Monster-in-Law (2005) - 21 mistakes
Directed by Robert Luketic, starring Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Vartan, Wanda Sykes
Continuity: Whilst Viola is preparing the nut-gravy in order to make Charlie get an allergic reaction, and in the following shots as Viola and Ruby fight, the pestle on the worktop repeatedly changes position and between shots it jumps in and out of the mortar, without no-one touching it. (Time) Submitted by Hamster
Continuity: During the scene where Viola and Charlie are talking about the wedding plans at lunch, Viola has her glasses off, in her hand. When Charlie says “being that I’m more spiritual that religious,” the glasses jump back onto Viola’s face between shots. She then removes them, and leaves them off, however after she pulls out one of Charlie’s hairs, they reappear on her nose again. (Time) Submitted by Hamster
Continuity: There are significant differences between the tape that Viola’s therapist plays back, of the scene where Viola attacked the pop singer, and that of which actually happened on set. When Viola leapt out of her chair on set, she held her glasses in her hand, but on the tape her hand is empty, for example. (Time) Submitted by Hamster
Continuity: When Kevin approaches Charlie on the beach he is carrying two cups of coffee. He takes a drink and then when he chokes, after Charlie makes a comment about thinking he is gay, the second cup of coffee is gone from his hand and is then back again in following shots as they continue to walk along the beach. Continuity: Charlie goes to pick up 2 dobermans to walk, then she is seen walking along the beach with 5 or 6 dogs. The dobermans are not with her. The next scene, she is sitting on the same beach, and the dobermans are with her. Submitted by Karoo
Other: During the scene where Charlie is watching the horror movie on TV and Viola sneaks up behind her wearing the costume with the long finger nails and scares her. They show a shot from Viola's point of view and you see Charlie sitting on the couch from the back, but the TV is not on. Submitted by pross79
Continuity: When Viola, Kevin and Charlie are having lunch, the woman get emotional and Charlie asks Kevin to leave the table so she and Viola can have a moment. Viola reaches for a green cloth napkin to dab at her fake tears. Once Kevin leaves the table, Viola whips around to speak to Charlie and she has a paper napkin. Submitted by Bonita Kilpatrick
