Mistakes
When Joey finds Dawson at Pacey's Pier Party, it is raining heavily. Both Dawson and Joey get soaked and their hair is very wet as they reunite and kiss. At this point, it suddenly stops raining and does not rain again the rest of the time at the pier. But later, when Jen and Abby are talking behind them, both times Dawson and Joey are shown from the rear their hair is noticeably dry, wavy and styled. Later, when Dawson and Joey are talking again before she goes home, their hair is once again very wet and combed flat against their heads. Also, neither Jen or Abby's hair appeared wet at all during the party. See more...
Trivia
After Joey finishes her email to Dawson, she clicks on her Address Book on her laptop. There is a brief shot of several names and email addresses. Again, the next morning Joey checks her laptop for email responses. To her surprise, she receives several email replies because she accidently sent the email to the Worthington Campus instead of Dawson. Again, you can see a brief shot of the names and addresses listed as responses. In both these shots, most of the names listed are actually crew members and management of "Dawson's Creek", as can be referenced in the Credits. See more...

| Mistake | When Joey and Pacey are talking in the car as Pacey drives them to the Train Station, you can see at least 3 lanes full of cars and a great deal of traffic behind them. But when Pacey suddenly turns right, off the main road and into the entrance to the Train Station; you can see that suddenly the main road he has just turned off of is almost completely empty of any traffic in either direction, except a truck that drives by at the last minute. It also appears to be a smaller road. Apparently the scenes with their dialogue in the car were shot with background video that wasn't the actual location. |
Please read - very important
Please only add pictures that are entertaining, and which make the mistake VERY obvious - click here for examples of "wrong" pictures (new examples added). Rule of thumb - if you saw the picture(s) without knowing the mistake already, would you be able to spot it immediately? If not, it probably won't get online. If you have any queries please let me know.
There are two options for submitting mistakes - Option 1 is for if you're not familiar with graphics editing software, and option 2 is if you're comfortable putting the images into the correct format yourself. Going with either option is absolutely fine - just please be sure to follow the instructions very closely.
Option 1
- Please don't add ANYTHING to the images, ie. no text, circles, arrows, etc.
- If at all possible, please try and crop out any blank space around the image.
- Images must be smaller than 500k in filesize, at least 500 pixels wide, and in jpg format.
- Screenshots must demonstrate the mistake clearly entirely by themselves, without needing to know the film or the mistake in advance. Think to yourself "without knowing anything about the film or the mistake, could I just glance at this picture/these pictures and see what the mistake is, and is it worth looking at?" If not, it's unlikely your screenshot will get online.
- The pictures must be good quality, ie. almost certainly from DVD. Compressed/jagged/blurred pictures will not get online. Compare it to existing screenshots to make sure the quality is OK.
- If you're submitting two images for the same mistake (ie. one "before" image and one "after" image), you must submit them as two separate images - please DON'T combine two (or more) frames into one image.
- Please keep a copy of all files you send in - if any get lost, or there's some problem, it's handy knowing I can get another copy easily.
Option 2
Please ONLY go with this option if you're going to follow the instructions 100%. Your images are just as likely to get online using option 1, this is just a bit easier at my end. If it doesn't look the same as the other screenshots already online, it'll just be discarded.
Please read the instructions on positioning/size/structure of text carefully
If you want to just position the pictures at the top and bottom but leave out the text or rings, feel free - that in itself will help! If you want to do that, all the instructions below are still relevant in terms of positioning (such as the 65 pixel vertical gap between pictures), but just leave out the text and/or blue ring.
- Images must be EXACTLY 500px wide, and smaller than 130k. That file size should be possible without excess compression - all the existing pictures are smaller than that. Only submit one image.
- Images must be in the right proportions - ie. people shouldn't look squashed or flattened. If they look out of proportion, resizing your image using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 will normally fix it. If not, other popular ratios are 1.33:1, and 2.35:1. If you can't make them look right, please follow option 1 above and just send them in separately - even if all the text and everything else is right but the proportions are wrong, your image will just be deleted if it's squashed.
- The arrangement must be the same as the existing screenshots, ie. one at the top, one at the bottom (if needed - no more than 2 images), smooth blue rings around the relevant area if needed (it normally is), and text centred in between - the title on one line, the description on the line below. Please don't use two lines for the description. A vertical gap between the pictures of about 65 pixels should accommodate the text quite nicely.
- Text is an important bit. Please use this font. Font sizes seem to differ between programs, so please experiment to find what matches existing screenshots - the title should be slightly larger than the description, and neither line should have huge lettering - anything noticeably larger than the text on existing screenshots won't get online. Just use the title (ie. don't add the episode or season info if it's a TV mistake). Just give a brief description on ONE LINE, and DON'T capitalise every word (ie. write "Plate moves between shots", not "Plate Moves Between Shots"). Also please check your spelling! Please anti-alias fonts where possible (ie. smooth them out).
- If the mistake needs circling (or possibly ellipsing), use a 3px wide ring (not free-drawn), colour #8080FF, anti-aliased. The precise colour may not be possible depending on your graphics software - if that's the case just match existing screenshots as best you can (any picture using a radically different colour will be discarded). However, the anti-aliased part is important (ie. non-jagged rings). If your software can't do smooth rings, please DON'T add any ring at all - I'll work out where it's meant to be.
- Screenshots must demonstrate the mistake clearly entirely by themselves, without needing to know the film or the mistake in advance. Think to yourself "without knowing anything about the film or the mistake, could I just look at this picture/these pictures and see what the mistake is?". If not, it's unlikely your screenshot will get online.
- The pictures must be good quality, ie. almost certainly from DVD. Highly compressed/jagged/blurred pictures will not get online. Make sure you're working from a full colour image - any "speckling" of colours due to reduction will most likely make the picture unusable.
- Please keep a copy of all files you send in - if any get lost, or there's some problem, it's handy knowing I can get another copy easily.
Browse for the image file using the button next to the empty "file" box.
Only upload if the picture's really good - click here for examples of what shouldn't be submitted.
