You can submit them in the same way as you would a mistake - just click "submit something" on the left when you're on the relevant film's page (if you want to submit for a film I don't have listed, click it when NOT viewing a specific film), and write your question in the box, being sure to change the type to "Question". I'll post it ASAP and hopefully someone will answer soon! Members get e-mailed when any of their questions are answered.

| Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World | I was trying to ascertain the message spelled out in signal flags when Surprise is drifting in the doldrums. I also observed the "Foxtrot" flag at the stern when Surprise was cloaked as the "nautical phasmid" Syren - a phony whaling ship, which was mentioned in a previous question. In the doldrums message, there are eight flags across. Reading left to right, the third flag resembles the current international code for Papa, while the fifth resembles Mike. Standing alone, the M means "My vessel is stopped; making no way," which would indeed make sense. I could find no record of standardized flags prior to circa late 1800s. Did the historical consultants simply "wing it" with a nonsensical message because flags were not standardized or no record of such exists during the Napoleonic War? | Answer |
