When Honora brings Pauline a tray of breakfast into her room, Honora gives her the tray then talks to her for a while. You can clearly see the face of a crewmember reflected in a window, and then after, you see the reflection of two hands holding the long pole of the boom mic!

In art class you see Mrs. Collins pick up some papers and a wooden tray, then turn and talk to Juliet. The wooden tray Mrs. Collins picks up has a circular carve in one end of it. In one shot she is holding the tray so the carving is facing her, then when the shot changes she is suddenly holding the tray the other way, so the carving is facing away from her.

When Pauline makes her first entry into her 1953 diary, the date at the top of the page is January 1, Thursday. Later in the film when she begins her diary for 1954, the date on the page is January 1, Thursday. The same date in two consecutive years cannot be the same day of the week, they are a day apart (2 in a leap year). In actual fact, 1 January 1954 was a Friday.

When Juliet drops the gem, Pauline then points it out and we see a shot of it. Then we see a second shot of it, as Honora picks it up. Between the two shots the position of leaves and twigs around the gem changes.

In the scene, set in 1952, where Pauline and Juliet sit on a bench during P.E., they're reading 'Biggles of 266' (by Captain Johns). The book however, was published in 1956.
