A little artful exaggeration, yes... but these blue dudes look like Pixar characters, not flesh-and-blood-believable lifeforms.

Saw the trailer at the theater tonight, and I like the story, and the CGI looks interesting. I'm making plans on seeing this movie.

I saw the trailer for this in 3D last Friday at a Panasonic 3D TV demonstration in Central Milton Keynes (CMK) shopping centre (otherwise known as "The Centre"). It looked pretty good but yes, the CGI is not at all believable as real physical beings - they look like cartoons. Very good, detailed cartoons, yes, but not at all realistic. However, the film did look worth watching - lots of action!

The 3D TV demo was good too, though I'm not sure I could be bothered with having to wear the glasses in my lounge for general TV viewing. Possibly just for films but when it goes into production (this was just a prototype) we were told that one will have to purchase a new 50" Plasma, new 3D blu-ray player & the glasses. No price available at the moment, though I can't see it being below £3-4K at the outset.

Really? That preview totally turned me off... it looked very average to me, both in the special effects (you are so right) and in the plot. I've never seen such a bland preview. Very meh.

Maybe it was a different preview? Confused

Probably not, I was looking more at the action effects (avatars aside) and thinking: a candidate for the deluxe screen with waiter-service beer & nachos and brain turned off. Very Happy
