Letters - S9-E2

Factual error: In this episode, the regulars receive and respond to letters from a Fourth-Grade class in Hawkeye's home town. Charles receives one from a little girl who says she's sent him a birch leaf. Unfortunately, the leaf he removes from her glassine envelope is a maple leaf. (Note: there was no indication that this was supposed to be her mistake.)

Sons and Bowlers - S10-E19

New this week Other mistake: Looking at the pins when Margaret bowls at the end, the 5 pin slides backwards towards the camera, but not fast enough to bounce off anything and then fly in from off screen. Granted this was done in slow motion, but the physics don't seem to add up.

'Twas the Day after Christmas - S10-E9

New this week Continuity mistake: As Potters is talking to Winchester, he's pointing at Charles to emphasize his point. As the angle changes, his hand is suddenly lowered, and he points to the cook.

Movie Nut

That's Show Biz - S10-E1

New this week Continuity mistake: As Potter pours the drinks for himself and Brandy, the glasses have enough for a sip. In the close up, they're a quarter to half full.

That's Show Biz - S10-E1

New this week Continuity mistake: In Potter's tent, he holds the door for Brandy to enter. In the close up, you see him drop his left hand to close the door after she passes him and inside. After the angle change, his hand is back on the door, and she's just even with him walking forward.

Give 'em Hell, Hawkeye - S10-E4

New this week Continuity mistake: After announcing that the visiting Colonel likes the project, Potter's left arm is at his side. A second later in the close up, it's behind his back.

Goodbye, Farewell and Amen - S11-E16

New this month Deliberate mistake: BJ mentions to Charles that if they don't sign the armistice it will be the second time in 2 years and then he will miss his daughter Erin's second birthday. This is BJs 7th season and when he arrived at the beginning of season 4, Erin was already born, making it absurd that seven years later she could still be one year old. Because the real war lasted 3 years and the show 11, there are obviously some errors like this that can't be avoided but this was blatantly egregious.

Dear Dad, Again - S1-E18

Other mistake: Near the end of the episode Hawkeye is finishing his letter to his father. He writes "kiss mom and sis", but later in the series we find out that his mother died when he was a kid and he doesn't have any siblings.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the first season of M*A*S*H, Hawkeye mentions that his father lives in Vermont, in the later seasons his father lives in Crab Apple Cove, Maine and has never left there in 30 years.

Rally Round the Flagg, Boys - S7-E21

Revealing mistake: When Col. Flagg holds his pistol up to stop Mr. Pak Sr. from leaving, you can see there is no magazine in the pistol.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In an early episode Hawkeye receives a sweater knitted by his sister. Subsequently in the show he has always been an only child.

Operation Noselift - S2-E18

Revealing mistake: When Henry is trying to convince Baker how wonderful the camp is, Henry says that they "had 'The Thing' and 'The Blob' both in one week". "The Blob" was made in 1958. This season of M*A*S*H is set in 1951 and 1952 (and the war ended in 1953).

jle

Dear Dad - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When you see the shadow of the helicopter on the ground, there is no shadow of Hawkeye who is supposedly standing in the door getting ready to be lowered to the ground.

The Colonel's Horse - S5-E11

Factual error: While on the phone, Radar spells out BJ's father-in-law's last name, "H-A-Y-D-E-N" to which Hawkeye quips, "M-O-U-S-E" parodying the old line from the Mickey Mouse club. The M.M. club didn't air until 1955.

Bob Blumenfeld

Show generally

Other mistake: Across the show, several times doctors looking at an x-ray picture say things like, "Looks like he swallowed a whole junkyard" or "His belly is full of shrapnel." In fact, shrapnel, being metal fragments, should show up as clear white spots on the x-ray pictures, but none of that is visible in any of the x-rays shown throughout the show.

Alcoholics Unanimous - S3-E9

Revealing mistake: When the tent roof caves in and the projector shorts out in a gush of water from above, you can see that actually the projector "shorts out" before the tent roof ruptures. The crew probably didn't want to risk the pyrotechnic devices getting wet.

Show generally

Factual error: During Henry Blake's command, a model of a Bell UH-1 'Huey' can be seen hanging from the ceiling of the commander's office in several shots. In fact, the Huey's first flight was only in 1956.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the episode "Change of Command", Potter asks Mulcahy if he "can do Methodist". In the episode "Period of Adjustment", Potter asks Mulcahy "You wouldn't lie to a Presbyterian, would you?" Just what denomination *is* Potter?

White Gold - S3-E23

Continuity mistake: When Perkins is recaptured, Henry leaves his office with his cigar in his mouth. In the next shot, of him coming through the door again from the other side, his cigar is in his hand.

jle

Radar's Report - S2-E3

Other mistake: Radar says the weekly report is for the 17th to the 22nd inclusive. A 6 day week in the middle of a war?

Henry Blake: All I know is what they taught me at command school. There are certain rules about a war, and rule number one is that young men die. And rule number two is that doctors can't change rule number one.
