Trivia
Planet Terror actually makes reference to Death Proof. When Tammy's car breaks down for the second time, right before she turns off the radio, a man is heard saying, "Dedicated to our own Jungle Julia, in loving memory." Jungle Julia is a main character in Death Proof that ends up dying, ironically by getting her right leg ripped off. See more...

Deliberate "mistake": In 'Death Proof', a white 1970 Dodge Challenger is featured prominently in both the dialogue and as the vehicle driven by the three heroines. This is a homage to the 1971 film, 'Vanishing Point'. But a major plot point of the story hinges on a feature the car never had. Zoe Bell's character will lay on the hood of the car, held there by belts attached to the frames of the door windows, but no 1970-74 Dodge Challenger ever had such frames. The car is a two-door hardtop coupe, and it's windows are frame-less (and there is no reason anyone would want to custom add them). This error is magnified by the fact that they used chrome frames where black ones would have been far less 'hacked' looking. The entire error could have been avoided by simply installing a full roll cage in the car, using the bars at the A-pillars to attach the belts to.
Continuity: When the chase continues onto the highway, the black Charger is shown catching and passing a gray Chevy Suburban with oversize tires. The SUV is at the front of the pack of traffic. Without slowing, and after zig-zagging through additional traffic that is miraculously ahead of the SUV, the chase arrives at the rear of the same Suburban again, and the white Challenger hits it, sending the SUV out of control.
Continuity: Mike's car is to the left of the white car as he turns right to send the white car out of control. As the cars bump, the road ahead is straight, with wire fencing along both sides, and not a side road or driveway entrance is in sight. Yet the angle changes and the white car slides safely into a wide, setback, dirt driveway with an obvious metal gate and orange safety poles.
Continuity: During the final car chase of Death Proof, just before the girls are sent on the side road, you can see skid marks on the highway just before the curve. In the next scene, when they are closer, no skid marks are visible, and they have not passed over the skid marks. The next scene after that shows Kurt Russel skidding the Charger.
Continuity: At one point in the big chase, Mike's car causes the other to spin out and reverse direction. As the white car is sliding around toward the left, Mike's car swerves to the right to make the same turn behind them. Yet the inside view shows the white car sliding to a stop and Mikes car is ahead of them.
Continuity: At the end of the movie "Death Proof", you will see Stuntman Mike's car roll over by the white Dodge Challenger, driven by the 3 girls. In the scene where both cars are showing their front/back, you can see that the black one has its wheels (at least on the left side). But in the next close-up scene, where Mike screams for help in the car and the 3 girls come to pull him out from the wreckage, the rear left wheel is missing, you can only see its brake plate/rear axle. Where did the wheel go?
