Continuity: Throughout the whole show, George Costanza is showed as being left-handed (eg. at the beginning of the episode titled "The Shoes", Jerry and George are writing "The Butler" script, and George can clearly be seen writing with his left hand). However, the actor himself is not, and you can spot some episodes (mostly in the first seasons) but a few in the last seasons as well, with him using his right hand for writing or eating, while in most of the show he's using his left-hand for everything.

Trivia
In the Seinfeld Finale, Jerry and George have a conversation in the jail cell about the positioning of a button on George's shirt. For those viewers who don't know or don't remember, that is why George asks, 'Haven't we had this conversation before?', because this is the same conversation that started off the series in the very first episode. Updates:
Series 6
Across whole show
Continuity: The exterior shot they use when establishing Monk's cafe is completely different than what is inside in the cafe. First the outside has neon lights with just RESTAURANT. The inside of the cafe, the menus, windows and door all have Monk's cafe logo on them. Secondly the door should be in the middle of the restaurant, instead the interior shows it to be to the left of the restaurant and somewhat to the side. Lastly the windows in the exterior shot are extremely large with no writing, logo and curtains pulled to the side. Inside the cafe, the windows are much smaller, with permanent curtains coming halfway up the windows and the rest being blocked by Monk's cafe logo.
Factual error: During the entire series, the view of Jerry's door from the hallway is of a flat wall with the door in line, yet from inside the apartment, not only does the kitchen angle into the hallway, but Jerry's fridge is recessed into the wall. The wall behind it should be blocking the hallway completely.
All of series 1 (season 1)

The Truth (season 3, episode 2)
Continuity: Jerry is waiting for George to come into his apartment and he says to Elaine and Kramer, "my oldest friend is dating the governor", and then folds his arms. Continuity: When Morty is giving Jerry directions to the scuba diving site, the pen alternates between being in Morty's hand and on the table between shots.
Revealing: While Jack is leaving the apartment after giving Jerry the pen, you can see they have put a fake background outside the front door. What's more it is not even that realistic. It looks like a forest with a river in the middle. The Seinfeld's Florida apartment is situated amongst many other apartments around it.

Continuity: Shot shows a DC-10. Next shot is the inside of a plane that is not a DC-10. Only one aisle. DC-10s have two aisles.

The Outing (season 4, episode 17)
Factual error: Kramer gives Jerry a two-line phone for his birthday, which Jerry plugs in and immediately uses. But a two-line phone requires the installation of an actual additional phone line. What Jerry was using when the NYU reporter overheard him "admitting" he was gay was simply call-waiting.

The Soup (season 6, episode 7)
Factual error: In this episode, after accepting a free Armani suit from Kenny Bania, Bania insists that Jerry repay him by taking him to a nice restaurant. Jerry takes Bania to Mendy's, a Glatt kosher NYC deli. During the ordering process Bania suggests, "Oh, get the swordfish. Best swordfish in the city. The best, Jerry." Swordfish is considered an unkosher fish by Glatt kosher standards since it does not have scales, one of the essential criteria. It would therefore never be served at Mendy's.
The Mom & Pop Store (season 6, episode 8)
Continuity: Right after Jon Voight enters the taxi, Kramer sticks his arm in through the cab's rear side window, where Jon Voight was sitting. Jon Voight grabs the arm and bites Kramer on the wrist. As Kramer later was describing the incident to Jerry and George, he was pointing to a bite mark near his elbow.
Plot hole: When Kramer shows Jerry and George his "gnarled" arm, he says that they can match the bitemarks with the ones on Voight's pencil. How did he know about the pencil?
The Race (season 6, episode 10)
Other: When Mr. Bavalaqua is telling Jerry and Duncan the rules for the big race, there is a male extra right behind him who is mouthing Bavalaqua's lines as he's talking.
The Beard (season 6, episode 16)
Character mistake: When Jerry is being questioned on the lie detector test about "Melrose Place", the officer questioning him asks him two control questions that he responds to in full sentences. The questions should have been simple "yes" and "no" questions.
The Doodle (season 6, episode 20)
Continuity: In this episode, Newman's apartment number is 5F but in all the episodes both before and after, the apartment number is 5E.
The Understudy (season 6, episode 24)

