Quotes
Holly: Rude alert! Rude alert! An electrical fire has knocked out my voice-recognition unicycle! Many Wurlitzers are missing from my database! Abandon shop! This is not a daffodil! Repeat, this is not a daffodil!
Rimmer: Well, thankfully, Holly's unaffected.
Trivia
The episode "Tikka To Ride" was released on video as an "X-tended" version with a different ending to the one broadcast on TV. In the revised ending, Lister gets his supplies of curry and lager, and they are loaded aboard Starburg. But Rimmer tricks Lister into operating a switch that splits off the rear section of Staburg - casting Lister and his curries into space See more...

The End (season 1, episode 1)
The Inquisitor (season 5, episode 2)
Visible crew/equipment: When Rimmer is being questioned by the Inquisitor, a full boom mic and arm can be seen rising out of shot by the three candles on the right of the screen.
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: In George's memorial service, the extras are totally different in the shots from George's point of view to the shots from the back of the room. Look for the woman with brunette hair and orange overalls - she's there in the forward shots but missing in the reverses. The chairs, tables, props, costumes and character placements are all completely discontinuous.
Across whole show
Deliberate "mistake": In the first few series, it is suggested Lister and Kochanski barely know each other. In 'Balance of Power' Holly says that Lister has only ever spoken 173 words to her. However, by series 4 Kochanski is referred to as Lister's ex-girlfriend with whom he shared a relationship. In the series 4 documentary, Doug Naylor explains that Lister's attitude towards Kochanski was imature in the first series which is why they changed his back story from wanting to be with Kochanski to actually having been with her by series 4.
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When Lister and Rimmer see Cat just after Holly explains how he evolved, Rimmer runs at Cat screaming before he passes through him and we hear a crash off screen to indicate Rimmer has just run in to something. He is a hologram and is not solid, so no sound should be heard. [The original version did not have this mistake. The sound effect was added for the now defunct Remastered series.]
Back in the Red (3) (season 8, episode 3)
Revealing: The first time you see Lister, the Cat, Kochanski and Kryten in the AR machine you can see the cat opening his eyes realising that it is not in the script, smiling and then closing his eyes.
Polymorph (season 3, episode 3)
Plot hole: Right after the shrinking boxers scene, Kryten says the small boxers are missing from the bunk, but you can see them right in front of him.
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: At the start of the 'Welcome Back George McIntyre' reception scene, Lister, Chen and Selby are throwing things at Rimmer, then Rimmer looks around. In the next shot, Lister and Chen are looking round to their left, Selby is stabbing between his fingers, Rimmer is now looking straight forwards and Petersen has appeared from nowhere.
Emohawk - Polymorph II (season 6, episode 4)
Revealing: When the grenade explodes, the explosion is to the left of where the grenade landed.
Parallel Universe (season 2, episode 6)
Visible crew/equipment: A wire/string pulling along the baby Skutters behind the parent Skutter is visible in the episode
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When George McIntye finishes his speech, he is standing. When the camera cuts back, he is sitting down.
Beyond a Joke (season 7, episode 6)
Continuity: When Able takes his head off and throws it at the simulant, he throws it forwards towards where Lister is standing. The head manages instead, somehow, to hit the simulant standing next to the gelf on Able's left.
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When Rimmer leaves for his exam, the table in the room only has an ashtray on it. Moments later, when Lister locks the door, a magazine, a can and a mug have appeared on the table.
Backwards (season 3, episode 1)
Plot hole: In the episode 'Backwards' most of the things that happen on 'Backwards Earth' are correct, except, of course, in reverse. But there is an exception: in the scene in the Cafe, when the waitress comes to 'dirty' the table, she tips a box of trash on the table. If you play this scene backwards, the trash leaps from the table into the box. Even on a 'backwards earth' I can't believe that trash spontaneously leaps about...
Legion (season 6, episode 2)
Visible crew/equipment: When the Red Dwarf crew are talking about who Legion is (after Lister has poured his bucksfizz), Kryten then says, "Could our very presence here have inadvertently awoken him?" As he says this, at the left side of the screen the end of a camera lens pulls away.
Confidence and Paranoia (season 1, episode 5)
Visible crew/equipment: When Rimmer says there was nothing wrong with his casual clothes, a boom mic shadow can be seen moving at the top of the screen.
The End (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When Lister says his cigarette is a chicken, he looks at Rimmer. In the next shot he is looking at the cigarette again.
Pete (2) (season 8, episode 7)
Continuity: When Kryten is looking for Archie under the bed, he bends down quite low to search. In the next shot he is on his knees but his head is much higher than before.
Rimmerworld (season 6, episode 5)
Revealing: When the Cat says 'Form an orderly queue behind the gunsight' you can see Lister mouth the line.
Stasis Leak (season 2, episode 4)
Continuity: The second time we see the scene with Rimmer's head popping through the table, the line 'There, that wasn't too bad, was it?' is missed out.
