Just tell me that "This is it" is a promise and not a threat!

Enjoy the Show: Fifteen Tips for Better Movie Manners

Just read this. Maybe I read it and forgot, or maybe I somehow missed it...

But,

In general, the movie theater remains a remarkably civil place. In a society where people think it’s okay to drive while texting and yap on the cell phone while dining at a restaurant, it’s encouraging that we can still put a crowd of strangers in a darkened room and enjoy a movie in almost-silence.

What's wrong with this? I'm not allowed to have a converstion while I'm eating anymore? I think it's rude to talk on the phone if there's someone else at your table with you, but for other diners: what's the difference to you if they're talking to the person they're dining with or somone on the other end of a phone call?

It has been my experience that people talk on cell phones much louder than someone across the dinner table. I have been in restaurants and even with my back turned can tell immediately when someone is on the phone rather than just normal chatting. On top of that ring tones can be really irritating - nothing breaks a moment like having to listen to the "La Cucaracha" or "Barbie Girl" or even worse this one that gets more obnoxious as it goes on cycle through three times while some idiot searches for their phone.
