Question: Is any of the sub-plot with Timo Cruz and his friend (relative?) getting shot true?

Answer: I take it that you are asking if in real life was Timo Cruz's cousin shot. The answer would be no because Timo Cruz is not a real person. While the film is (loosely) based on a true story, none of the players in the film (with the exception of Damien, Coach Carter's son) were real life students of Carter. The characters in the film were all composites of real life players. That being said, I don't know if there was a player on the team that had a cousin shot, certainly nothing prominent about it is reported. It's highly unlikely though as many of Carter's real life players dispute the negative portrayal of the personalities of the players and say the characters were falsely portrayed (along with facts like game scores and records). Darryl Robinson is quoted as saying "Hollywood missed it by a country mile. The kids buying drugs and shooting people, that never happened. The kids were a good group to begin with, there were no troublemakers, there was none of that."

Question: What song is playing when Jack walks into the Grand Staircase area around 54 and a half minutes into the movie?

Chosen answer: "The Blue Danube Waltz" by Johann Strauss II.

Question: What is the logical reason behind King Candy's decision to delete Vanellope's code? What does he gain from it? From what I understand, he didn't think she'd become a glitch, but what exactly did he have against her and why delete her instead of any other racer?

Answer: As shown later on, Candy was revealed to be Turbo. A racer whose racing game was ruined by another racing game. His jealousy drove him to ruining both his game and the other game. Turbo then wanted to live in a racing game, so chose Sugar Rush. Vanellope was revealed in the end to be the leader of Sugar Rush and King Candy tried to delete her code and re-write his code so he could be leader and take part in all the races. That's why he didn't delete any other racer's code - because getting Vanellope's code deleted would have made him the leader. Candy had nothing against Vanellope, he just wanted to be leader by any means possible.

A Benihana Christmas - S3-E10

Question: Is there a specific reason that the two girls from the restaurant are played by different actors when they get to the office? I couldn't imagine it has anything to do with the idea of Asian people looking similar out-of-universe, so I know there must be something else.

Knever

Chosen answer: Why couldn't that be the reason? As you can see, throughout the rest of the episode, one of the running jokes is that Michael can't figure out which girl is which anyway. That's not the writers saying that all Asians look alike. They're saying that they simply look alike to Michael. Because for all his profession that he is open-minded and forward-thinking, it's clear throughout the run of the show that he's actually not quite as forward-thinking as he thinks he is.

Garlonuss

Additionally, the fact is that, due to scheduling issues, they were unable to get the same actresses as they used for the earlier scene. If I remember correctly, they mention this in the commentary for that episode. It just also happened to become another level of the joke that they were already planning on making later on.

Question: When Engywook explains the Magic Mirror Gate to Falkor, he says that the mirror shows a person their true nature. Brave men are cowards. Kind men are cruel. When Atreyu looks into the Magic Mirror Gate, why does he see Bastion?

Answer: Atreau is the main character of the book (like Bastion is to us watching the movie) this makes them the same, the main protagonist or the "story" It's a 4th wall break inside a 4th wall break. The Empress even tells him "he is sharing all your adventures, others are sharing his."

Answer: Atreyu, as the main character in this story, is the reader's avatar in Fantasia. Atreyu sees Bastion in the mirror because, so long as Bastion is reading the book, he and Atreyu are one and the same.

Phixius

Answer: Bastian is Atreyu if he were not afraid, while Atreyu is Bastian, a scared boy, inside. Bastian has connection with Native Americans as we see in the beginning of the story with the book cover.

Question: Why were different actors used for the voices of Judy and Elroy instead of the original actors?

Answer: Daws Butler, the original voice actor for Elroy, died in 1988. Janet Waldo did record a voice track for the feature but was replaced by Tiffany to attract a new audience off her popularity.

MasterOfAll

Question: Why did the Creeper go after only certain students instead of all of them?

Answer: Because the Creeper only went after those with body parts it liked.

Question: What is the song that plays when Sgt. Gerry Boyle is approaching his mother near the start of the film?

Question: Why does Bond not use his left arm playing poker at The Ocean Club (when he wins the Aston Martin)? When Bond goes all in on a poker hand, he sweeps all of his many chips into the centre of the table in almost an awkward manner, as if his left hand is holding something under the table.

