Marty: Clara Clayton was supposed to die in the ravine. All the teachers tell the kids a story about a schoolteacher named Clayton who died in the ravine, and all the kids in town remember it because they all have a teacher they'd like to fall in the ravine.
Mistakes

Trivia
Looking for the three films at a whole, we can note that no fewer than FOUR DeLoreans were simultaneously existing in 1955: (1) the one in which Marty comes in the first movie; (2) the one in which the old Biff comes in second movie to give the Sports Almanac to his younger self; (3) the one in which Marty and Doc comes in second movie to rescue the Sports Almanac; and (4) the one which Doc hid in a mine in 1855 to be found by Marty in the third movie. Continuity: When the train is coming and is about to run over the DeLorean, the shadow of the train on the wall shows that it is only the locomotive. When the camera changes view, it is a train with freight carriages.
