Captain Defenestrator

Correction: There is no continuity error. The bowl of fruit only ever appears on the kitchen island. The bowl of nuts is on the breakfast bar.

Correction: As you pointed out, Shirley is Baptist and isn't aware how Orthodoxes make the sign of the cross. However, her established religion has no bearing on her making the sign of the cross, nor is it against her religion to make the sign.

Daredevil (2015)

.380 - S2-E11

Corrected entry: When Castle and Karen are in the diner, the waitress comes to refill their coffee, and when she asks if there's anything else, Castle tells her "Ya know, I'm gonna need about as much black coffee as this place'll pump out, so just keep it comin'." The pot that she's filling their cups with is orange, which, in diners all over, is the decaf pot. Not the one you'd use for a customer who ordered black coffee. (00:19:50)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Just because it's orange doesn't mean for sure that it's decaf. The regular pot could have broken and they are using a spare orange one for now. Could also easily have been a simple mistake on the part of the diner, using the incorrect pot and not switching it out to avoid washing an extra dish.

The Lizard-Spock Expansion - S2-E8

Corrected entry: Sheldon suggests Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock as an alternative to Rock, Paper, Scissors because "Anecdotal evidence suggests that in the game of rock-paper-scissors, players familiar with each other will tie 75 to 80% of the time due to the limited number of outcomes." As a devout scientist, Sheldon would know that anecdotal evidence is no basis for reaching a conclusion because it is based on individual experience and subject to bias. (00:00:30)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Presumably the "anecdotal evidence" is his own experience; within his group of friends they tie 75-80% of the time.

The Bakersfield Expedition - S6-E13

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode Sheldon's sat nav voice asks "Can you name the four state capitals that are not served by the interstate system?" In fact, there are five, according to the Interstate System's website. Juneau, Alaska; Dover, Delaware; Jefferson City, Missouri; Carson City, Nevada; and Pierre, South Dakota.

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Although there used to be 5 state capitals not served by the interstate system, the completion of I-580 means that Carson City is now served, hence there are only four, and the sat nav was correct. 580 was completed in 2012, the episode in question aired in 2013.

What about Hawaii?

Honolulu, HI has an Interstate Highway. Not all Interstate Highways physically go from one state to another, the name just indicates it receives federal funding as part of the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways initially set up through the Federal Aid Highway Act.

Bishop73

Honolulu Hawaii is served by H1, H2 and H3, all part of the U.S. Interstate system.

Burn Notice (2007)

Old Friends - S1-E3

Corrected entry: When Michael needs a ride, he tells Sam "The Charger's busted, you're driving me over to my mom's." However, it's not til the next episode that he even remembers that his father's old Charger is in his mother's garage, and he doesn't want anything to do with it til the end of the episode. (00:04:35)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: In the previous episode, Fiona reminds Michael about the Charger, and at the end of that episode he is working on it (without success). That's why in the next episode he can say that it's busted.

Fallout 4

Corrected entry: The Bridgeway Trust Bank has skeletons of customers and staff at the teller counter and in the offices. October 23, 2077; the day the bombs fall in the game, will be a Saturday. Even if the bank had been open on a Saturday, they wouldn't have been fully staffed.

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: They could be skeletons of people trying to flee from the bombs. They could also be from way later as the war happened 200 years before and human remains can become skeletons in a few years.

lionhead

Correction: This movie is a reboot of sorts that only considers the first two films for its plot. Anything introduced in 3 and 4 has been ignored.

Corrected entry: When John tells the Terminator to stop the bike, he pulls off the road into a side-street, then off the side-street and behind a building before stopping. After he says that he's programmed to obey John's commands, every order John gives him from then on is carried out immediately. So why would he take so long to obey the command to stop the bike. Granted, not stopping in traffic would be an issue of John's safety, however, once they've pulled off the main street, that's no longer a factor and he should have stopped immediately. (00:38:50)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: The Terminator is charged with protecting John's safety. Stopping on the street is more dangerous than in a parking lot. Remember that when John tells him to put the gun down, he gently sets it down instead of dropping it.

