Letters - S9-E2

Factual error: In this episode, the regulars receive and respond to letters from a Fourth-Grade class in Hawkeye's home town. Charles receives one from a little girl who says she's sent him a birch leaf. Unfortunately, the leaf he removes from her glassine envelope is a maple leaf. (Note: there was no indication that this was supposed to be her mistake.)

The Long-John Flap - S1-E19

New this week Continuity mistake: When Henry is put on the table, he rolls onto his back while requesting gas. After a cut to Hawkeye, he's on his stomach.

Movie Nut

The Army-Navy Game - S1-E20

New this week Revealing mistake: When the second shell explodes outside, the shelf in the right foreground shakes a moment, then the top suddenly flips up, dumping the bottles that was on it. Obviously a stagehand did it when no bottles fell.

Movie Nut

Change of Command - S4-E2

New this week Character mistake: When Frank is berating Igor about the food on the trays, he calls him "Sergeant." Igor has always been a private.

Greg Dwyer

Henry, Please Come Home - S1-E9

New this week Continuity mistake: The message Radar is presenting to Henry goes from chest height on Henry to face height between angles.

Henry, Please Come Home - S1-E9

New this week Visible crew/equipment: After Reveille has blown, Radar comes in, and gets items thrown at him. As the door closes, there's a reflection of the studio lighting on the glass.

Movie Nut

Dear Peggy - S4-E10

New this week Character mistake: When he sees the 'P' for Protestant on Davis' chart, Col. Hollister states "A lot of your Davises are 'J's, you know" implying that Davis is a Jewish name. In fact, the ID tag code for Jewish faith was 'H' for Hebrew.

Doc

Cease-Fire - S1-E23

New this week Other mistake: While celebrating the ceasefire, a Jeep full of people including Father Mulcahy stops between the Swamp and the main building. There's a streamer hanging down either side of Mulcahy from above the top of frame. Unless there's a power line to the Swamp that never appears at any time, there's nothing for it to hang from.

Movie Nut

Dear Dad, Again - S1-E18

Other mistake: Near the end of the episode Hawkeye is finishing his letter to his father. He writes "kiss mom and sis", but later in the series we find out that his mother died when he was a kid and he doesn't have any siblings.

Sonja Marie

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the first season of M*A*S*H, Hawkeye mentions that his father lives in Vermont, in the later seasons his father lives in Crab Apple Cove, Maine and has never left there in 30 years.

Rally Round the Flagg, Boys - S7-E21

Revealing mistake: When Col. Flagg holds his pistol up to stop Mr. Pak Sr. from leaving, you can see there is no magazine in the pistol.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In an early episode Hawkeye receives a sweater knitted by his sister. Subsequently in the show he has always been an only child.

Dear Dad - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When you see the shadow of the helicopter on the ground, there is no shadow of Hawkeye who is supposedly standing in the door getting ready to be lowered to the ground.

The Colonel's Horse - S5-E11

Factual error: While on the phone, Radar spells out BJ's father-in-law's last name, "H-A-Y-D-E-N" to which Hawkeye quips, "M-O-U-S-E" parodying the old line from the Mickey Mouse club. The M.M. club didn't air until 1955.

Bob Blumenfeld

Show generally

Other mistake: Across the show, several times doctors looking at an x-ray picture say things like, "Looks like he swallowed a whole junkyard" or "His belly is full of shrapnel." In fact, shrapnel, being metal fragments, should show up as clear white spots on the x-ray pictures, but none of that is visible in any of the x-rays shown throughout the show.

Alcoholics Unanimous - S3-E9

Revealing mistake: When the tent roof caves in and the projector shorts out in a gush of water from above, you can see that actually the projector "shorts out" before the tent roof ruptures. The crew probably didn't want to risk the pyrotechnic devices getting wet.

Show generally

Factual error: During Henry Blake's command, a model of a Bell UH-1 'Huey' can be seen hanging from the ceiling of the commander's office in several shots. In fact, the Huey's first flight was only in 1956.

Private Charles Lamb - S3-E14

Audio problem: At the end of the show, when Trapper is playing his instrument, the music does not match the movements of his hand.

White Gold - S3-E23

Continuity mistake: When Perkins is recaptured, Henry leaves his office with his cigar in his mouth. In the next shot, of him coming through the door again from the other side, his cigar is in his hand.

jle

Operation Noselift - S2-E18

Revealing mistake: When Henry is trying to convince Baker how wonderful the camp is, Henry says that they "had 'The Thing' and 'The Blob' both in one week". "The Blob" was made in 1958. This season of M*A*S*H is set in 1951 and 1952 (and the war ended in 1953).
