[Rimmer convinces Holly to show him the captains files on the crew.]

Rimmer: Give me...give me Lister's. Just the remarks.

Holly: David Lister, Technician, 3rd class. Captain's remarks: "Has requested sick leave due to diarrhea on no less than 500 occasions. Left his previous job as a supermarket trolley attendant after ten years because he didn't want to get tied down to a career. Promotion prospects: zero."

Rimmer: I always liked Captain Hollister. Such a great reader of men, was Captain Hollister. A marvellous, marvellous man and a tragic loss to us all. All right, Holly, give me...give me mine.

Holly: Arnold Rimmer, Technician, 2nd Class. Captain's remarks: "There's a saying amongst the officers: If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well. If it's not worth doing, give it to Rimmer. He aches for responsibility but constantly fails the engineering exam."

Rimmer: Whoa, whoa, whoa, Holly, Holly. I want *my* report. Rimmer. Two M's, E, R.

Holly: "Astoundingly zealous. Possibly mad. Probably has more teeth than brain cells. Promotion prospects: comical."

Rimmer: No no no no no, Holly. I want *Rimmer*. That's two R's, one at the front, one at the back.

Continuity: When Lister and the Cat are talking to the original Rimmer in the cinema, the new Rimmer enters and argues with the original. The original Rimmer makes hand puppets, while the new Rimmer sits at the front. When Lister does the ippy-dippy, the Rimmers have swapped places. The new Rimmer says that he was there first, without complaint from the original.

Continuity: When Rimmer enters the cinema, Lister looks round at him and holds his hand up to his mouth. In the next shot, his hand is lowered and the straw is in his mouth.

Continuity: When Lister leaves the Rimmer's quarters after laughing at the newspaper cuttings, one shot Rimmer has his arms folder and the other has his hands on his hips. In the next shot they have swapped places.

Continuity: At the start of the episode, when Lister says about Rimmer's toe nail clippings, one of Lister's locks is in front of his left shoulder. In the next shot it is gone.

Continuity: When we see Rimmer's Death video, the atomic blast pushes him into the Captain's office. However, in "The End," Holly indicates that the two piles of dust next to each other in the centre of the drive room are Captain Hollister and Rimmer.

Continuity: When Lister tips his socks onto the floor, he throws the bin behind him, near the bunkbeds. But when he picks them up again, the bin has moved over in front and to the right of him.

Other: When Lister reads Rimmer's diary, he reads the first entry, then his aunt's birthday in July and then the entry for Gazpacho Soup Day in November. Each time he looks for the next entry he flicks though the pages, yet every time he reads, it is from the start of the diary.

Revealing: When Lister goes into Rimmer's new room, there is a slight glitch with the split screen. When Lister is laughing at Rimmer's newspaper headlines on the door, the camera changes and the first frame only has Lister and Rimmer with the scutters. In the next frame the second Rimmer appears and the scutter on the right has moved.
