South Park (1997)

Show generally

Question: I seem to remember a scene in which Cartman knocks on Kyle's bedroom window one night and wakes him up, just to laugh at him. Any idea what episode? Might have happened with Stan instead of Kyle.

Answer: It's from "The List" - Season 11, Episode 14. Cartman goes to mock Kyle because he is higher than Kyle on The List the girls made of who the most attractive boy is in their class.

General questions

I feel like this might be an Eddie Murphy movie, but an adult (Murphy?) for some reason is trying to bribe a kid (maybe to be quiet about something) with a coupon for a scone. The kid's reply is something like "a scone? What do I look like, the queen of England?" When I search for the quote, all I get is pictures of the queen and scone recipes.

Bishop73

Answer: The movie you're looking for is "Imagine That", which has got Eddie Murphy in it. The quote in question is present in the trailer for the movie https://youtu.be/s2kYKjwsmS8.

Heather Benton

Thank you for that.

General questions

I once saw part of a movie I think from the 1980's that featured Christopher McDonald, and I believe he was in a club looking for his son, and I think there was also a man in the club that had a really tall mohawk. Anyone know the name of the movie?

Phaneron

Chosen answer: Maybe "Conflict of Interest"? That came out in 1993.

Heather Benton

That's the one. I looked up the movie on YouTube, and luckily the entire thing was uploaded, and I was able to find the scene I was describing, though it appears the guy with the mohawk didn't have it styled straight up, but was parted. Interesting that it came out in 1993, because the hairstyles and wardrobe for the film definitely have an 80's vibe to them.

Phaneron

Answer: Could you be thinking of "SLC Punk!" (1998)? McDonald plays the father to Stevo, a punk with a huge mohawk.

Bishop73

No, this seemed like more of a horror or crime thriller movie. I also live in Salt Lake, so watching SLC Punk! Was almost required viewing for me.

General questions

I'm trying to remember what movie it's from when the bad guy (I think) says "you find something that's important to them, and...you squeeze." Drawing a blank. Anyone know?

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: "Mission Impossible." Kitteridge says it to his colleague, Barnes (when the Feds turn up at the place where Max and her team were, and find them gone) when describing how he's going to get Ethan to come out of hiding.

Heather Benton

That's it! Fantastic, thank you. :-)

The Mask (1994)

Question: Why is Stanley Ipkiss wearing different pyjamas the morning after his second transformation of the Mask? He was wearing the original ones when he put on the Mask the second night.

adamtrainman@aol.com

Answer: Because his pyjamas got torn when he was at the Coco Bongo - when he's shot at as the Mask, the piece of his tie that falls off transforms back into his pyjamas.

Baby Driver (2017)

Question: During the heist at the post office, Baby shakes his head at a woman who in turn grabs a cop. When the lady was walking up, she smiled and waved like she knew him. However at the end during her testimony, it seems like she didn't know him after all. If that's the case, why did she smile and wave at him? Did I miss something?

lartaker1975

Answer: The woman works at the Post Office and was the one who served Baby and Sam the day before. He's shaking his head at her because he doesn't want her to go in the building and get hurt/ killed in the heist that's happening at that time. She doesn't know him in a personal way like Joseph or Debora.

General questions

I'm looking for a movie (probably made for TV) that has a rich kid hiring a smart kid to attend college for him so his father won't disinherit him for failing one more time. Only saw the beginning of it. 1970-1980 time frame.

Shasta73

Chosen answer: Sounds like "Making the Grade" starring Judd Nelson, which came out in 1984 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087666/.

Heather Benton

Question: This shouldn't be bothering me as much as it is, but somewhere within the first twenty minutes of Back to the Future when Doc wakes Marty up by calling & ask him to pick up his camera, what does Marty begin to eat?

Answer: Marty eats a piece of chocolate - you can see on his nightstand a bar of chocolate with a chunk on top. It's this chunk he eats when Doc calls him about collecting the video camera and meeting him at Twin Pines Mall.

Heather Benton

Answer: Marty is eating chocolate cake.
