Trivia: Each member of the cast of 24 is required to trim their hair every 5 days.

Trivia: Reiko Aylesworth auditioned for Nina Myers, but lost to Sarah Clarke. When Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran were casting the second season, they remembered her and cast her as Michelle Dessler.

Trivia: Jack's opening monologue changed subtly as the season moved on. It began, "Right now, terrorists are plotting to assassinate a presidential candidate, and my teenage daughter is missing." It then became, "...and my teenage daughter has been kidnapped," then "...my wife and daughter have been kidnapped," then, "...my wife and daughter are in danger," and finally, "...my wife and daughter have been targeted."

9:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. - S1-E10

Trivia: Alberta Green, who makes her first appearance in this episode, was named for actress Alberta Watson, whom series creator Joel Surnow originally wanted to play the role. Ironically, Watson played Erin Driscoll, a character that is by-the-book, much like Green is, in Season 4.

Trivia: While filming the first series of 24, the terrorist attacks of September 11th occurred. This is why the plane explosion is rarely mentioned as the series goes on.

Kara

Trivia: In the season seven premiere, Carlos Bernard is credited as Tony Almeida, even though his return was meant to be a surprise. This was because Tony's return was leaked in a press release almost a year before the episode aired.

Trivia: We get the impression from the first few episodes that Nina is trustworthy only to find out in the last 2 episodes that she was the main mole inside CTU. It's funny though that it was in front of our eyes the whole time, by accident or design: Every time that Jack says his famous starting monologue, when he comes to the part "and people I work with might be involved in both..." we see Nina looking at Jack.

Trivia: The main character of the show was originally going to be named Jack Barrett. The creators of the show decided they didn't like the name, and changed it to "Bauer" after Elaine Bauer, an executive at Imagine Entertainment.

Trivia: Both Sarah Clarke and Xander Berkeley have played turncoat government agents assisting terrorists attempting to assassinate the President. Clarke on 24, and Berkeley in the film Air Force One, when the President interferes with the terrorists' insidious plan. Ironically, the pair began dating during season one, and by season two, they were married.

Season 1 generally

Trivia: Sarah Clarke was cast as Nina Myers the morning filming for the pilot was to begin. The costume department didn't have time to fit her, so she wore her own clothes during the season.

Day 2: 11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S2-E16

Trivia: At the end of the episode, Jack takes Kate out of CTU. When Tony tries to stop them, Jack throws him to the floor and he falls badly on his ankle. Tony spends the rest of the season on crutches. The reason for this is that Carlos Bernard, who plays Tony, broke his ankle playing basketball so the writers had to alter the script to take this into account.

Season 1 generally

Question: Was Nina recruited as a spy before she joined CTU or after? Also, as she wasn't working just for the Drazens, what was her primary mission?

Answer: According to Jack in season 5, Nina was "deep cover" before the pair ever met, so it's safe to assume she was recruited before she joined CTU. As for what her primary mission was, who knows? Perhaps it was to gather sensitive intel and pass it on to her superiors. Given that she worked for an intelligence agency, it's not a stretch. Or perhaps we may find out in season seven.
