Quotes
Mr. Gibbs: It's bad luck to wake a man when he's sleeping.
Jack Sparrow: Ah, but fortunately I know how to counter it: The man who did the waking buys the man who was sleeping a drink; and then the man who was sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking.
Mr. Gibbs: Aye...that'll about do it. [He gets up and Will dumps another bucket of water over his head.] BLAST! I'm already awake!!
Will: THAT was for the smell.
Mistakes
In the close-up of Jack as he swims to get his gun, etc, his left sleeve is pushed up and it's very obvious that he's wearing something with short sleeves under his white shirt. This isn't part of his white shirt. He has nothing on under his white shirt at any other time. (The underwater close-up of Depp was filmed in a tank at Long Beach along with the close-ups rescuing Elizabeth earlier.) See more...
Trivia
The scene where the prisoners in the jail cell are trying to get the dog to give them the keys is taken straight from the ride in Disneyland. The costumes and dog are even the same. See more...
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Deliberate "mistake": When Elizabeth falls down from the cliff, with her hat and scarf falling over her, you can see it is definitely not Keira Knightley, as the stuntperson's face is perfectly visible.
