some Enchanted Evening Script" and press left to highlight Bart's T-shirt. If you press enter on your remote, you get to watch an ABC news story on how elementary schools ban Bart Simpson T-shirts.

All of series 2 (series 2)

Entry In the Simpsons second series, insert Disc 3. Select the episode "Bart's Dog gets an F." Then go into Language select and you'll see Santa's Little Helper with a little picture. Click up then right, to highlight that picture. Hit enter, and you'll see a sketch of "The many heads of Bart." Submitted by Hamster
Entry On Disc 3, select "Old Money." In the episode menu, press Down and Left to highlight Grandpa's fez. Press Enter for sketches of a gag featuring Grandpa and his fez.

All of series 3 (series 3)

Entry On Disc 3, at the Main Menu, type in 84763 (this is Maggie's cost; see opening credits) and you will automatically be taken to an Audio Outtakes menu. (Number keys are obviously necessary.)
Entry On Disc 4, go to the Special Features from the main menu. On this menu, type in 742 (the Simpsons' house number) to view some hidden sketches. (Note: You may have to press Enter between each of the numbers.).
Entry On four episodes, there are secret commentaries. Select one of the following episodes and then select the Special Features menu for that episode. Press '10' at this screen to be taken to a new screen where it offers a hidden second commentary with one of the executive producers. This only works on "Stark Raving Dad" (Disc 1), "Lisa's Pony" (Disc 2), "Separate Vocations" and "Bart the Lover" (both disc 3).

All of series 4 (series 4)

Entry On Disc 3 of the Complete Fourth Season, select the Extras for Homer's Triple Bypass. On this menu, press '2', 'Enter', '40', 'Enter' to make a pencil appear in the bottom right corner. Press 'Enter' to view some secret sketches of Homer. (Note: for some remotes, to get the '40' the +10 button may need to be pressed.).
Entry On Disc 3 of the Complete Fourth Season, select the Extras for Marge vs. the Monorail. On the episode screen, press '1' then 'Enter' on the remote, and then '50' and 'Enter' (some remotes may require the +10 button to be pressed for this). A microphone will appear in the bottom right corner. Press Enter to view the episode with a secret second commentary.
Entry On Disc 4 of the Complete Fourth Season, select the Extras menu for Krusty Gets Kancelled. On this menu, press '35', 'Enter' and a pencil will appear in the bottom right corner. Press Enter to view some secret sketches from the episode. (Note: on some remotes, to enter '35' the +10 button may need to be pressed first.).

All of series 5 (series 5)

Entry On Disc 4 on the Complete Fifth Season, select "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Badasssss Song", and up in the top left corner should be the words '100th episode'. Highlight and select them. You'll get a showing of the episode's animatic with a secret commentary by Matt Groening and most of the show's animators about the production of the episode. They also talk about the effect of the California earthquake on the show's production.
Entry On the main menu of every disc it is possible to press up and select certain objects on the picture, and activating these causes an animation involving them. Also if you leave the menu idle for a while animations will happen using the characters or events of the episodes featured on the disc.
Entry If you go to "Deep Space Homer" special features (disk 3) go to play episode with commentary then press right. An ear will pop up, when you press it you will hear an audio outtake featuring James Taylor.
Entry On Disk 3 of Season 5, highlight "Bart gets Famous" and then press up on the remote, this will highlight the Lisa Lionheart doll, which will say a Malibu Stacy phrase heard in the "Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy" episode.

All of series 6 (series 6)

Entry On Disc 1 of the Complete Sixth Season, there is the option to access a hidden sketch. If you watch "Treehouse of Horror V" with either the commentary or the option for deleted scenes on, when the shot of the Simpson house transforming into different forms is shown, a picture of a pencil appears in the lower right corner. Press 'Enter' to see a sketch of the Simpson house made entirely out of squirrels.

The Twisted World of Marge Simpson (series 8)

Entry On disc 2 of season 8, highlight episode menu for "The twisted world of Marge Simpson", then press up to select the button on the projector; this will access a hidden deleted scene featuring "the Investorettes".

Lisa the Simpson (series 9)

Entry If you watch this episode until the brain teaser is shown, then at this moment solve the brain teaser (ie press 6 on the DVD remote) then you open a menu to activate a secret commentary.
