Red Dwarf (1988) - 81 mistakes in series 8

Revealing: The first time you see Lister, the Cat, Kochanski and Kryten in the AR machine you can see the cat opening his eyes realising that it is not in the script, smiling and then closing his eyes.

Continuity: When Kryten is looking for Archie under the bed, he bends down quite low to search. In the next shot he is on his knees but his head is much higher than before.

Continuity: When the crew are plasticine in the screensaver, the Cat slides into the igloo. From one shot he is sliding towards the igloo from an angle, but in the next shot he is heading straight for the igloo.

Continuity: When Lister looks at his Holly watch, there is no gap between the sleeve and the watch. When we see Holly, an inch gap has appeared.

Revealing: When the Cat, Lister and Kryten are walking and the Cat is complaining about rock, keep an eye on the background. They start walking just before a set of steps, then do a complete loop back to the steps for no reason.

Visible crew/equipment: Just before Lister and Rimmer get beaten up in the captain's office, as Hollister is telling them off, a boom mic shadow can be seen moving on his right shoulder.

Visible crew/equipment: When Kryten says about the pogo stick, a boom mic can be seen briefly being pulled out of shot at the top of the screen.

Visible crew/equipment: Just before Starbug crashes and Kryten says they will have sandwiches for lunch, a boom mic can briefly be seen above his head.

Continuity: During the Cat's dance, he taps his feet and tilts his head back, which Blue Midget copies. In the next shot Blue Midget is looking downwards and then proceeds to do the same dance it just did in the previous shot.

Continuity: When Kryten tells Kochanski he doesn't have a penis, he turns away from her. In the next shot you can still see Kryten on the right of the screen as he turns away from her again.

Visible crew/equipment: During the scene when Starbug crashes, the camera then does a barrel roll and you can see wooden roof beams of the set and the stage lighting.

Continuity: When Kryten's head falls off it bounces with no velocity, yet in the next shot it is quickly rolling out of the door.

Plot hole: At the end of Nanarchy, Red Dwarf had been rebuilt to be the same as it has always been, yet in this episode it has transformed into its original design.

Revealing: When Baxter puts the Cat's head in the drinks machine and says hot bovrill, Kryten can be seen mouthing the line behind him.

Continuity: When Bob helps Lister and Rimmer escape from the hole, there is no one sitting near the hole that drops out into the floor. In the next shot, Birdman's feet have appeared next to it.

Visible crew/equipment: When the vending machine says it will destroy Rimmer, a boom mic can be seen at the top of the screen.

Continuity: Just before Rimmer and Lister drink the hooch, Lister's locks are behind his back, then one of the locks moves to in front of his left shoulder during a brief shot of Rimmer.

Continuity: When Lister uses the time wand to bring back Birdman's boots, his locks are in front of his left shoulder. In the next shot they are behind his back, then they appear again in front of his left shoulder in the following shot.

Revealing: After the Cat's dance, Lister says 'we are outta here' and pulls the level, at which point the crew all fall back as if Blue Midget had rushed forwards. However, in the model shot of the ship it shows it scraping its foot on the floor before it runs forwards, meaning the crew should not have fallen back in their seats.

Continuity: When Bird-man loses his glasses, he is feeling his face. In the next shot both of his hands are on the floor.
