Continuity mistake: Howard comes to Hartford and meets Fred. Watch the Blackfoot Strikes album. First, it's right side up, then opening down, then right again. Fred then picks it up in the upside down position and puts it on the window sill. When Howard sits down it's back on the board, he puts drumsticks on it. Then he puts a clipboard on it. At the end of the scene the album is gone, back on the windowsill.

Factual error: When the announcement is made on the television for the Eagles open tryout they said it was channel 11. In Philly, there were only channels 3, 6, and 10. 12 was PBS, then 17, 29, and 57 for UHF. No channel 11.

Factual error: When John and Mark were in Valley Forge, the areas around the statues was not mowed. This was a money saving measure enacted in the 2000's. This movie was set in 1987, when the area would have been mowed.

Continuity mistake: When Darryl throws the shake at Akeem, he tosses it underhanded. When it hits him, you can see it was thrown hard at him.

Revealing mistake: When Dad gets the bowling ball, it's already drilled, and obviously not for him. Watch how he holds it and puts it down. The holes look very small.

Factual error: In the bar where Vince works there is a Yuengling Lager beer tap. Yuengling Lager wasn't brewed in 1976 - it had been discontinued and was only reintroduced in 1987.

Continuity mistake: In the shots of the broadcast booth, when filmed from the front the can of soda is Coke. When it's a shot from the rear it is Fanta Grape.