The Engagement (season 7, episode 1)
Factual error: At the end of the episode in which George and Susan get engaged, they are lying in bed together watching "Mad About You" on TV. However, at some earlier point on "Mad About You" it had been established in a crossover episode that Paul Reiser was the person who lived in Jerry's apartment before him and was an old acquaintence of Kramer's, meaning that "Seinfeld" and "Mad About You" existed in the same reality. On "Seinfeld," the show "Mad About You" could not exist.
The Postponement (season 7, episode 2)
Revealing: When Jerry and Kramer are in the theater, Kramer trips and spills his cafe latte all over his shirt. But you can see the coffee stain on his shirt before he trips and spills it.
Continuity: When Elaine crushes the beer can in Jerry's apartment, she leaves it on the counter. After she walks out of the apartment, the beer can is on the cutting board.
The Hot Tub (season 7, episode 5)
Deliberate "mistake": In the scene where Elaine comes homes and doesn't find Sean Paul there, she runs to her neighbour across the apartment. The neighbour opens the door and stands outside it then the door slowly closes behind him. Suddenly, the door opens again with a swoosh without anyone being there. Because the camera switches angle right after this, it is apparent it was opened to gain this shot or to at least permit it continuity wise.
Plot hole: When Elaine is searching for Jean Paul in the streets, one of her verbal flashbacks is of Jean Paul saying, "I trust Elaine, she is my friend." However, Jean Paul made this remark to Jerry, and Elaine was not there to hear it. How could she have a flashback of it?
The Sponge (season 7, episode 9)
Revealing: When Kramer says "I read it in Wall Street Weekly," his mouth does not sync with the words. It looks like he said "Wall Street Journal."
The Rye (season 7, episode 11)
Plot hole: When George and Jerry are discussing the rye bread scheme, George says Susan is working late that night, so she won't be around when he sneaks the rye into the house. But when George reels the rye in with the fishing pole, Susan is standing there with her parents, wearing her coat. When did she get home? She couldn't have entered through the front door, because Jerry was there tossing the rye up to George. And since it's a New York City brownstone, there's no backdoor that's accessible. There's no logical explanation for her getting into the house to see George reeling in the rye.
The Seven (season 7, episode 13)
Continuity: In the scene where Elaine and Kramer are in Newman's apartment to debate who gets the bike, the first shot of Newman shows he inadvertently left his wedding ring on. The shot switches away and then back to Newman and his wedding ring disappears.
Continuity: When George and Susan are arguing over dinner about her cousin stealing the name Seven, Susan holds her glass up to her mouth in one shot. In the very next shot, the glass is on the table.
Continuity: When George is at Susan's cousins' house complaining about them stealing the name Seven, its bright Daylight out. You can tell because the sun is pouring in through the windows. The woman goes into labor and they all get into the car to go to the hospital. At this point it is nighttime. When they finally arrive at the hospital it is broad daylight again.
The Calzone (season 7, episode 20)
Continuity: This mistake is in the Calzone episode. Towards the end when George walks in and his boss is looking around for the smell of calzones, George is holding a bag in his hand. In the next shot that shows the back of the boss's head the bag is now on top of a box that George is carrying. When it goes back to a close up the bag is in his hand again.
Factual error: When Jerry gets a speeding ticket, he asks Nicki to give the officer the registration. She gets a large piece of white paper from the glove compartment. That's what car registrations look like in California, where the show was produced. In New York, where it's supposed to take place, car registrations are the size of a driver's license, and are usually kept in the driver's wallet.
The Bottle Deposit (1) (season 7, episode 21)
Character mistake: When Jerry tells Kramer and Newman that they left their groceries under the hood of his car, he comments, "The AAA guy said I was this close to sucking a muffin down the carburetor." Jerry's car is a Saab 9000, which are fuel injected.
Factual error: Kramer and Newman's soda bottle plan wouldn't work in the first place, since Michigan law prohibits the return of bottles from out of state.
The Wait Out (season 7, episode 23)
Continuity: The scene which George arrives at Beth's apartment in a messy condition to admit his remark was in jest, his shirt's hem and collar change between shots. During this scene, especially when he talks to Jerry on the phone, his collar is up and down; his hem is in and out of his trousers.
The Foundation (season 8, episode 1)
Continuity: While Jerry calls George from the coffee shop to tell him about the survey question, there is a shot of the waitresses and staff sitting at the tables. Behind them you can see the booths the gang usually sits at and there is a wall right next to the booth with pictures and pipes. Only problem is there are always booths next to the two near the front entrance. Even in this episode you can see the other booths as there are menus, condiments and napkins at the booths next to the regular booths.
The Soul Mate (season 8, episode 2)
Continuity: When George is in the boardroom, he places his briefcase on the conference table, and opens it, with the top leaning against a carafe. As George yammers on, the briefcase is closed in a couple of shots, and then open again for the rest of the scene.
Continuity: In the episode 'The Soul Mate,' there is a scene where Kramer is talking to Jerry's girlfriend in the library with the help of Newman. Kramer elbows Newman through the shelf knocking some books down, but in the next shot we see Newman rising and the books are back on the shelf.
Continuity: George has constructed a model of the boardroom when his briefcase was destroyed. Jerry thinks George should be represented by the Yellow M&M figure. When the camera shows a close up of the figure, Jerry is holding it in a different position than the far away shots.
The Bizarro Jerry (season 8, episode 3)
Revealing: When George puts down the hairdryer next to the picture of his "fiance", if you look at the bottom right of the screen, you will notice a blue flame most likely from a torch the crew used to create the fire.
Continuity: In the scene after "Man Hands" crushes Jerry's hand, Jerry is wearing a bandage around his hand. But in the next scene on the street, the bandage is gone.
The Little Kicks (season 8, episode 4)
Factual error: In the scene where Anna is standing with George beside his father's GTO, Elaine suddenly runs in and pries her away from George. Elaine and Anna get into the cab. As the cab pulls away, the side door is marked as an NYC cab with a taxi license number, etc., but the license plate in the back is a California plate.
The Package (season 8, episode 5)
Continuity: Jerry's stereo is still visible in the background after Kramer already mailed it.
The Fatigues (season 8, episode 6)
Continuity: At the start of the episode, Cynthia is drinking a glass of wine. While speaking near the end of the scene, she is holding the glass in her right hand and says, "You know, guides you in your career path." The next shot is of Jerry and instantly the glass has disappeared from her hand with her right hand resting on the table. You can also see the glass is closer to her left hand now.
The Chicken Roaster (season 8, episode 8)
Continuity: When Kramer spills the tomato juice all over Jerry's walls, he grabs a light colored oven mitt to wipe it off. In one shot he wrings out the sopping mitt over the juice pitcher. When the shot changes and he tosses the mitt back onto the counter, the mitt is still the original color with no hint of red stains.
Continuity: Due to the effect of the red glow on Kramer's eyes, he confuses the pitcher of tomato juice from Jerry's refrigerator for a pitcher of milk, pours it into the cereal, then gags and promptly tosses the contents of the bowl into the trash beside the fridge. In the close-up he tries to wipe some of it off the wall, but there's still a huge red mess left on the wall, in the trash, etc. In the next wide shot of Jerry and Kramer, the trash and wall are spotless.
Continuity: When Newman is first eating the chicken in Seinfeld's apartment, the amount of meat on the leg changes without Newman putting down the leg and getting another one out of the box.
The Abstinence (season 8, episode 9)

