Revealing mistake: At the end when Tom Hanks has been shot and he pulls out his pistol in his final act of defiance, watch closely. The pistol jams on his second round. You can see the slide lock partially open. Immediately afterwards he goes on to fire several more shots.

S.W.A.T. (2003)
Revealing mistake: During the shoot-out between Hondo and TJ near the beginning, the two of them are running towards their targets and the view is from TJ's right side. As TJ is closing on his target, his pistol jams with the slide locked back, yet he acts like he is shooting normally. The sound of gunfire is added.

Animal House (1978)
Continuity mistake: During the parade, we see Nedermeyer leading the ROTC cadets, who are carrying M1 rifles. Later, during the riot, we see Nedermeyer take an M1903 rifle off a cadet and use it to shoot at Flounder. (01:35:50 - 01:43:05)

Basic (2003)
Factual error: The Ranger beret should be tan. The Rangers used to wear black berets but switched to tan berets after the rest of Army changed from patrol caps to black berets in 2001. And I doubt that Rangers take their berets out on FTXs.

The Last Samurai (2003)
Continuity mistake: During the training scene near the beginning, Algren is showing a soldier how to aim and fire a rifle-musket. The soldier is looking down the barrel and is about to fire, but the musket's hammer is down (uncocked). The shot changes to the coloniel and we hear Algren talk to him. This lasts for a few seconds that are devoid of sound effects (ie. a hammer being pulled back). The shot then changes back with Algren in mid-sentence and we see the hammer is now cocked and a percussion cap has been fitted.
