Factual error: In the final game of the movie, when LT gets hurt making the big stop, the referee's measure for the first down before anybody attends to LT.  LT is nowhere to be seen when the measurement is made yet he was supposedly knocked out at the point of contact - where the ball should be. No way would they measure until the injured player is taken off the field and the pile up cleared.

Continuity: Of the people in the stands, almost every other one is a piece of cardboard with a picture on it and a balloon in their hand.

Continuity: In the final Game (at Texas Stadium in Irving) there are several low angle shots that show the hole in the stadium roof.  Throughout the course of the game, the shots show a night sky, then a day sky and back to a night sky, all within the same game.

Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, the score on the scoreboard and the score that is shown on the screen are different. This happens throughout the film.

Continuity: Towards the end of the movie when the long touchdown is made and then flag is thrown you see Jamie Fox running up to the referee with his helmet off, when they show the scene from a different angle his helmet is on.

Continuity: In the final game in Dallas the middle of the field is painted red. Foxx runs for a long gain at which point he does a spin move where you can see he is 30 yards past the red part. When he is hit he lands on it.

Continuity: In the late fourth quarter of the last game at the end of the movie, the score is 35-31. Through Oliver Stone's quick shot to shot movie style, Willie Beamin is shown throwing up in a trashcan and the score in the upper-left corner of the screen reads 17-14.

Continuity: In the final game against Texas, the Sharks open the game with the kickoff. The other team's returner 29 (eye shield and long-sleeve underwear) catches the ball, but 20 (no eye shield and short-sleeve underwear) jumps a pile of players. Then 29 makes the Sharks kicker miss a tackle, and you see 20 run the ball again. Finally it's 29 who scores on the return.

Factual error: During the final game against the Knights, whenever the score is shown on "TV", the Knights' score (home team) is shown on top and the Sharks' score (visiting team) is shown on the bottom. In sports, the visiting team's score is always on top and the home team's score is always on the bottom.

Continuity: At the "D.A.R.E." party, when Lela Rechon is seen with Jamie Foxx the first time her hair is down and her lipstick is a light colour.  In the same scene, when she confronts "Willie", her hair is up and her lipstick is a dark colour.

Visible crew/equipment: In the opening scene, Dennis Quaid is shown yelling out the count to his team-mates from the QB position.  His shiny helmet clearly shows the camera crew filming him as he faces forward.

Factual error: In night game scenes (as with many other football movies) the stands are always very dimly lit (so they don't have to pay thousands of extras to fill the stands) when in real life everything is well lit.

Factual error: At multiple times in the "game" scenes, you can see the play clock against the back wall of the endzone reading a one digit number, say 7, and when the shot goes back to Wille, the opposite one will read that the clock is just starting, at about 23. The play clock should not increase or decrease in the middle of the huddle and snap count.

Continuity: On the last drive of the game and the penalty is called on No.69, the camera goes from a tight shot to an overhead shot. On the tight shots No.69 does not have his helmet on, on the distant shots, his helmet is back on. This happens numerous times.

Continuity: After LT is injured and is being wheeled off the field, his arm is under the strap of the stretcher in one shot and then free in the next.

Continuity: There is a shot of the shark's sidelines where the film was edited in the wrong way round. All of the jersey numbers are inverted.

Continuity: During the closing game sequence there are several shots of Texas Stadium in Dallas. They are not playing the Dallas Cowboys football team but a fictional Dallas pro team. Luther 'Shark' Lavay (Lawrence Taylor) goes down with an injury and Head Coach Tony D'Amato (Al Pacino) looks at the sky through opening in the roof of the dome. Clearly visible are several of the Dallas Cowboys NFL championship banners. They can be seen at least once more during the game. [This does not matter - when the Clippers play, you can see the Lakers' banners if you look up - they don't take them down after the game.]

Factual error: In the third game the sharks play a team from California, but when they do a shot of the stadium, they are in Dolphins Stadium, which is in Miami.

Continuity: After they have won the final game, all the other players are running out on to the field, they show a shot of Biemans' back as he is about to be lifted into the air, the number 40 is clearly seen on the back of his jersey with number 13 on the sleeve. [Wrong - the number on the back is 13]

Continuity: Before the last play of the game (in the huddle) Jaimie Foxx's right shoulder pad keeps going from in his shirt to out of his shirt.