Continuity: In one scene George is solving a Rubik's cube in Jerry's apartment. When he leaves, he places the cube on Jerry's kitchen counter, and it is in the middle of the counter with the red color facing out. In the very next shot, it is moved much closer to the far edge of the counter and the color facing out has changed.
The Little Jerry (season 8, episode 11)
Continuity: When Celia breaks out of prison and comes to George's apartment, George opens the door and starts talking with her. After George says "And you decided to pop in" the shot shows Celia but the door has now closed behind her. It would have been impossible to close without us seeing it because Celia would have had to have moved forward to close the door.
The Comeback (season 8, episode 13)
Continuity: In the episode "The Suicide", Kramer discusses suicide with Jerry, and says that he'd give someone 72 hours to come out of a coma before all his property is up for grabs. However, in the episode "The Comeback", Kramer tells Jerry that he never knew that people could come out of a coma.
The Susie (season 8, episode 15)
Continuity: Towards the end of the episode, it transitions between the Yankee ball at night and "Susie's" wake which is during the day.
Continuity: When Mike accuses Jerry of murder at Susie's wake, watch the people behind and around Jerry. There is a woman next to Peggy and a black woman next to her. They are turning around, looking surprised and moving their hands. The next shot, we see Jerry from behind his seat, and everyone has instantly changed to sitting perfectly still, looking ahead and their hands still.
The Muffin Tops (season 8, episode 21)
Continuity: In the final scene where Newman is going to eat the bag of muffin stumps, Newman removes the bottles of milk and then takes a bite out of his muffin. He then takes a drink from the glass but he never filled the glass with milk in the first place.

