In the extra/cut scenes included on the DVD, there is one where Rachel is in Katie's room snooping around. She goes over to the cabinet that has the TV on it and opens the top drawer, rummaging through it. Trivia
There are many references to heat and water in this movie. For example: 1. It is almost always raining. 2. Samara drowns in a well. 3. The horse jumps off a ship and dies. 4. The tree image that the two characters find was burned onto the wall. 5.The color of the tree's leaves is orange in the sunlight, resembling fire. 6. Samara's father commits suicide by electrocuting himself in a tub full of water (the joining of heat and water). 7. In the scene (in the extra/cut scenes) where Rachel and her sister are talking in the dead girl's room, her sister opens the closet door and we see a flashback of the dead body sitting in the floor. If you use the pause key, you can see a line on the floor indicating where the girl should stay to make the shot. A second later we see the closet without the chalk line.
