Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, Eddie Murphy's character is trying out for the cop show. While arguing with the man trying out as chief, Eddie Murphy slams his hands on the table. When he does this, and throughout the scene, his gun holster and shoulder straps are clearly visible. But after he slams his hands down, and the camera cuts to the directors of the show and then back to Eddie, the holster is gone. The camera then cuts back to the directors and then to Eddie a second time, and the holster is back.
Continuity: Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy visit the crime scene where the house is demolished, and Eddie Murphy is sometimes seen through the recording video camera. The counter is first at the 55 minute mark, then changes to 21 minutes in the second shot, then 23 minutes less than a minute later, and finally the 26 minute mark approximately a minute later.
Continuity: When the producers try to give Robert DeNiro the retired drug sniffing police dog, the dog is sniffing around in white powder in a potted plant, which leaves white stuff all over his snout. When Eddie Murphy tries to pet "Powder", we see the dog growl and snap at him with no trace of anything on his face. The next time we see him, the powder is back on his snout.
Continuity: In the chase scene between Robert DeNiro (in the police cruiser) and the garbage truck, the windshield switches back and forth from being completely shot out to having a couple of holes in it, then being perfectly intact. Toward the end of the sequence it settles on having holes, since DeNiro has to kick it out in order to escape from the cruiser.
Factual error: During the Weapon show Eddie Murphy is shot at by the bad guy with a big gun. He hides behind a pile of sand bags. At the end of the movie the same guy shoots into the ceiling, with the same gun, and we can see that the bullets go through the ceiling making huge holes. How is it possible that the bullets go through a ceiling made of concrete, but not through a row of sand bags?
Continuity: When we first see the Corvette that Trey gets zoom into the garage, a motorcycle is going down the ramp that Trey is coming up. Then the next shot is a point of view from the Corvette, and there is no motorcyclist. Then the next shot was the same as the first and the motorcyclist is there again.
