Trivia: In the home movie of Radar's family, Radar's mother is played by Gary Burghoff, who plays Radar.
Trivia: While Hawkeye, Radar, and BJ are in General Dickering's jeep, when they meet up with some GIs on the road Hawkeye asks them, "Anybody here from Maine?" and one answers that he's from Vermont, to which Hawkeye responds, "Close, but no cigar." What's funny is that earlier in the series Hawkeye has said that he's from Vermont not Maine.
Trivia: When Igor salutes Hawkeye and BJ as they enter the Post-Op, he bangs the stove, making a "Doinggg" sound. Together with the crisp parade-ground salute, it's really hilarious once you have spotted it. If you wonder whether or not it was deliberate, you can almost see Igor slipping something into his pocket as he exits. (00:04:35)
Trivia: Toward the end, as you hear clips from the characters, they show a chopper landing at an Aid Station. If you look closely, you can see the shot is re-used from the opening of the earlier episode "Smilin' Jack".
Trivia: Frank says "Give me a man when he's 28, and he's mine for life." When this episode aired, Mike Farrell (Capt. B.J. Hunnicutt) was 36.
Answer: The C-42 was a military variant of the Douglas DC-2. Very few C-42's were built, so it's questionable that Potter would specifically have seen that particular model, but, given his military background, it's not entirely unreasonable that he might use the military designation even when the aircraft in question is actually a civilian DC-2.
