Mistakes
After being forced to continue through Moria, Gandalf says, "Let us hope that our presence may go unnoticed" and they continue on. There is a wide shot just before Gandalf's close-up when he says, "The wealth in Moria was not in gold." In that previous wide shot when Gandalf, Legolas and Gimli begin to walk on the narrow ledge, Gandalf turns towards Legolas behind him. You will see the power cord that is coming out of the bottom of his staff flip up and way out in front of his feet on that narrow ledge. Go frame by frame if necessary. Do not confuse it with the pail lines hanging over the pit. For most shots he wore a battery pack while the power cord went directly under his robe, however different staffs were used, each requiring different electrical leads. See more...
Trivia
When Arwen is taking Frodo to Rivendell and they are being chased by the Ringwraiths, there's a part when she gets a cut on her cheek from a tree branch. In the movie, when she gets the cut, you can see that it's on her right cheek. But, if you look on the DVD or VHS cover, it is on her left cheek. I'm counting this as trivia rather than a mistake, because it's not a mistake within the movie, but it's worth a look. See more...

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Continuity: When Gandalf meets Frodo for the first time and gives him a ride into Hobbiton on his wagon you can see that at the start of the sequence his wizard's staff is near Frodo's shoulder. In the back shot as they go over the bridge and another shot, the staff is to the rear of the wagon. In the very next shot, a close up, the staff has reappeared near Frodo's shoulder again. Also, as Gandalf goes up the hill in front of Bag End, his staff is sticking out the back of the wagon, but in the following close-up as he stops the wagon, the staff is right next to him. Other contents of the wagon also change position during the journey.
