Factual error: In the courtroom scene, James Franco is standing in front of the board, and you can see Tyrese sitting to the side. Tyrese plays a Marine in the movie but he is wearing a Seaman's White Dress Uniform in the courtroom. Marines don't have white uniforms. Those who have the DVD can see him on the cover as well wearing a Cheif's cover.

Factual error: When asked how many seas the water from the Triton light is from, Huard says eight and is corrected with an answer of seven. The real number is 22.

Continuity: At the beginning of the film, while James Franco is still down on the mat, we see (but do not hear) the boxing judge's mouth say "five". When the sound comes in, the judge continues the count at four, five, etc.

Continuity: Throughout the film, Donnie Wahlberg's character is continuously called the wrong rank. He introduces himself to Huard as Lieutenant Commander Burton in the beginning, calls himself "a 36-year-old, out-of-shape Lieutenant" when he boxes Huard, and is called Lieutenant Burton by the boxing coach during the fight against Cole.

Factual error: During the brigade final bout, the boxing coach, McNally, queries Huarte's mentor, Lieutenant Commander Burton, and calls him, "Lieutentant". No instructor at the Naval Academy would make such a rank mistake.