Greg Dwyer

Correction: In "Eagleton" Ron is offered the two films; "The Dirty Dozen" and "Bridge on the River Kwai". It is never specified which of the films he watched, it is possible he only watched the one.

Doctor Who (1963)

Remembrance of the Daleks - S25-E1

Corrected entry: We know the episode takes place on 23 November, 1963 because the first episode of Doctor Who is about to come on TV when Ace leaves the room. JFK was assassinated less than 24 hours ago, and nobody seems to be affected. Granted, the military characters have other things on their minds, but none of the civilians wear black armbands or even mention that the biggest news story of the year that just happened.

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: You said it yourself: the people have other things of importance to worry about. This is set in London, where the reaction would not have been as significant as in America. It is set in a school where the lessons would have gone on as normal. At most there would be some discussion in an assembly.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Lisa's search said 'Harry Nilsson - Died of massive heart attack SUFFERED on Valentine's Day'. The operative word here is 'suffered'; so what that means is Nilsson died (eventually) of a heart attack that began on the 14th of February the year before. It's tricky semantics, yes but it's correct. It would've been a mistake if he'd said 'died of massive heart attack on Valentine's Day'.

Doctor Who (2005)

Correction: "Different universe." This is the Doctor's response when asked why the Silence were no longer being killed in "The Wedding of River Song." Even if that is not the case, this is an entirely different breed of Silence we've seen previously.

Harrison Bergeron (1995)

Corrected entry: After Harrison spends the night absorbing pre-Revolutionary culture, he asks Philippa who the old man playing King Lear was and she replies "Macauley Culkin." Early in the film, we established that the revolution took place in 2018, which means Macauley Culkin would only be at most 38 years old, so not an "old man".

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Certain people don't age well. You can also add in the certain possibility of a celebrity using drugs and alcohol, causing them to age faster. He could also simply be in makeup as King Lear.

Family Guy (1999)

Correction: It's not a world with no religion whatsoever; Stewie simply described it as a world without Christianity. The Sistine Chapel could still exist, but not necessarily as a building with any religious significance, or possibly representing a different faith.

The King Is Back - S1-E9

Corrected entry: Upon entering this world, Quinn is still handcuffed behind his back from the previous world. When people are laughing at them and the Professor says "Gentlemen, check your flies," his hands are free. Quinn keeps his hands behind his back after that throughout the scene and the next time we see him from the side, he's still in cuffs. (00:05:20 - 00:06:25)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: I watched this carefully and Jerry O'Connell does not actually have his hands free. While leaving the courtroom he actually brings his hands around his side to emphasize the cuffs. It looks like that's what he did this time. Watch his left shoulder. It goes down as his right hand comes around to the side of his hip, implying that he is torquing his back to accommodate the cuffs. Also, his hand only comes around as far as his hip. If his hands were free, he would have brought both forward or the one hand farther in.

House, M.D. (2004)

Season 7 generally

Corrected entry: Zachary tells Colleen that he gave the other girl a cheat code for Red Dead Revolver to hit her with the jump-rope, forcing her to lose the bet so she'd have to kiss him. Although it's possible that the girl was playing a 7-year-old game on an outdated system, it's more likely that he meant Red Dead Redemption, the sequel released last year. (00:36:50)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: I still play Super Mario World - a twenty year-old game on a system outdated three generations over. People like old games.

Torchwood (2006)

Show generally

Corrected entry: In the first episode, "Everything Changes," Gwen is told that "Captain Jack Harkness failed to report for duty" on 21 January, 1941. However, in "Captain Jack Harkness," Jack tells Tosh that the real Captain Jack Harkness will be killed in combat, taking down 3 Messerschmidts and getting the rest of his squadron safely back to base in the process the next day. Surely, at least one of his men would have reported that the Captain died a hero. If not, how can he fail to report for duty if he was in the air? (00:39:10 - 00:39:50)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Gwen asks for information on a living man named Jack Harkness. The original Jack Harkness, the pilot, is confirmed as having been killed in combat - as you say, his squadron would have reported his heroic death. Being confirmed as deceased, there's no reason for the researcher to mention him. Torchwood's Jack Harkness, who took his name and who also served in the military, is the one who was listed as having vanished without trace.
