After Alex calls the police the first time, his mother herds him into his room. When they first enter there is a shot of his bed, the top pillowcase's open end is first facing right. Then there is a close up of Alex and the open end is facing left. It continues switching to the right whenever the shot is from farther away, to the left when it's a close up of Alex. See more...

Continuity: When Alex revs the toy car backward to drag the rug over the stairs into the other room, we can see in one shot the rug only reaches the bottom of the second step, whereas in the next shot of the car coming down the steps, the rug is now further down and you can see that a ramp has been put under it so the car does not fall over.
