Factual error: Gloria's vehicle is a Chevrolet Blazer SS EV, but during the chase scene, her supposedly electric vehicle makes sounds like a normal gas engine.

Factual error: Amongst the essential parts of a nuclear weapon's detonation mechanism is a radioactive isotope of tritium, which has a half life of just 12 1/2 years. The tritium in every nuke on earth has to be replaced every ten years or so. This is by no means unusual; there are other perishable parts including detonators made of conventional explosives which would be completely inert after a thousand years. After lying dormant with no maintenance at all for that amount of time the nuclear weapons the 'Man-animals' find would be big shiny paperweights and not much else.

Continuity mistake: At the cemetery, when Harry is trapped at the statue, Voldemort raises his right arm and places his finger on Harry's forehead stating, "I can touch you now." While Voldemort's arm remains raised his sleeve slides down towards his shoulder, but is back up at his elbow in the close-up. He seems to have the same problem in other shots during this scene. Trivia: SPOILER: Nicolas Cage has a cameo in this film as an alternate version of Superman fighting a giant spider. This is a nod to the cancelled film "Superman Lives", which would have starred Cage and been directed by Tim Burton. The giant spider was part of the script at the insistence of producer Jon Peters, who finally got to make use of the idea in Wild Wild West.

Other mistake: When Iron Man and Iron Monger are fighting, Iron Man catches the SUV, and you can see the family inside the car. Although the car is completely vertical, the hair of the people in the car seems to defy gravity.

Revealing mistake: When the elephants are making fun of Dumbo in the train caboose, Dumbo's mother pulls a pin which causes the stall door above the other elephants to fall. When the door bounces back up, you can see that the animators forgot to draw the elephants' heads and trunks and only their bodies are visible.

Continuity mistake: During Andy's daydream at the beginning of the film, Mr. Potato Head has an eye patch over his left eye. When the daydream cuts back to reality we see that Andy has removed Mr. Potato Head's left eye to symbolize the eye patch. But when Andy's mum comes in with the video camera, his left eye is suddenly back in. (00:01:15 - 00:05:25)

Best questions
Question: Is this a true story? The ending with text "John W. Creasy" and lifetime dates makes it seem like a true story.
Answer: No, the movie was based on a fiction book. The book takes place in Italy, and the kidnapping ring is run by the mafia.
Answer: The movie was completely lifted from a much better 1987 version of the same story.

Other mistake: Towards the end, Chewbacca and Beckett have walked some distance from the landed yacht. They come up a small slope and are faced with Han, waiting for them. But an aerial shot shows that slope is very short and just runs down to a cliff. There's no way they could have got to the base of the slope to walk up it in the first place.
