Mistakes in Mighty Joe Young

Mistake #1

In the climax scene, Joe is climbing up the Ferris Wheel. He is huge, and weighs a ton, but his strong hands do not break a single lightbulb on the framework of the wheel.

Mistake #2

In the movie, notice how the red sport utility vehicle driven by Bill Paxton goes from shiny and clean to very dirty and dusty, from one shot to the next, all within the same scene.

Mistake #3

The film is set in Botswana, yet gorillas do not live anywhere near there. They live in tropical forests or mountain forests in countries like Rwanda, Zaire and Uganda. Most of Botswana is either the Kalahari or tableland - not forest.

Mistake #4

When the poacher is calling the guy who sells the animal parts, he says "the gorilla is as big as 3 men, at least 2,000 pounds!"� Three men, 2,000 pounds, that's almost 700 pounds each.... [I haven't seen this myself - might he mean that he's the height of three men, or something like that?]
