Mistakes
When Harry falls back after being startled by Sirius the dog, the Knight Bus headlights shine glaringly bright light all over Harry and the trunk. Yet in the next shot facing the oncoming Knight Bus, Harry and the trunk are barely lit by the headlights, which are nowhere near as bright. Trivia
There are several scenes on the staircases where you can see an 'overanxious' knight in the background, fighting and running around and such, most visible when the fat lady is discovered missing. This knight, though not prominent in the film, is mentioned several times in the books and initially helped Harry, Ron, and Hermione to find their first divination lesson. His name is Sir Cadogan and he was originally going to be played by Paul Whitehouse. See more...

Continuity: When Trelawney asks Ron to look in Harry's cup and read the tea leaves, the Grim within the cup is visible. When Harry looks in the cup the Grim is different, for example, it has an open mouth in this shot.
