Corrected entry: A large number of the women in the movie, especially the "harlots" and "harem girls," have very obvious breast implants as evident through the shapes of their breasts. Not something available thousands of years ago, but it does fit with the spirit of the movie. (00:24:00)

J I Cohen

Correction: Since we can't see surgical scars, or the implants themselves, since the costumes aren't *that* revealing, we can't say for sure that implants were used. A woman in a harem would be picked for her beauty, and ideally-formed attributes, therefore, there could well be a preponderance of large breasted women in the harem.

Jake 2.0 (2003)

Show generally

Corrected entry: Jake works for the NSA, and has operated within the U.S. (in mostly non signals-intelligence operations) in all but two episodes of the series shown in the UK thus far. The NSA is a signals intelligence agency that does not operate within the borders of the United States. They *could*, with a federal warrant, but why would they? It's not their job, so it's highly unlikely they would apply for such a warrant, and highly unlikely that one would be granted. There have been no indications that his operations are supposed to be illegal 'Black Ops'. Just about every mission Jake undertakes should be carried out by another agency; most of his domestic operations fall under the remit of the FBI, and most of the foreign ones would be the responsibility of the CIA. The NSA was probably chosen for the series due to its reputation as a mysterious organisation that uses esoteric technology, but it would have made more sense to create a fictitious organisation.

J I Cohen

Correction: SIGINT is only a part of the NSA/CSS organization, the other parts of the organization have other functions internal to the US - not that what Jake does is not way beyond the usual parameters of the NSA, but it does fit that they "own" him because he is basically information technology. If a baker owns a hammer, you're not going to use it to make bread.

Shallow Hal (2001)

Corrected entry: What Tony Robbins does to Hal is not supposed to be magic, but more like a form of hypnotism. Therefore, how does Hal know, at first sight, if new people he meets are beautiful or ugly 'on the inside'? Surely he should not be able to tell until he gets to know them better?

J I Cohen

Correction: Actually, this is very specifically addressed. In the dialog, the claim is that you DIDN'T need to get to know them, rather their "inner beauty" was easy to see if you looked for it. While it might have some logic problems, there is a very whimsical attempt to address it by Robbins.

The Rock (1996)

Corrected entry: Of course, in real life, VX is not stored in little glass spheres. As you can see in the movie, that's just plain stupid.

J I Cohen

Correction: The Vx was contained in metal canisters, inside a mushy thin coating for protection, but also for the gas to burn away as the rocket exploded.

Stuck On You (2003)

Corrected entry: Conjoined twins are always identical twins (occasional exceptions where facial deformities are present (e.g. in some twins joined at the skull), which is not the case for the twins in the movie). These are not identical twins (Greg Kinnear is also over 7 years older than Matt Damon). See Conjoined FAQ, Twins Operation, and Twins. You will see photo after photo of identical faces.

J I Cohen

Correction: There is a part where Kinnear reveals he is growing old at a faster rate then Damon because Damon has most of their liver. This is presumably why they don't look exactly alike.
