Of course I'd heard of Sofia Coppola's latest project, starring Kirsten Dunst. But I saw the preview last Friday when I went to see Memoirs of a Geisha and it was totally *not* what I expected!

It seems like she's trying to make modern viewers feel how exciting court life was to people of the time. The dance-type music used shocked me at first, but I then decided it worked very well with the intended feeling.

Of course, that may be used only for the preview and quite different from what the final version will be, but somehow, the title card makes me suspect otherwise.

All in all, I'm now looking forward to this. ^_^

Even with her! Unlike Cameron Diaz, I can definitely stand her, since she can *act*! ^_^

I saw this trailer when I went to the movies too. But I'm wondering if it will show the political implications as well. :?

BTY: I found this on that popular phrase:"let them eat cake".

I was not impressed with this trailer...The music and image combination totally turned me off.. :?

And while I like Kirsten Dunst, I don't think I'll like her in a period piece.. and I don't like her paired with Jason Schwartzman...:?

Really? That's what I liked best. I thought it made the viewer feel the "rhythm" of what court life was about. How exciting it was.

S. (who still doesn't like Dunst much)

Ooh - woman after my own heart. What are your feelings on Renee Zellweger? Everytime I see her, I just want to scream "Open your eyes, Squints!!!"

:x

I think Renee looked a million times better as bridget jones than what she does now, i.e like a skinny freak! It's so not attractive looking like a skeleton!

I kind of like REnee, but I don't like how she squints. I agree that she's too skinny.

she could use some food and an eye opener.

Eye-opener....

...that reminds me of the scene in Conspiracy Theory where Mel Gibson's eyes are being forcibly held open...

*shudder*
