Continuity mistake: In the very first episode, Lister runs his arm through Rimmer and he remains unchanged. Whenever anything passes throuh him in the rest of the series, he fades. (00:23:15)

Other mistake: When Rimmer unclogs the chicken soup dispenser nozzle, he works on the back of the opening in the wall. When he orders chicken soup, the shelf drops down from above where Rimmer was working, thus above where the nozzle is located. (00:03:00)

Continuity mistake: When Kryten and Kochanski are trying to think of famous one-armed people, Lister's guitar is sitting flat against his chest in all close up shots but it is lying flat on his lap in wide shots. (00:03:05)

Suggested correction: Kryten is not mouthing the line "Hot bovril." He is just moving his mouth slightly up and down, which coincidentally happened to occur when Baxter was saying the line.

Continuity mistake: After the crew fire at the Self-loathing Beast and the room fills with dust, the Cat's left hand is up in the air. In the next shot he is holding the bazooka with both hands. (00:17:00)

Continuity mistake: When Rimmer says that he will lead the wax droids, Kryten is stood next to him shoulder to shoulder. The next shot shows Kryten yet Rimmer is not visible to his right, however in the next shot, Rimmer is stood in from of Kryten's right shoulder. (00:14:10)

Continuity mistake: When Bird-man's boots drop to the floor, the crew are looking straight forwards. In the next shot they are all looking up. (00:26:45)

Answer: Presumably he does, but it's never been used in any material related to the show. He is the only Cat left (as shown in Series 1), so even if he had once had a name, nobody would know it.

Answer: In the book, the Cat finds the concept of a name confusing, as he's convinced he's the center of the universe and the idea that someone wouldn't know who he was is baffling.
