Mistake Continuity: Halloran's parachute gets stuck in the trees and leaves him hanging at least 10 meters above the ground. However, in the following close-up shots he opens his belt and lands on the ground without any effort.

Mistake Factual error: The lid Halloran removes before the jump out of the plane is much too small. They wouldn't have made it through the opening with their parachutes strapped on.

Mistake Factual error: Before Halloran and Sellinger take off for their mission Sellinger arrives on the airfield in an American army car but which has right-hand steering.

Mistake Continuity: In the first scene at Margaret's home she is wearing black sandals when she is sitting at the table. When she drops the teapot the close-up of her feet shows some clumsy brown slippers.

Mistake Continuity: When Halloran sets the barn on fire to distract the Germans he lights up some straw with a match. All of a sudden you see flames flickering up at various places which could not be caused by the fire he made.

Mistake Factual error: Before they jump off the plane Halloran should at least have checked if Sellinger has his parachute strapped on properly, knowing that the other guy has absolutely no experience.

Mistake Revealing: The British intelligence officer Wells, who is being trained to infiltrate the Gestapo headquarters at Lyon, would never pass as a German because of his slight but still quite noticable accent.

Mistake Factual error: All Gestapo are played by American actors who speak fairly good but by no means perfect German.

Mistake Continuity: The windshields of the cockpit of Halloran's plane have different panes, depending if they are shown from inside or outside.

Mistake Revealing: On their escape in the jeep from the Gestapo headquarters the two protagonists are shot at directly from the front. One bullet makes a hole in the windshield right in front of Sellinger's chest and should have hit him.

Mistake Continuity: After the landing Halloran has a strap attached to the front of his vest. In the next shot it's gone.

Mistake Factual error: The squadron flies B-25 bombers from a base in England, which was inaccurate - B-25s were flown from the Mediterranean and the South Pacific, but not England; mostly B-17s, B-24s and B-26s flew from England.

Mistake Continuity: At the briefing before Halloran's second mission there are three bright ceiling lamps switched on in the hall. Immediately after the briefing Col. Bart wants to have a private word with him and the lamps are switched off, without any visible change of lighting.

Mistake Factual error: A high-ranking intelligence officer who tells his 8 or so-year old daughter what he does for a living must have been promoted a few times too many.

Mistake Factual error: At the Gestapo headquarters in Lyon Halloran and Sellinger come to a room with a sign "Dokument Zimmer". German is notorious for its enormous composite words, and the sign should have been "Dokumentenzimmer" or better "Dokumentenraum".

Mistake Plot hole: On their escape, a French woman hides Sellinger and Halloran in a barn. We see a man behind a curtain who later makes a phone call to inform the Germans. When they arrive Sellinger says to Halloran that the girl's father must have called them, this in spite of the fact that the woman never mentioned her father.

Mistake Factual error: They land with their parachutes 20 km south of Lyon. Sellinger wants to go to Lyon, and Halloran wants to make his way to the channel. Why did they walk off in opposite directions?

Mistake Continuity: The informant who calls the Germans when Halloran and Sellinger hide in the barn is wearing only a shirt when he is seen behind the curtain. A moment later, when he makes his call, he is wearing a jacket and a hat. Why would he put those on just to make a phonecall?
