Chick Cancer - S5-E7
Question: In this episode where Peter starts shooting the movie he says: Okay, now give him some peanut butter so we can make it look like he's talkin'. How is peanut butter going to help?
Answer: Because the peanut butter would get stuck to the roof of his mouth. Then as he's trying to lick the peanut butter off, he'd be constantly opening and closing his mouth.
Answer: There's an old show called Mr Ed about a talking horse. They used peanut butter in the horse's mouth.
Answer: If you've ever seen a dog eat peanut butter, you'd see how it looks like they are talking since it's so sticky.
Question: How come the terrorists' knives were not noticed? Airports have metal detectors designed to detect knives.
Answer: At the time of the 9/11 incident, certain type utility or pocket knives like the ones the terrorists brought on board were not illegal. Airport screeners had more leeway then about what type of knives, tools, or other gadgets they allowed passengers to carry on board. Since then, the restrictions are far more stringent.
I can attest to this as my father traveled on aircraft with his pocket knife multiple times before 9/11. As long as it was under a few inches; it was more viewed as a tool than a threat to the aircraft.
Question: Who was supplying the Hutu army?
Answer: French.
Question: Why did Katniss strike the force field?
Answer: In the book, Haymitch told Katniss how he used the arena's force field to electrocute and kill his opponent. He was at the arena's edge when the other tribute threw a weapon at him. As it hit the force field, Haymitch ducked, avoiding the weapon. The electrical power bounced back, striking and killing his opponent, making Haymitch the victor. In the movie, Peeta was injured when he struck the force field. Katniss knew that shooting the arrow with a wire attached to the electrical tree into the dome would significantly damage it.
Question: Exactly how is Peeta pretending that he and Katniss are having a baby supposed to get them to cancel the games?
Answer: Peeta knows that he and Katniss are Capitol favorites and that their fans have been enthralled by their (fake) romance. By announcing their bogus elopement and a faux pregnancy, he is attempting to win over peoples' sympathy in hope they will demand that the games be halted in order to protect the "unborn child." People generally have more empathy when infants and small children are involved, though his attempt was unsuccessful.
Question: During Katniss' individual assessment, was Peeta the one who painted that picture of Rue? I read that it was but that doesn't explain why Katniss got angry when Plutarch tells her she has 10 minutes to present her chosen skills. Or why she made that dummy about Seneca Crane?
Answer: It was done by Peeta, who was artistically inclined. Peeta knew that seeing it would have an emotional effect on Katniss, making her angry over Rue's death, thus helping her not to be intimidated by the Capitol judges. It was also Peeta's defiant act against the Capitol's cruelty in taking innocent lives. Katniss made the dummy of Seneca Crane as her own defiant statement. Seneca, by stopping Katniss and Peeta from eating the poisoned berries and declaring them both victors in the previous games, saved their lives, but he was later executed for circumventing Snow's orders. Katniss is acknowledging that Seneca saved her and Peeta, losing his life in the process.
Krusty Towers/Mrs. Puff, You're Fired - S4-E9
Question: Could what happened to the Krusty Towers at the end happen to a hotel/apartment in real life?
Answer: It probably won't happen to a real hotel if it is built correctly.
Question: Why is Melissa not in either scene when everyone else is on the ferry? She is with them in the cars but not on the ferry.
Bango Was His Name, Oh! - S4-E29
Question: The scene where Brian was paying the bills then Brian says: It's at this, uh...It's at this girl's house. What does he mean by that?
Answer: He was saying he's paying the cable bill but Stewie said Peter pays the cable bill. Brian's reply is that the cable he's paying for is for a girl. It seems he's kind of embarrassed to say it and so it seems the bills he's paying aren't his but a girl he's dating (although somewhat implied that she's using him).
Question: Am I missing a joke here? At Mort's pharmacy, Peter says that he has $30,000 in credit card debt. And "five years salary, tax-free" would not put a dent in his problem. How is this possible? He is often the main or only income-earner in the household. I would expect just one year of his salary to be about $30,000, if not more.
Question: How did the police locate Victor's apartment?
Answer: It's no mystery...it's standard police procedure, and every step is shown in the film. Victor is known to the authorities as a drug dealer, and they match his fingerprints to those found at a murder scene. So they look up his address in their system, and go there.
Question: According to the credits, the smallest of the three Satan Knights that come over to get JJ is nicknamed "Sweet Pea." However this name is never mentioned by anyone in this episode. The other two are mentioned (Mad Dog and Neck Bone). Why would the credits use a name not used?
Answer: Could have very well been that he did have a speaking part, but ended up on the cutting room floor, and they just didn't fix the credits.
Answer: He did have a speaking part many times throughout the episode, but gang name simply not used (just his real first name by Florida). James even referred to him in the start of the next episode by saying "Neck Bone and that other character."
Question: Neck Bone and Sweet Pea are referred to by Florida as their real names, Tyrone and Sylvester. Do we know which name goes to which guy? (I've always wondered this).
Answer: Neck Bone is Sylvester and Sweet Pea is Tyrone.
