Mistake Continuity: During Gary's speech at the end, in one scene his hair is messy, but as the camera angle changes it is straightened again.

Mistake Revealing: Although the movie is filmed with puppets on strings, their movements and their surroundings are made to look as realistic as possible. This nitpick shows a moment when that doesn't happen. As the terrorists begin shooting up Paris, one terrorist runs down the street (in front of the bakery) as citizens run in every direction. One puppet (a female wearing a dress with black and white stripes)runs off camera to the right. After she runs out of the shot, the shadow of the puppet appears on the building corner (left side of the screen), being lifted up and out of the scene.

Mistake Continuity: When Joe accidentally hits the Eiffel Tower, it topples over to the right. Yet later when the team (minus Sarah) are standing in front of the Tower, it is now shown as having toppled to the left.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the Paris opening, lighting reflections are visible in the windows, and on the roofs and bonnets of the cars.

Mistake Continuity: The position of the head of Kim Jong Il's statue changes during the scene. (First time we see the statue in this movie, it's blinking and moving: it is a real person).

Mistake Revealing: When Joe blows up the Eiffel Tower in Paris at the beginning, it smashes into the Arc de Triumph which then shatters. But as bits of the building go flying off into the Seine River, they bounce off the hard surface, showing it to be plastic not water.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the "I'm So Ronery" song, the camera pans past some photos of celebrities. Look in the Marilyn Monroe photo and you can see crewmember's feet (could be a puppeteer?).

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Right after Kim Jong Il finishes his "Ronery" song, the camera pans out to reveal him standing on the balcony of his palace. In the first of these 3 shots, if you look on the wall to the left as the camera pans out, you can see a brief shadow of the camera moving backwards.

Mistake Continuity: Near the end, when Spottswoode is being televised on the auditorium's monitors, he tells everyone to go home to their countries, he then tells them to thank Gary. The next shot shows Gary and Lisa on Kim's balcony when a spotlight swings over to them and highlights the pair. However in the next shot, a close-up of Gary and Lisa, they are not spotlighted, but in ordinary light and shadow.

Mistake Continuity: During the vomiting scene, there is vomit down the front of the Gary's shirt, when the camera cuts away it disappears, then after the next cut it reappears again.

Mistake Continuity: When Kim Jong Il falls off the balcony, his head is on the left, but when he's stuck by German helmet his head is on the right. He should have fallen with his head on the left.

Mistake Audio problem: About 3/4 the way through the movie, Kim Jong Il says 'stallion' correctly even though he can't say his "l"'s properly.

Mistake Continuity: When Gary is remembering at the start of the film the incident with his family and is looking at the picture in the mirror, you can see there are 4 people in it. The next shot when Gary is speaking with Spottswoode the picture (to the left) has changed to being just 2 people in the picture.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": At the very end of Gary's motorcycle ride, the marionette has been replaced with a stunt dummy. He's very up-right, like a Ken doll, and has no stubble on his face.

Mistake Continuity: Based on shootings and other events in the film the marionettes do bleed when they are shot or attacked. Hans Blix should bleed when he is attacked by the sharks, but there is no blood in the water.

Mistake Revealing: In the fight between Team America and the F.A.G., Samuel L. Jackson gets his head kicked in two. You can see that his head is already cracked before he gets kicked.

Mistake Factual error: When Team America (minus Gary) go and fight the Koreans in their planes, there is a shot where rain is dripping down the front of the cockpit. If they were flying, the water should be streaming backwards off the plane because of the wind, not dribbling down.
