In the final act, when the T1000 falls into the molten steel, he sinks and thrashes around rather like a human in water. However, molten steel has a density of around 8 g/cc - about 10 times that of a human. Immersed in such a fluid, he would sit on the surface and fry. Nothing in the movie gives us the impression he has a huge density approaching that of iron. If he did, he'd weigh about 700 kg and would have collapsed the suspension of the police Harley, been too heavy to fly the police helicopter and collapsed the back end of John Connor's car when he leapt on it. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Revealing: When the two Terminators first fight in the steel mill, in close - up shots the T-1000 is played by Robert Patrick, but in medium shots it's a stunt double who doesn't resemble Patrick very much at all.