For some reason, I always thought it was the other way around but really no way of knowing. I'm assuming your answer is based on how Florida looks their directions near the end of the episode while saying their names.
They are listed as such on IMDb.com. So it is possible to check. Doug Grant played Sweet Pea and Michael D. Roberts played Neck Bone.
Question: What did Katniss' mum do to make Katniss hate her?
Answer: If you're talking about in the beginning and the relationship they had, when Katniss' father died (her mom's husband), her mom became severely depressed and shut down. 11 year old Katniss had to take it upon herself to basically raise her sister and herself at a time she really needed a mother, especially emotionally. Before she goes to the Hunger Games she tells her mother she has to be there for Prim.
Question: At the end of the movie, Martin stabs Tavington in the stomach, and then in the throat. How does he know Tavington is really dead this time? Earlier in the film, Tavington pretended to be dead twice after Martin's sons shot him.
Answer: Guns were less powerful during Revolutionary times and the wounds were more survivable. Deep and ripping knife stabs to areas like the abdomen and the neck area are more likely to be fatal. Tavington may not die instantly, but he would probably bleed out and/or bleed internally fairly quickly.
Would being stabbed in the stomach, and in the throat have been enough to kill a person as tough as Tavington?
Absolutely. A deep stab to the stomach/intestinal area would be very deadly even today. Being stabbed directly in the throat would kill someone very fast due to a lack of air and inhaling blood into the lungs.
Question: What did Mr. Burgundy's license plate say?
Answer: You are referring to Mr. Montgomery. And the license plate on Montgomery's car says "ALI BUY" on it. As in buying an alibi.
Question: How do you know that Clarice meets Lecter on 23rd June?
Answer: Clarice, as a professional law enforcement officer tracking a serial killer, will make the date so she can get whatever information from Lecter she can get. She also knows from Dr. Lecter's criminal profile that he is a stickler at setting/honoring appointments, to the point he would kill and eat his tardy patients. Not that he would kill and eat her, but she also has established respect and rapport with him, so under those conditions she will make the date.
Question: I realised a couple problems with Carson's plan. I understand that he murdered her husband by pushing him off the roof so he could hide the explosives in the casket, and that once Kyle and Julia boarded the plane and fell asleep, he could kidnap Julia, and Kyle would have a reason to open the casket. The first thing I don't understand is how did he get Kyle's husband to come onto the roof? What if a different person came onto the roof instead? Or what if multiple people came onto the roof? The second thing I don't understand is how did he know Kyle would decide to leave Germany and bury her husband's body in New York? What if she decided to store her husband's body somewhere and deal with it later? Or what if she decided to bury it in Germany instead?
Answer: Carson was a member of a conspiracy, not the sole person who planned and executed the entire plot. His cohorts, which included the funeral director, carried out the first phases by murdering Kyle's husband, then the mortician assisted Kyle in making the arrangement to transport the casket back to the USA. It is not important to the plot to show exactly how and by whom Kyle's husband was thrown off the roof. We only need to know that he was murdered as part of the plan. Kyle's specific travel arrangements would be relayed to Carson who could then get himself assigned as the air marshal on her flight so he could carry out the final stage of the plan.
I don't know that Kyle would have taken time to arrange for her husband to be transported back to USA especially since she would have been extremely busy helping design/build aircrafts. She's an avionics engineer after all.
Most people would take time off work to bury their loved ones or transport them for burial.
Question: Could someone please explain to me what I consider two of the biggest plot holes in this film. Firstly, how was Snake going to get his glider back in the air? If it had jets or thrusters on it, that would make sense, but when it first took off, it was being towed by a plane which means it is just a standard glider (Plissken does admit to Hauk that it will be an issue, but that explains little). Also given that it is a one-seat glider, how was he going to bring back the president on it? In fact, how were Brain, Maggie and the President (in their attempted double-cross) all going to squeeze onboard?
Answer: When Snake is told how he getting in the other guys said he can take off from a free fall.
Chosen answer: You are correct in citing these problems as plot holes. Writer-director John Carpenter is notorious for glaring plot holes in his films over the decades, inasmuch as Carpenter crafts his films for shock effect, rather than continuity. Other examples of Carpenter's plot holes can be found in the original "Halloween" (for instance, how did the killer Michael Myers, who had been confined in a mental institution since he was a child, learn to drive an automobile like a stunt driver his first time behind the wheel?), and in "The Thing" (why is the Thing discovered frozen in ice only about 4 feet below the modern surface while its spaceship is buried ten yards deep in 100,000-year-old ice?), as well as in "Prince of Darkness," "Vampires" and other Carpenter films. One explanation is that Carpenter tends to edit-out slower, extraneous scenes that more fully explain the plot, in order to maintain a fast-paced storyline.
I would assume he would push free fall and build up enough speed to fly, and then pull up, the WTC was the largest building in NY at the time anyway.

Answer: He's trying to distract Magda from coming out of the kitchen and seeing her dog is comatose, so he asks for something else so she'll stay in the kitchen and try to find something similar.
