Davy Jones's tentacles were inspired by a stained coffee cup. The special effects team was puzzled when they tried to figure out what the color and texture of his tentacles should be. Then they saw a used cup on the table with a coffee stain on the inside, so they scanned the stain into the computer and that's how he got his tentacles. See more...
Aboard the Pearl, when Gibbs asks, "For the love of mother and child, Jack, what's coming after us?" as he walks towards Jack, the knot of his neck scarf is on his white shirt at his back. In the next shot, it is around his neck at the front.
