Mistakes

When Frodo and Sam are in the field with the scarecrow, in the close up shot they're a lot closer together than in the wider shot. Nothing to do with perspective - check out the amount of green corn in front of Frodo in the two shots. The scarecrow also changes place and it's sometimes next to some corn and sometimes not. When filming "Fellowship," the actors playing the Hobbits required hours of work just to get on their Hobbit feet. It was so long and terrible that Sean Astin (Sam) counted the amount of times they had to put their feet on when it never showed up on camera in that day of filming. The final count was 50. Continuity: When Gimli jumps up on Balin's tomb we see a close up and his face is visible, with his axes either side. From behind, his axes are crossed in front of him, and should be practically covering his face.