Inkerbelle

Chosen answer: Because he is right handed. Therefore he would naturally use his right hand to sweep chips across the table. He just has his posture so his left hand is in his lap - the pose seems quite natural. There wouldn't be anything I can think of he would be holding under the table.

Question: I get the point about Gretkov finding out from Abbott that Bourne is still alive, before Abbott kills himself, but how did Gretkov/Kirill know that Bourne went to Russia straight after?

Answer: Landy told an associate to let the Russian government know Bourne was on his way to them. The police show up to canvas the train station just after Bourne has left in a cab. Kirill is a secret service officer and would know this as well.

Question: As Mr. Candie and the others first arrive at Candyland, Stephen is writing a check and signs it as Calvin Candie then rolls something over it, what was that?

Answer: It was to dry the ink on the check.

Question: Why does the demon kill the salvage crew before the boat is even fixed, and why couldn't he fix the boat himself if he already has the ability to move objects?

Answer: Not fixing the boat drew the salvage crew to the boat, where the demon could fill his soul-quota far away from any aid his victims may have sought.

Swords into Ploughshares - S2-E7

Question: When the girls and Rosemary's mother go to the mortuary to see who was impersonating Rosemary, Rosemary's mother says just before they see the body, "It's just a waste of time me going home, really." What does she mean?

kh1616

Chosen answer: Maybe she thinks she's so old that she'll be back in the mortuary soon, so why go home?

Question: When Selina/Catwoman has Schreck cornered, she says that him, the Penguin and Batman killed her leaving her with only six lives left. I understand that Schreck "killed" her by pushing her out a window and that the Penguin "killed" her when she fell through a greenhouse, but how could Batman have killed her? She landed safely in a truck filled with kitty litter after she got knocked off the roof, so that can't count.

Answer: In each of Selina's 3 falls, there was something that broke her fall enough to save her. In the film, she never died from any of the falls. Her line about having 6 lives left isn't literal. So while the kitty litter did save her, she still attributes the fall to a loss of life at the hands of Batman, because were is not for being lucky and landing in the truck, she might have actually died. Just like she was lucky enough to survive the fall at the hands of Schreck and Penguin but still blames them for a loss of life.

Bishop73

Answer: Having nine lives is all about luck. They refer that to cats who appear to have nine lines because they are able to survive high falls. But for a human it refers to having a lot of luck. She was lucky to land on the kitty litter whilst she should have died from the fall, therefore she lost a life.

lionhead

Answer: Apparently it did. Kitty litter isn't exactly soft.

Phixius

Selina took note that her life was saved by kitty litter so that shouldn't count.

Chosen answer: It is called a Drinking Bird.

MasterOfAll

Answer: Yep it's called a Drinking Bird. You can buy them at wish.com.

stiiggy

Chosen answer: The CIA placed Klaus' brain inside a goldfish. The reason the CIA did this was because Klaus was once an Olympic ski-jumper and was supporting East Germany in the 1986 Winter Olympics. The CIA knew Klaus was going to win the gold medal for ski-jump and they did not want this to happen, so the only alternative they could think of was to place Klaus' brain inside the body of a goldfish before he could compete.

Casual Person

Question: For the comic rather than the movie, but hopefully someone will know! At the end, who's the young man Evey brings to the Shadow Gallery? Is it just a random person?

Adriana M. Morado

Chosen answer: The person that Evey brings to The Shadow Gallery is Inspector Finch's partner Dominic.

Chosen answer: The darker one is darkness, the lighter one is ghost.

Question: Everyone keeps saying Jason has the power of regeneration. That's why he has human fingers, hair, beard, etc. However that does not explain why his face does not get better. I know his face was deformed when he was a child which explains his deformity. However every time his mask is taken off, it still looks like the face of a dead guy. His face never becomes any more human like the rest of his body. Can anybody explain how his supposed "regeneration" fits into this?

Answer: Jason wasn't deformed as a child. Jason was deformed at birth. His regeneration can't fix anything better then it already was, just to where it was to begin with, therefore since his face was always deformed it can't be fixed better than its deformed state. If half his head is blown up it will regenerate, but only as far as the deformed state.