Factual error: In the scene where Jerry, George, and Elaine are in the coffee shop and Kramer walks in with the dummy mailman with the bucket over his head, Kramer remarks how nobody entered the post office while he was outside protesting. Jerry remarks, "That is because it is Sunday." If that is true, how can the group be gathered at the coffee shop? There is a red sign by the entrance of the coffee shop showing the business hours, and the coffee shop is supposedly closed on Sunday.
The Slicer (season 9, episode 7)
Continuity: When Elaine is woken up by her neighbor's alarm she looks at her own bedside alarm clock and it shows 3.30 AM. In the next shot when she buries her face in her pillow and screams, that clock shows 3.29 AM.
The Dealership (season 9, episode 11)
Factual error: George asks for a nickel from Jerry for his candy bar. He then proceeds to put only 3 coins into the machine for a $0.75 candy bar. No 2 coins would require a nickel to make 75 cents.
The Reverse Peephole (season 9, episode 12)
Continuity: When Newman and the landlord look into Kramer's apartment through his peephole, the background doesn't match from when they look in and when he opens the door.
The Cartoon (season 9, episode 13)
Continuity: After George and Janet leave the apartment, Jerry gets mad at Kramer for saying Janet looked like him. He shoves Kramer and the bottom half of the freezer door swings open. The next few shots show Jerry and Kramer from the chest up, but when a wide view shot is shown again, the freezer door is closed. It does not appear Jerry shut the door.
The Strongbox (season 9, episode 14)
Continuity: When Kramer and Jerry are talking about the bird being in the hallway, notice how the intercom keeps changing. In some shots the intercom is not set straight and leaning to the right and in other shots it is completely straight. The most notable change is when Kramer is leaving the apartment. It goes from crooked as he is leaving, then straight while he is outside in the hall and then the entire unit is completely pulled right out after Kramer rushes backs in.
Continuity: When Loretta comes into the apartment she is carrying a coat and roses in one hand and the other hand is supporting her handbag by her right shoulder (left on screen). In the next shot she is holding the bottom of the flowers with both hands instead of just the left hand.
The Burning (season 9, episode 16)
Continuity: When Puddy is sitting down and says "Fells like an Arby's night," he's leaning back with his arms outstretched across the couch. When the show cuts to Elaine, Puddy suddenly has his hands in his lap.
Continuity: At the beginning of the episode, when Puddy is farewelling Elaine on the street, he is standing on the sidewalk and leaning through the driver's window. The following shot when she pulls out quickly, you can see through the windows of the car that Puddy is nowhere to be seen.
The Bookstore (season 9, episode 17)
Revealing: When Kramer at the start of the episode puts the hose on the kitchen tap, he jerks the hose as its not long enough to reach the fire. If you look at the sink when Kramer does this, it comes easily out of its position on the counter top.

Factual error: Frogger machines kept scores, but they didn't keep the initials of the person who got the score.
The Finale (1) (season 9, episode 23)
Continuity: The private jet that the limo pulls up to on the ground and the one that they show the gang on while flying are two different types of planes.
The Finale (2) (season 9, episode 24)
Factual error: At several points during the case, the prosecutor introduces witnesses by saying "The state calls." Legally, Massachusetts is a Commonwealth, not a state, and that is how it is referred to in court. (See any episode of "Ally McBeal" or "The Practice.") However, even this would be incorrect here, as the episode makes it clear that the "Good Samaritan" law is a local Latham statute, not a Massachusetts law. In this case, "The people call." would be correct.
